Steps to Registering Your Child for the 2018-19 School Year

If your child is 5 years of age by January 1, 2019, s/he is eligible to register for Kindergarten for the 2018-19 school year. Registration can now be done online. Follow these steps to get your child registered once the portal is open.

Get Ready to Register

1) Go to stamfordpublicschools.org and click on the School Registration button on the left hand side of the page.

2) Scroll down and click on School Lookup Tool and follow the three steps so that you know the school your child will be attending.

3) Before starting the registration process, please scan the following documents and have ready on your computer or phone. These can be in the following formats: PDFs, picture files (jpeg, .gif,.png), or Word documents:

Original birth certificate (long form)

Photo ID of parent or legal guardian (Registration is by parent or legal guardian only/proof of legal guardianship is required)

2 forms of Proof of Address: Please see our Proof of Address Guidelines for more information.

If you rent you will need a current lease AND a current utility bill (phone, gas, electric, cable, or water.)

If you own you will need a deed or current tax bill or bank mortgage showing ownership of a residence in Stamford AND a current utility bill (phone, gas, electric, cable or water.)

If you are not listed on a lease you must have a notarized residency form completed.

Current physical exam and immunization record: Current physical exam and immunization record. Please ask your doctor's office to use the Health Assessment Record.

Start the Registration Process

1) Go to stamfordpublicschools.org/KRegistration18-19 and click on the Click Here to begin.

2) Create an account. If you have an account log in.

3) Click on the 2018-19 school year.

5) Enter the required registration information.

6) Upload your scanned documents.

7) Submit your application.

8) Await receipt of email that your registration has been received.

9) Your registration will be reviewed and processed by a registrar.

10) A confirmation that your child has been registered to a school will be sent to you via email.

11) A welcome package will be mailed to your home by your district elementary school over the summer.

Cant Get Online?
