JESUS WALKS AHEAD OF HIS SHEEP

Our identity comes, not so much from our qualities, but from our relationship with Jesus the Good Shepherd. Faith enters through hearing, by listening to the Word of the Lord, and the biggest danger we face is deafness…

we don’t hear the voice of the Good Shepherd because our head is full of noise and other contrary voices. What is even worse, we “pretend to be deaf” knowing that God loves us and we turn a deaf ear. Jesus knows he is just another voice. He does not want to force himself on us. He invites us to listen to him. His voice is distinct, his message is different, his offer is generous, his power is big, his love never ends, his mercy is without limits, his voice reaches all, but he says: “Only my sheep hear my voice.” Belonging to Jesus is to listen to his voice. Listening is the action that makes a human relationship fertile and divine. Jesus loves, gives eternal life and goes out looking for this sheep. No one knows you better, no one loves you as much as Jesus. Listen to him and let yourself be loved by Him. Nonetheless, it is strange to see so many Christians not wanting to hear the voice of God, so loath to the idea of reading the texts of the Gospels. Do we know them well enough!...There is the real difficulty. How many times, in a Christian life, do we hear the Beatitudes, the story of the prodigal son, the Pas-sion…? By experience (I have spent my life scrutinizing these texts) I can respond two things: First, it is rare to find someone that knows the four Gospels in detail. Let us get this experience, we don’t just have the prodi-gal son or the six multiplications of the loaves, the thirty-three parables that teach us about the Reign of God… Second, and the most important, the Gospels are inexhaustibly new when you delve deeply in them, especially among several. You will get amazing riches from each passage, when you lis-ten well to what the Holy Spirit says in each one. We will dis-cover, then, the inimitable and abundant knowledge of this unique voice: “My words come from the Father”. And when you hear them you will feel like this knowledge that was forged for thirty years of human life resound the suffering and the tenderness throughout the ages and places in the world. Unique word – because it is meditative: it says all that is human in a divine voice. On the day of the Good Shepherd, how good that each parish loves and thanks each priest for their commitment and pastoral service to the community. They continue the Mission of Christ in the world. How good for us to help our youth feel the call to serve in the Church within the priestly ministry. By prayer and Christian testimony, we will have many and holy priests.! Blessings! Rev. JESUS VA DELANTE DE SUS OVEJAS

Nuestra identidad viene dada no tanto por nuestras cuali-dades, sino por nuestra relación con Jesús el Buen Pas-tor. La fe entra por el oído, por la escucha de la Pala-bra del Señor, y el peligro mas grande que tenemos es la sordera... no oímos la voz del Buen Pastor, porque tenemos la cabeza llena de ruidos y de otras cosas contrarias, o lo que toda-vía es mas grave, nos "hacemos los sordos", saber que Dios te llama y nos damos por aludidos. Jesús sabe que es una voz mas. No quiere forzarnos. Nos invita a escucharle. Su voz es distin-tita, su mensaje es diferente, su oferta es generosa, su poder es grande, su amor no se agota, su perdón es sin limites. Su voz llega a todos, pero dice: "Solo mis ovejas escuchan mi voz". Ser de Jesús es escuchar su voz. La escucha es el abono que hace fértil una relación humana y también una relación divi-na. Jesús ama, da la vida eterna y sale al encuentro de sus ove-jas. Nadie te conoce mejor, nadie te ama tanto como Jesús. Es-cúchale y déjate amar por El. Sin embargo, es extraño ver a tantos cristianos tampoco dispues-tos a escuchar la voz de Jesús, tan reacios a la idea de tomar los textos del Evangelio. Los conocemos bastante!.... Allí esta la verdadera dificultad. Cuantas veces, en una vida cristiana, se oyen las Bienaventuranzas, la historia del hijo prodigo, la Pa-sión... Por experiencia (he pasado mi vida escrutando estos textos), puedo responder dos cosas: Primero, es muy raro encontrar a alguno que conozca los cuatro Evangelios en detalle. Hagamos la experiencia, no solo tenemos al hijo prodigo o a la seis multiplicaciones de los panes! las treinta y tres parábolas, que nos ensenan acerca del Reino de Dios... Segundo, lo mas importante, los Evangelios son inagotablemen-te nuevos cuando se profundiza en ellos, sobre todo entre varios. Asombrosa riqueza la de cada uno de sus pasajes, cuando se escucha bien lo que el Espíritu dice a cada uno. Descubrimos, entonces, la inimitable y abundante sabiduría de esta voz única: "Mis Palabras vienen de mi Padre". Y al escucharlas se siente que esta sabiduría ha sido forjada por treinta anos de vida humana y que en ellas resuena el sufrimiento y la ter-nura que tocan todas las épocas y lugares del mundo. Palabra única porque es mediadora: dice todo lo humano en tono divino. En el día del Buen Pastor, que bueno que cada parroquia, ama y agradezca a cada sacerdote su entrega y servicio pastoral a toda la comunidad. Ellos continúan la Misión de Cristo en el mundo. Que bien que nos preocupemos por ayudar a los jóvenes que sientan el llamado a servir en la Iglesia, dentro del ministerio sacerdotal. SUNDAY OFFERING MAKES A DIFFERENCE If we all give a little bit more than we usually give the Lord on Sunday we can increase the Sunday Collection. We are a large community, with many parishioners, and we have remained in the same weekly Sunday collection on average of $9,500.00 for the expenses and needs of the Parish. We need a little more of your help, please let us try to increase the Sunday Collection to $12,500.00… that should be the goal for this year 2020. SU OFRENDA DOMINICAL HACE LA DIFERENCIA Si todos damos un poquito más de lo que acostumbramos dar al Señor el Domingo, podemos aumentar la Colecta Dominical. Somos una Comunidad grande, con muchos feligreses, y nos hemos quedado en una colecta Dominical semanal de $ 9,500,00 para los gastos y necesidades de la Parroquia necesi-tamos un poco más de su ayuda, tratemos de llevar la Colecta Dominical a los $ 12,500,00, esa debe ser la meta de este año 2020.

Sentimos mucho que esta situación de tener la oficina cerrada y cancelar las actividades de los Ministerios se extienda unas semanas mas. Tenemos la esperanza que ya estamos acercándonos a la posibilidad de reco-menzar con algunas precauciones, pero todavía no hemos recibido esta orden. Pedimos su paciencia y oraciones!
