Dear Parish Family,

We are still celebrating this joyful

time of Easter, the resurrection ofChrist. It is during this time that we learn about

Christ’s glorious resurrection and his manyrevelations to the disciples and others. We also learn

about the apostles’ great enthusiasm in proclaiming

the risen Christ. The name of the risen Christ beganto resound in the ears of so many throughout

Jerusalem and neighboring towns. During Easter we

also learn about the apostles’ great fidelity and love

to the risen Christ.

Filled with the Holy Sprit the apostles proclaimed the risen Christ everywhere they went.

Suddenly, we also learn about the persecution and

attempt to silence the apostles. They accepteddishonor, insults, persecutions, and even martyrdom

in a spirit of fidelity to their master. They are

certainly inspiring figures for us. They motivate us

to love God above all things, to endure trials on behalf of Christ, and to be faithful to Him until the

end.

Finally, allow me to share this beautiful prayer

with which Pope Francis closed the Post-Synodal

Apostolic Exhortation Amoris Laetitia:

Jesus, Mary and Joseph, in you we contemplatethe splendour of true love; to you we turn

with trust.

Holy Family of Nazareth, grant that our familiestoo may be places of communion and prayer,

authentic schools of the Gospel and small

domestic churches.Holy Family of Nazareth, may families never

again experience violence, rejection and

division; may all who have been hurt orscandalized find ready comfort and healing.

Holy Family of Nazareth, make us once more

mindful of the sacredness and inviolability of

the family, and its beauty in God’s plan.Jesus, Mary and Joseph, Graciously hear our

prayer. Amen.

Pascua, la resurrección de Cristo. Es durante este tiempoque aprendemos sobre la gloriosa resurrección de Cristo

It is in accepting our sinful human nature

that we find God’s mercy and love.

If you want to see God’s unconditional love at work,

take a look at the 12-step recovery programs. There

everyone is accepted and supported. People are patient

with one another because they all share the samestruggle. Pope Francis reminds us that this is exactly

what God is inviting us to experience when we cometo him. We find acceptance; we find support; we find

mercy; and we find love – no questions asked. What

we do with that is our choice.

of Mercy are Open

Ponder

Am I really aware of the depth and power of

God’s love within me? Can I believe thatGod is using everything that I am to help

spread his message of mercy?

Pray Lord, grant that I might recognize the gift of

your healing, and give me the courage to knowthat I can rely on your faith in me to make me

an effective witness for others. Amen
