La ciudad que recibirá por mar este año 2, 6 millones de visitantes, el des-embarco más numeroso de su historia, Barcelona, es una ciudad que siempre ha vivido de cara al mar pero, sobre todo, ahora vive más que nunca de todo lo que el mar le proporciona: tu-rismo y visitantes dispuestos a disfrutar de una ciudad única en el mundo por su personalidad cosmopolita, hospitalario y, sobre todo, catalana. Para todo ellos, estamos preparados. Estamos encan-tados de recibirlos.

Los millones de vistantes que cada año pasean por las rambas, calles y pa-seos de Barcelona vienen por muchos motivos, porque existen mil Barcelo-nas, cultural, histórica siendo la cuna de grandes personajes insignes de todas las artes, pero con una particularidad en todos ellos: su moderación. Barcelo-na desborda al visitante por su variada oferta museística, aunque, cabe decir, que la ciudad en si misma es un gran museo. Perderse por sus barrios, dis-frutar de su generosidad y de su gente tan pausada como discreta.

Y como podemos hablar de Barcelona sin hablar de se gastronomía de fama mundial, esta ciudad, crisol de restau-rantes tanto tradicionales como de la cocina más novedosa y reconocida. Hay cientos y a cual mejor. Algo pareci-do ocurre con sus tiendas para perder-te, sus calles legendarias, lugares que te sorprenderán, no es por casualidad el interés turístico de nuestra ciudad.

Por ellos, a sus 7 terminales de cruce-ros llegan los mejores barcos del mun-do y, de ellos, desembarcan, con los ojos bien abiertos y brillantes, miles de nuevos visitantes a la conquista de “su rincon”, pues Barcelona tiene un rincon para cada uno de ello. Ese “ejercito” habla mil lenguas, no importa, aquí, no seréis extraños porque aquí, en Barce-lona, siempre estaremos preparados para deciros una y mil veces “Welcome To Barcelona”.

Barcelona will receive 2, 6 million vis-itors by sea this year, the largest dis-embarkation of its history. Barcelona has always been facing the sea but is now more than ever making a living from what the sea provides: tourism and visitors ready to enjoy a city, unique in the world for its cosmopolitan, hospita-ble and, above all, Catalan personality. We are well prepared and delighted to receive them.

The millions of visitors that each year walk around the Ramblas, streets and avenues of Barcelona come for many reasons, as Barcelona has many faces; it’s cultural, historical, the cradle of great important people representing all kind of arts, all of which have one thing in com-mon: its moderation. Barcelona exceeds the expectation of the visitors with its wide range of museums, although we can say that the city itself is one great museum, where you can wander around its many quarters; enjoy its generosity and its peaceful and discreet inhabitants.

We cannot talk about Barcelona without mentioning its world famous gastronomy; this city is a melting pot of restaurants, from the traditional to the most innovative and recognized cuisine. There are hun-dreds to choose between in this city, and they are all good. This also goes for its shops, its legendary streets, places that will surprise you... Its power of attraction on the tourists is not a coincidence.

The best boats in the world arrive at Barcelona’s seven cruise terminals, and thousands of new visitors disembark with eyes wide open, to conquer “their corner” of the city, because Barcelona has a corner for each and everyone. This “army” speaks a thousand languag-es, but please don’t worry, you won’t feel alien here in Barcelona, as we are al-ways prepared to greet you with a “Wel-come to Barcelona”.

I Gala Entrega de Premios W2Spain 1st edition of the Cruise Tourism Awards 'Welcome 2 Spain'

Acogidos por el incomparable es-cenario que brinda la sala María Cristina de la Fundación Unicaja, en el centro de Málaga, los princi-pales actores del sector de turismo de crucero en el ámbito nacional se dieron cita el pasado 28 de noviem-bre a las 20:30h para participar en la celebración de la primera edición de los ‘Premios Welcome 2 Spain’.

Este proyecto, nacido en 2011 con la idea de ayudar a los cruceristas a conocer mejor su ciudad de destino, otorgó durante la gala un total de nue-ve galardones.

Por una parte, el Pasaje Azamara Club Cruises fue distinguido en la categoría de ‘Protección y Seguridad’; el premio al Puerto con Mayor Afluencia de Es-paña fue para Port de Barcelona; el del Puerto Español con Mayor Pro-yección en 2.014, recayó en el Puerto de Málaga; la Consignataria del Año fue para PÉRE & CÍA.; el Touroperador del año, para BC Tours; la Ciudad con Mejor Promoción, para la Autoridad Portuaria y el Ayuntamiento de Sevilla; a la Inversión en Astilleros Españoles, para Disney Cruises; el de Obra Social en la Ciudad de Málaga, para la Fun-dación Unicaja; y el de la Solidaridad, para la Asociación de Consignatarios de Málaga.

La gala, que duró algo más de una hora, fue magistralmente guiada por los presentadores Norberto Rizzo y May Martín y contó con la presencia de la compañía de danza Aznar Valver-de, que deleitaron a los asistentes con tres actuaciones de baile: Clásico es-pañol, Alegría de Cádiz y Budabar. Tras la entrega de premios, los espectado-res pudieron disfrutar de un refrigerio en uno de los magníficos espacios brindados por la Sala María Cristina.

Hosted by the incomparable sce-nery offered by the Sala Maria Cristina Fundación Unicaja in Ma-laga city centre, the main actors of the cruise tourism sector at Natio-nal level met last 28th of Novem-ber at 8.30pm to participate in the celebration of the first edition of ‘Welcome 2 Spain Awards‘.

This project, born in 2011 with the idea of helping the cruise tourism to better understand their cruise in destination city, had a total of nine awards at the gala.

On the one hand , the Pasaje Azama-ra Club Cruises was awarded in the category of ‘Safety and Security ‘, the award to the Most Heavy traffic harbour in Spain was for the Port of Barcelona, the Spanish Harbour Port with the Best Protection in 2014, went to the Puerto de Málaga, the Agent of the Year went to PÉRE & CÍA., The Tour Operator of the year for BC Tours; the City with the Best Promo-tion for the Autoridad Portuaria, the Seville City Council, the Investment in Spanish shipyards, to Disney Crui-ses ; the Social Project for the City of Málaga, for the FundaciónUnicaja, and the Solidarity award, for the Aso-ciación de Consignatarios de Málaga.

The gala, which lasted just over an hour, was directed masterfully by a couple of presenters Norberto Ri-zzo and May Martin, the audience was delighted by life performances of dance: Clásico español, Alegría de Cádiz y Budabar. After the Gala awards, they enjoyed refreshments in a wonderful environment offered by the Sala María Cristina.

La cultura catalana está llena de tradiciones muy arraigadas que se celebran a lo largo de todo el año y, especialmente al llegar las navida-des, podemos vivir muchas de ellas.

Las Navidades en Barcelona en par-ticular y en Cataluña en general, se vi-ven de una manera única. Tradición y cultura se unen una vez más para ce-lebrar estas fechas tan especiales que aquí se vive con especial ilusión. Desde W2 Barcelona queremos acercar estas costumbres a quienes no las conozcan todavía, porque seguro que no nos van a dejar indiferentes.

Para empezar, una de las tradiciones más lejanas y arraigadas que tiene Ca-taluña es la de realizar el Pessebre, una representación del nacimiento del niño Jesús con figuras de distintos mate-riales. Los niños esperan con ansia el momento de empezar a construir, en casa o en el colegio, el escenario del Pessebre, un escenario que puede va-riar en tamaño según el espacio del que dispongamos. Se decora con musgo, con troncos, con corchos y otros ma-teriales. En algunos casos se utilizan grandes infraestructuras, consiguiendo verdaderas obras de arte que tardan días y días en ser construidas. Durante las fechas navideñas se organizan ex-posiciones y concursos en los que se pueden admirar estas artísticas repre-sentaciones del nacimiento de Jesús.

Algunas de la figuras que no pueden faltar en el Pessebre son la cueva con la Virgen María, San José, el Niño Je-sús y la estrella de Belén, y un sinfín de pastores. Nos llamará especialmente la atención la figura del “caganer”, que representa a un pastorcillo haciendo sus necesidades al aire libre.

Pero en Cataluña también existe la tradición de representar el Pessebre con personas reales, es decir el Pes-sebre Vivent, un espectáculo digno de presenciar por su espectacularidad.

Otra figura emblemática de las Navi-dades catalanas es sin duda el tió, un tronco de árbol que es tapado con una manta y vestido con la barretina (típico sombrero catalán), y que los niños lo golpean con unos bastones mientras cantan canciones, a la espera de que les caigan sus regalos que aparecerán debajo de la manta.

Gastronómicamente disfrutaremos del postre más popular de las fies-tas Navideñas, los ricos turrones, que encontraremos de distintos tipos como el de Jijona, mazapán, choco-late, yema, almendras, etc. , todos ellos exquisitos. También podremos degustar el Tortell de Reis, un roscón que se come el 6 de enero, el día que los Reyes Magos de Oriente.

Desde W2 Barcelona os invitamos a pasar las Navidades en Barcelona y seguro que no las vais a olvidar. Un bo-nito paseo por el centro de la ciudad, por sus calles iluminadas de colores, comprar algunos regalos para nuestros seres queridos en las preciosas tiendas decoradas, vivir de cerca el Mercado de Santa Llúcia, asistir a la cabalgata de los Reyes Magos con nuestros pequeños… todo esto hará que disfrutamos esta época del año de un modo especial.

The Catalan culture is full of strong traditions that are celebrated throu-ghout the year and especially when the Christmas arrives, we can enjoy a lot of them.

The Christmas in Barcelona in parti-cular and in Catalonia in general, is li-ved in a unique way. The tradition and the culture come together once again to celebrate this special time that here is lived with special pleasure. From W2 Barcelona we want to bring these cus-toms to they that do not know them yet, because they are not going to leave us indifferent.

To start, one of the most remote and strong traditions of Catalonia is to do the crib, a representation of the Jesus birth with figures of different materials. Children look forward to the time to start building, at home or at the school, the crib scenario, a scenario that can vary in size depending on the space availa-ble. Garnish with moss, logs, and other materials with corks. In some cases they use large infrastructures, achieving true works of art that take days and days to be built. During the Christmas season exhibitions and competitions in which you can admire these artistic represen-tations of the Jesus birth are organized.

Another emblematic figure of the Cata-lan Christmas is definitely the tió, a trunk of tree that is covered with a blanket and wear a barretina (a typical Catalan hat), and the kids beat him with a stick while they sing carols, waiting that they drop their gifts that appear under the blanket.

Gastronomically we will enjoy the most popular dessert of the holiday season, rich nougats, we will find different types like Jijona, marzipan, chocolate, etc al-monds, etc. They are all exquisite. We may also taste the Tortell de Reis (round cake) that is eaten the 6th of January, the day of the Three Wise Men.

La Fira de Santa Llúcia se celebrará como todos los años en los alrede-dores de la Catedral de Barcelona, del 30 de Noviembre hasta el 23 de Diciembre.

Una de las tradiciones más popula-res y arraigadas de los ciudadanos de Barcelona, al acercarse la Navidad, es acudir a la Fira de Santa Llúcia. ¿Pero, qué es exactamente la Fira de Santa Llúcia? Es un mercado donde podre-mos encontrar en más de 270 puestos todos los adornos navideños para de-corar nuestra casa durante esta época del año.

Este mercado se sitúa justo delante de la Catedral de Barcelona, en la Plaza Nueva y, de hecho tenemos constancia de que esta feria se celebra ¡desde el año 1786! ¿Os lo imaginabais?

Si caminásemos entre los diferentes puestos de la feria podremos distinguir hasta cuatro tipos de estantes. Primera-mente, encontraremos los puestos que venden productos relacionados con el belén y sus figuras. Algunos de los ejemplos son las cuevas, todo tipo de complementos para decorar el paisaje del pesebre, estrellas fugaces o figuritas del belén como las del nacimiento, pas-torcillos, animalitos, los reyes magos, etc, y el caganer como principal prota-gonista del belén catalán, una figura de un pastor haciendo sus necesidades al aire libre. Además, también podremos comprar luces de navidad, bolas y otras decoraciones para el hogar.

Encontramos también tiendas donde venden los árboles de Navidad, tanto naturales como artificiales, que la gente lleva a sus casas para decorarlos con bolas y luces de colores. En estos es-tantes también venden la típica figura del tió de varios tamaños, que hará la alegría de los más pequeños el día de Navidad, regalándoles juguetes y dul-ces a todos aquellos que le canten una tradicional cancioncilla mientras le azo-tan con un bastón.

Por último, encontramos otros dos ti-pos de puestos; unos nos ofrecen todo tipo de productos artesanales y com-plementos, como por ejemplo objetos de decoración, bisutería y joyería. En otras encontraremos las zambombas y panderetas para poner música y alegría a la Navidad.

Pero para saber qué es exactamente la Fira de Santa Llúcia lo mejor es vi-virlo en primera persona y pasear por las abarrotadas calles de la feria para disfrutar del auténtico ambiente navide-ño de Barcelona, respirar el olor de los abetos y ver el colorido y las luces de todas los puestos en medio de la músi-ca alegre de los villancicos que suenan sin parar.

The Fira de Santa Llucia will be held as every year around the Cathedral of Barcelona, from the 30 November to the 23 December.

One of the most popular and rooted customs of the people of Barcelona, as Christmas approaches, the tradition is to attend to the Fira de Santa Llucía. But what exactly is the Fira de Santa Llucia? It is a market where you can find more than 270 stalls with all the Christmas garlands to decorate your house this time of year.

This market it sets up its stalls in front of the Cathedral of Barcelona, in the Plaça Nova, this market has been going since at least 1786! Did you imagine it?

If we walked among the different fair’s stalls we can distinguish four types of stands. Firstly, we will find the stalls se-lling related products with the crib and figures. Some examples are the caves, with all kinds of accessories to decorate the landscape crib, shooting stars or litt-le figures of the nativity as the birth, the shepherds, little animals, the wise men, etc., and the main protagonist of the Catalan nativity is the caganer, a figure of a shepherd doing the bodily functions outdoors. In addition, we also can buy Christmas lights, balls and other deco-rations for the home.

We also find stalls where they sell Christmas trees, both natural and ar-tificial, that people take them home to decorate with Christmas balls and li-ghts. These shelves also sell the typical figure of the tió of various sizes, which will make the joy of the children in the Christmas Day, giving them toys and sweets to all those who sing traditional songs while they beat it with a stick.

But to know what exactly the Fira de Santa Llucía is, the best is go and expe-rience it in person and wander the crow-ded streets of the fair to enjoy a true Christmas atmosphere of Barcelona, breathing the smell of the spruce and see the colourful lights all the stalls wi-thin the joyful music of the carols which sound all the time.

El Poble Espanyol, un recinto único donde se concentra el arte contem-poráneo, la arquitectura española, la artesanía y la gastronomía del país.

Situado en una de las zonas más emble-máticas de Barcelona y a pocos metros de las fuentes de Montjuïc, el Poble Es-panyol es uno de los mayores atractivos de la ciudad por el conjunto único que ofrece en cuanto a arte contemporáneo, arquitectura, artesanía y gastronomía en un entorno tranquilo y apacible.

El recinto fue construido en 1929, con motivo de la Exposición Internacional, con la idea de ser una síntesis de la ri-queza arquitectónica y cultural de Es-paña. Aunque estaba previsto derribar-lo tras este acontecimiento, se decidió conservarlo debido a la aceptación que consiguió. Por eso, hoy podemos se-guir disfrutando de las calles, plazas y fachadas que hacen del Poble Espan-yol un verdadero pueblo en el que se encuentran réplicas de edificios de di-ferentes regiones españolas y en el que se respira el ambiente y la diversidad cultural del país.

El interés cultural del Poble Espanyol se explica, también, por la presencia de más de 30 artesanos que trabajan dentro del recinto de forma regular y continuada y a los que se puede ver trabajando en directo. Profesionales reconocidos que elaboran vidrio, cue-ro, cerámica, joyas, máscaras, cestería, guitarras españolas…, se concentran en establecimientos o talleres para ofrecer a los visitantes piezas únicas, exclusivas, artesanales y, si se desea, personalizadas.

El Museo Fran Daurel es otro de sus atractivos. Se trata de una colección privada abierta al público que alberga más de 295 obras de autores clave del arte contemporáneo: Picasso, Dalí, Miró, Tàpies, Barceló, Guinovart y Amat, entre muchos otros. Y entre paseos, descu-brimientos artísticos y visitas a los ar-

tesanos y también a las tiendas de pro-ductos gourmet, será necesario retomar fuerzas en alguno de los restaurantes o bares del Poble Espanyol.

Existe una amplia oferta de estableci-mientos con diferentes tipos de cocina en los que disfrutar de buena comida en un entorno tranquilo y sin coches. Y… si el tiempo acompaña, ¿por qué no aprovechar para sentarse en alguna de sus agradables terrazas?

So today, we can still enjoy the streets, squares and facades that make the Poble Espanyol a real village where we can find replicas of buildings from different Spanish regions where you can breathe the atmosphere and cultural di-versity of the country.

The cultural interest of the Poble Es-panyol is also explained by the presence of more than 30 craftspeople working in the area in a regular and continuous way and can be seen working. Recognized professionals who make glass, leather, ceramics, jewellery, masks, basketry, Spanish guitars..., they work on estab-lishments or workshops to offer visitors unique pieces, exclusive, handmade and, if desired, tailor made.

Barcelona siempre ha estado ligada a la cultura y concretamente muy cer-ca del arte. Visitar algunos de sus mu-chos museos y galerías puede ser un verdadero placer para la vista y una experiencia muy enriquecedora.

En Barcelona podremos encontrar una gran cantidad de museos y pequeñas galerías que van a hacer las delicias de todos aquellos amantes del arte y de la cultura. Desde W2 Barcelona os presen-tamos una lista de los museos que cree-mos que no podemos dejar de acudir si nos encontramos en la ciudad condal.

Para empezar, acudiremos a dos funda-ciones de dos grandes artistas catalanes de renombre internacional, como son la Fundación Antoni Tàpies y la Fundación Joan Miró. Allí podremos admirar sus creaciones escultóricas y pictóricas de gran valor artístico.

Seguidamente, no podemos dejar de visitar el MACBA, el Museo de Arte Con-temporáneo de Barcelona, un museo de-dicado a las obras de la segunda mitad del siglo XX, que se encuentra bastante cerca del centro de la ciudad.

Otra buena opción es visitar el Museo de Historia de Cataluña, situado en la Barceloneta, y aprovechar a su salida para pasear por unos de los barrios más de moda de Barcelona, la Barceloneta, muy cerca del puerto y lleno de peque-ños bares marineros donde disfrutar de las famosas tapas.

Para aquellos amantes de la ciencia, Barcelona también les ofrecerá la opor-tunidad de acudir al Museo de la Ciencia, un espacio interactivo donde tanto ma-yores como los más pequeños lo pasarán en grande con los experimentos científi-cos que allí podrán realizar.

Y ya por último, uno de los museos más importantes de la ciudad es el MNAC, el Museo Nacional de Arte de Cataluña, el cual se encuentra en el magnífico palacio ubicado sobre las Fuentes de Montjuïc. Allí tendremos la oportunidad de gozar de obras de arte catalán del Románico , Gó-tico, Renacimiento, Barroco y Moderno. Muchas de las piezas expuestas tienen gran valor artístico.

Desde W2 Barcelona os aconsejamos acudir a alguno de estos museos porque seguro que la visita cultural será tan ex-cepcional como las obras que estos mu-seos nos ofrecen.

Frente al Estadio Olímpico de Barce-lona, en el distrito de Sants-Montjuïc, descubriremos unos bellos jardines donde podremos disfrutar de la na-turaleza y de una fantástica vista de la ciudad. Son los Jardines de Joan Maragall.

Los orígenes de los Jardines de Joan Maragall los encontramos en la Expo-sición Internacional de 1929, cuando fueron construidos alrededor del Pabe-llón Real. No fue hasta el año 1970 que fueron ampliados y renovados, deno-minándolos tal y como los conocemos hoy en día.

La decadencia que ya precedía Barcelona desde finales de la Edad Media y que se prolongó durante los siguientes siglos, provocó junto con las tensiones con el reinado de Feli-pe IV la posterior Guerra dels Sega-dors (de los Segadores).

El final de la Edad Media fue para la ciudad de Barcelona un periodo de de-cadencia causado sobre todo por los diversos brotes de peste y por la es-casez generalizada de alimentos, que mermaron la población barcelonesa a mediados del siglo XIV, provocando así una auténtica crisis demográfica.

El comercio marítimo, que en tiempos anteriores había sido uno de los ejes centrales de la próspera economía de Barcelona, se vio afectado negativa-mente a causa de la piratería y de la apertura de la ruta Oriente por el Atlán-tico. Además, se le sumó las revueltas de los campesinos provocadas por las deudas que arrastraba la monarquía provocando, todo ello, que la ciudad se viera envuelta en un contexto de cri-sis económica.

Políticamente, Cataluña estuvo bas-tante marginada a partir de la unión que se produjo entre Castilla y Aragón con los Reyes Católicos y, sobre todo, durante el reinado de Felipe II, quien no favoreció la recuperación del princi-pado tras los desastres económicos y demográficos del siglo XV. Fue enton-ces cuando el enfrentamiento entre las clases dirigentes catalanas y la monar-quía española cada día fueron más evi-dentes, especialmente con el reinado de Felipe IV. Fue entonces, cuando la ciudadanía de Barcelona, al verse afec-tada por unos elevadísimos impuestos dictados por el conde duque de Oliva-res, a los que se le añade los abusos cometidos por las tropas mercenarias del rey establecidas en Cataluña, se reveló el día 7 de junio de 1640, una rebelión conocida como el Corpus de sangre, el origen de lo que más tarde sería la Guerra dels Segadors.

La Guerra dels Segadors transcurrió desde el año 1640 hasta el 1651, ob-tuvo este nombre dada la mayoría de campesinos que formaban el bando catalán, dirigido por el presidente en-tonces de la Generalitat, el señor Pau Claris, bajo el lema de “viva la tierra y muera el mal gobierno”.

A pesar de recibir ayuda de los fran-ceses, el avance de las tropas castella-nas provocó finalmente en el año 1652 la capitulación de una Barcelona que volvió a estar bajo las órdenes del Rey de Castilla.

The decline that already preceded Barcelona since the late Middle Ages continued during the following cen-turies, was the cause of the tensions with the reign of Philip IV and the subsequent War of Segadors.

The end of the Middle Ages was for the city of Barcelona a period of decline caused mostly by outbreaks of plague and widespread food shortages, that reduced the population of Barcelona in the mid- fourteenth century, causing a real demographic crisis.

The maritime trade, which in earlier times had been one of the principal axes of the prosperous economy of Barcelo-na, was adversely affected due to the piracy and the opening of the East route through the Atlantic route. In addition, he joined the farmer’s revolts caused by the debt that the monarchy was drag-ging, all that the city was being involved in a context of economic crisis.

Como ya os habréis dado cuenta, este número es el primero bimensual desde que empezamos está anda-dura hace ya unos meses, por tanto, nuestra propuesta de ruta tendrá 2 variantes: la cocina navideña y lo que produce el mediterráneo durante las llamadas “calmas de enero”. Unos productos únicos que os diremos dónde y cómo comerlos.

Excepcionalmente no vamos a reco-mendar un restaurante, sino que tratán-dose de la Navidad, muchos son los que van a buscar ya platos preparados listos para servir. Como es natural, desde W2B defenderemos siempre todo aquel pro-ducto, plato, idea o receta que pase por la elaboración propia, pero hay que te-ner muy en cuenta que Barcelona cuen-ta con excelentes tiendas gourmets que, también en Navidad, preparan platos sencillamente exquisitos. Vamos a enu-merar algunos.

Semon. Tienda de arraigada tradición entre la clase alta de Barcelona por su estratégica ubicación. Pero no lo dejare-mos todo a su especial emplazamiento, sino a la larga experiencia que ha ad-quirido como empresa líder en catering y que, en estas fechas, prepara, envasa y sirve como nadie el mejor salmón del mundo: Benfumat.

Can Ravell. El espectáculo está en sus productos y en la propia tienda, un local modernista lleno de rincones que mere-ce la pena conocer. Sólo hay que subir una estrecha escalera giratoria hasta el piso superior y, después de haber ele-gido qué vas a llevarte, déjate aconsejar y que te cocinen uno de los menús más creativos y sabrosos que puedas probar en Barcelona porque, sencillamente, en Can Ravell lo primero es el producto.

Pasadas las navidades, ocurre en el mediterráneo un fenómeno sensacional. Los pescadores las llaman “las calmas de enero”. Son días de sol limpio y bri-llante y mar en calma. Días que son di-fíciles de volver a ver el resto del año. Y en esta época llegan a las mesas de los amantes de los productos del mar los erizos. En l´empordà, los erizos se comen crudos, con un poco de pan y, según el famoso escritor catalán Josep Pla, “mordiendo un poco de cebolla al que no debe faltarle un vaso de vino blanco”. Pruébalos, si no te gustan, al menos sabrás que existe un sabor tan singular como el erizo de mar.

Y ya por último, entre enero y febrero son los mejores meses del año para el lenguado. Recordemos que los del me-diterráneo, por su carne, dureza y tama-ño, son los más buscados. Y es en estos meses, cuando el lenguado esta deso-vando, servirlos con un golpe de aceite y una patata hervida es un plato marinero tan sencillo como extraordinario.

¿Qué tipo de arte gusta al turista?

El turista que visita el centro de Barcelona es muy variado, vienen de todos los países y con diferentes presupuestos, compran todo tipo de cuadros, aunque se muestran más interesados por artistas locales e imágenes de Barcelona. Yo me he especializado en pintura figurativa moderna y lo combino con exposiciones de escultura.

¿Como adapta su galería las preferencias del visitante?

La galería no ha variado mucho su línea artística ni su oferta, porque a muchos de los artistas que exponen desde siempre en la galería, les gusta pintar nuestra ciudad.

A nivel práctico hay pequeños detalles, como algunas nuevas rotulaciones y tarjetones en inglés. Hemos ampliado nuestro horario abriendo siempre que podemos los lunes por la mañana y no cerrando al mediodía, hemos mejorado el sistema de envíos al extranjero abaratando los costes de paquetería, los courier nos han mejorado los precios y hemos cambiado la forma de gestionar la devolución del IVA, ya que tramitándola nosotros mismos, aceleramos el proceso y el cliente recibe íntegramente el 21% sin comisiones intermediarias, lo que conlleva un mejor servicio.

¿En qué porcentaje está la compra-venta de arte por parte del turista respecto al cliente nacional?

Durante los tres últimos años hemos apreciado que en la temporada alta de turismo la compra por turistas puede llegar a representar el 70% del total, lo que representa una importante parte del volumen de negocio.

¿Al programar un calendario de exposiciones, tiene en cuenta los turistas?

Sí, se tiene en cuenta el turismo a la hora de programar las exposiciones, especialmente en Semana Santa y los meses de Junio, Julio, Agosto, Septiembre e incluso en los últimos años, Octubre.

A partir del año pasado hemos decidido abrir también en Agosto, en nuestra zona somos la única galería que abrimos ese mes.

y por último, la previsión de turistas para 2014 es aún mayor, ¿cómo afecta a su calendario de exposiciones?

No tengo un plan específico para el turismo durante el 2014. Ya que en realidad, día a día, constatamos que casi todos los artistas con los que trabajamos gustan al visitante extranjero.

En cuanto a la oferta, creemos, es muy atractiva y variada en estilo, temática y en los tamaños.

How can you adapt the gallery to the preferences of the visitant?

The gallery has not changed much its artistic line or its offer, because many of the artists exhibiting at the gallery like painting our city.

On a practical level there are small de-tails, as some new signage and flyer in English. We have extended our opening time and we open if we can on Monday morning and we don’t close at noon, we have improved the system for the deliv-eries abroad lowering the costs of par-cel delivery, the courier have improved us the prices and we have changed the way of managing the return of VAT, han-dle it ourselves, we accelerate the pro-cess and the customer receives entirely 21% without commissions intermediar-ies, leading to a better service.

What is the percentage of the purchase-sale of art by the tour-ist regarding the national cus-tomers?

During the last three years we have seen that in the high tourist season the tourist purchase can represent up to 70% of the total, representing a signif-icant part of the turnover.

When you program an exhibi-tion calendar, do you have the tourists in mind?

Yes, if we have in mind the tourism when we program the exhibitions, espe-cially at Easter and the months of June, July, August, September, and even in recent years, October.

La tarde del día 5 de enero es un día esperado durante todo el año, sobre todo por todos los niños. La cabalga-ta de los Reyes Magos llena las calles de Barcelona de magia e ilusión en medio del ambiente navideño que respira la ciudad.

El día 7 de enero empiezan en Bar-celona las Rebajas, una oportunidad única para adquirir cualquier tipo de producto a precios muy apetecibles gracias a sus grandes descuentos.

Si nos encontramos en Barcelona a partir del día 7 de enero y tenemos la intención de comprar algún tipo de pro-ducto, estaremos de suerte, porque ese mismo día empiezan las Rebajas, un evento que se ha convertido en uno de los acontecimientos más esperados de los ciudadanos españoles durante el año.

Sin execepción, las tiendas de Barce-lona ofrecen sus productos a un precio muy inferior y, si buscamos bien, encon-traremos verdaderas oportunidades que no podemos dejar escapar.

LA opinión de aquellos que visitan un destino tu-rístico es fundamental para conocer cómo es éste, con sus virtudes y con sus defectos. Por esa razón, en ‘Welcome 2 Barcelona’ les invitamos a par ti-cipar en una encuesta, donde podrá expresar de forma anónima sus conclusiones sobre su paso por la ciudad.

Para ello, sólo tendrá que leer con su dispositivo móvil el código QR que aparece en esta página. A par tir de ahí accederá a un breve cuestionar io que podrá completar en menos de un minuto. Muchas gracias por su colaboración.

• Always keep your belongings in sight.

• Protect your handbag and wallet on public transport and in crowded areas (markets, events…)

• Don’t allow your luggage to be handled by third parties and never check- in suitcases or bags which belong to other people, especially on international journeys.

• Keen an eye on your camera or video camera in places of leisure

• When you go to the beach or the swimming pool, only take what is essential

• If you use a vehicle, don’t leave valuable or noticeable objects in view

• As far as possible, try not to go to lonely or badly lit places

• Don’t trust suspicious attempts to “help” (someone advising you that there is a stain on your clothing or a problem with your vehicle, etc). These are usually attempts at robbery.

• In the street, never participate in games of chance and don’t accept “bargains”. These are undoubtedly swindles or scams.

At the hotel or apartment…

• Don’t leave keys, money or valuable items in your room. Use the safe deposit boxes.

• In communal areas (reception, restaurants, swimming pool) keep an eye on your baggage and personal ítems (bags, cameras etc.).

• Follow the same self-defence measures which are recommended by the Police in your own country: but be extra wary because you are in a city which is new to you.

• When walking about, only take essential documentation with you and don’t have valuable ítems (money, jewellery, cameras) on show.

• Be careful when you use automatic cash dispensers and try not to use your credit card in markets or to pay small amounts.

• In cafés and restaurants, don’t leave your belongings (telephone, cam-era) on top of the table and don’t hang your bag over the back of your chair.

• As far as possible, try not to walk around empty streets or poorly lit areas.

• Mantega sus pertenencias siempre a la vista.

• Proteja su bolso y su cartera en los transportes públicos y en las gran-des aglomeraciones (mercadillos, espectáculos…)

• Evite que su equipaje sea manejado por terceras personas y nunca facture a su nombre maletas o bultos de otras personas, especialmente en desplazamientos internacionales.

• Preste atención a su cámara fotográfica o de video en los lugares de esparcimiento.

• Cuando vaya a la playa o piscina, lleve sólo lo imprescindible.

• Si utiliza vehículo, no deje objetos de valor o llamativos a la vista.

• En la medida de lo posible, procure no transitar por lugares solitarios o poco alumbrados.

• Desconfie de “ayuda” sospechas (aviso de manchas en la ropa, avería en su vehículo, etc). Suelen ser argucias para robarle.

• En la calle no intervenga en juegos de azar ni acepte “gangas”. Seguro que es un engaño o un timo.

En hotel o apartamento…

• No deje en su habitación llaves, dinero u objetos de valor. Utilice las cajas de seguridad.

• En las zonas comunes (recepción, restaurantes, piscina) vigile su equi-paje y objetos personales (bolsos, cámaras, etc).

• Siga las mismas medidas de autoprotección que le recomienda la Po-licía de su país: precisamente por estar en una ciudad nueva esté más atento.

• En sus paseos lleve sólo la documentación imprescindible, y evite ha-cer ostentación de bienes valiosos (dinero, joyas, cámaras,…)

• Sea cuato cuando utilice cajeros automáticos y procure no pagar con tarjeta de crédito en mercadillos o para abonar pequeñas sumas.

• En los locales no deje sus pertenencias (teléfono, cámara,…) encima de la mesa, ni el bolso en el respaldo de la silla.

• En la medida de lo posible, procure no transitar por lugares solitarios o poco iluminados.
