Dear Brothers and Sisters; May the peace of a resurrected Christ be with all of you! It didn’t bother Jesus the silence of the sepulcher, nor the mock of the unbelievers, nor the abandonment of his disciples. Jesus even descended into hell where the seed of evil and Satan’s pride dwells. He was willing to pay the prize for our justification. From the utmost entrails of the nether world he raised victorious, luminous and powerful. The resurrection became the central mystery of our redemption. It announced to us that God’s love is so bountiful, fruitful and ineffable that all nature has been redeemed by Jesus’ resurrection. God’s love has broken the chains of sin and death giving us a place in His heavenly Kingdom. For such we say, “The Lord is risen… Alleluia! As we celebrate this eternal gift, let us come together this Easter Sunday and celebrate the Eucharist with joy, vigor and hope! Let us pray together for the welfare of our community of St. Aloysius. Allow the light of Christ to conduct our steps as we evolve into a community with new faces, new ideas and new ways of building a civilization of love here in our parish and our neighborhood. As we go home let us have the same passion for our Lord’s Resurrection by announcing the Easter’s anthem “Oh death, oh death, Where is your sting?” with our family dinners, Easter eggs hunt, visits to our neighbors and especially visits to our hearts which have found hope in an empty sepulcher. Mateo 28:6 Amadísimos Hermanos y Hermanas; ¡Qué la paz de un Cristo resucitado esté con todos ustedes! No le molestó a Jesús el silencio del sepulcro, ni la burla de los incrédulos, ni el abandono de sus discípulos. Inclusive descendió

a los infiernos donde está la semilla del enemigo y donde vive la soberbia de Satanás. Él estuvo dispuesto a pagar el precio por nuestra justificación. Desde las entrañas del mundo subterráneo él se levanta victorioso, luminoso y todopoderoso. La resurrección se convierte en el misterio central de nuestra redención. Nos anuncia que el amor de Dios es tan fructífero e inefable que toda la naturaleza ha sido redimida por la resurrección de Jesús. El amor de Dios rompió todas las cadenas del pecado y de la muerte dándonos un lugar en su Reino Celestial. Por eso decimos, “¡El Señor resucitó, Aleluya! ¡Al celebrar este don eterno, unámonos en este domingo de Pascua y celebremos la Eucaristía con gozo, vigor y esperanza! Oremos unidos por el bienestar de nuestra comunidad de San Luis Gonzaga. Permitamos que la luz de Cristo dirija nuestros pasos al evolucionar en una comunidad con nuevos rostros, nuevas ideas y nuevas formas de construir una civilización de amor aquí en nuestra parroquia y nuestro vecindario. Al ir a nuestros hogares que tengamos la misma pasión por la resurrección de nuestro Señor anunciando nuestro himno Pascual “La muerte… ¿Dónde está la muerte? ¿Dónde su victoria?”, en nuestras cenas familiares, búsqueda de huevos de Pascua, visitas a nuestros vecinos y visita a nuestros corazones que han encontrado esperanza en un sepulcro vacío. The Prayer Shawl Ministry meets every Wednesday in the Thiele Center from 10am to noon. This group knits and crochets prayer shawls while praying individually and as a group for the recipient of each shawl. These shawls represent a visible symbol of our prayers and presence. Shawls have been given to those facing challenging times, illness or to celebrate a special moment to bring the comfort and warmth of God’s love and healing. Many thanks from St. Al's Ladies Service Association! SALSA and a group of volunteers from St. Al's hosted a St. Patrick's Day party for the 160 adult residents of Winston Manor on Sunday March 19, 2017. We handed out snacks, goodie bags, T-shirts and toiletries, among other miscellaneous items. We had a large turnout (about 100 people) in the first floor lunchroom, and 3 volunteers went to the upper floors to visit those residents who could not come down to the party room. Everybody enjoyed themselves immensely. Thanks to all who donated items for the party, helped to make the goodie bags, and visited with us. We would not have been able to continue this party without your generous donations and help. Thanks, parishioners of St. Aloysius!

¡Muchas gracias de parte de la Asociación de Servicio de las Damas de San Luis Gonzaga! SALSA y un grupo de voluntaries de San Luis Gonzaga auspició una fiesta del Día de San Patricio para los 160 adultos residentes de Winston Manor el domingo, 19 de marzo del 2017. Entregamos aperitivos, bolsas de regalos, camisetas y artículos de aseo, entre otros diversos artículos. Tuvimos una gran participación (alrededor de 100 personas) en el primer piso del comedor, y 3 voluntarios fueron al Segundo piso a visitor a aquellos residentes que no pudieron bajar al salón de fiesta. Todos disfrutaron grandemente. Gracias a todos los que donaron artículos para la fiesta, ayudaron a hacer las bolsas de regalos, y visitaron con nosotros. No hubiéramos podido continuar con esta fiesta sin su generosa donación y ayuda. !Gracias, feligreses de San Luis Gonzaga!

Dear Sisters and Brothers in the Risen Lord, This year’s Easter gospel comes to us from Saint Matthew. He describes Easter morning. Women go to the tomb at dawn on the first day of the week. An angel appears and speaks to them: “Do not be afraid! I know that you are seeking Jesus the crucified. He is not here, for he has been raised just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples.” In these words, we find the essential Easter message directed to each one of us today in our uncertain world and amid the painful burdens we carry: do not be afraid, come and see, go and tell. Easter eases our fear when we come to know God’s triumph in the resurrection of Jesus. Easter invites us to come and see with fresh eyes what God has done in conquering sin and death. Easter summons us to go and share our faith and hope with others. When we hear this message and recognize Jesus Christ as the Risen Lord of life, how can we not praise and thank God? How can we not walk together with new confidence and hope? In a time when violence and death-dealing forces seem rampant in the world and even in our own neighborhoods, we truly need new confidence and hope. And when we listen to the Lord, as we have been trying to do in the Archdiocese of Chicago, to seek directions for the renewal of our local Church, we surely need new confidence and hope. Pray with me that we may all truly hear the words—do not be afraid, come and see, go and tell—and so draw new life from them for our loved ones, our world, our city and metropolitan area, our Church, and our very selves. Queridos hermanos y hermanas en el Señor Resucitado,

El evangelio Pascual de este año proviene de San Mateo. En él describe la mañana de Pascua. Las mujeres van a la tumba al amanecer el primer día de la semana. Un ángel se aparece y les habla: “¡No teman! Sé que están buscando a Jesús el crucificado. Él no está aquí, porque ha

resucitado tal como lo dijo. Vengan, vean el sitio donde yacía. Luego vayan enseguida y cuéntenlo a sus discípulos”. En estas palabras encontramos el mensaje esencial de la Pascua dirigido hoy día a cada uno de nosotros, en nuestro mundo incierto y en medio de las cargas dolorosas que llevamos: no teman, vengan y vean, vayan y cuéntenlo. La Pascua alivia nuestro miedo cuando llegamos a conocer el triunfo de Dios en la resurrección de Jesús. La Pascua nos invita a acercarnos y ver con ojos nuevos lo que Dios ha hecho al conquistar el pecado y la muerte. La Pascua nos invita a ir y compartir nuestra fe y esperanza con los demás. Cuando escuchamos este mensaje y reconocemos a Jesucristo como el Resucitado Señor de la vida, ¿cómo negarse a alabar y dar gracias a Dios? ¿Cómo negarse a caminar juntos con nueva confianza y esperanza? En un momento en que la violencia y las fuerzas mortíferas parecen rampantes en el mundo, e incluso en nuestros propios vecindarios, realmente necesitamos una nueva confianza, una nueva esperanza. Y cuando escuchamos al Señor, como hemos estado intentando hacer en la Arquidiócesis de Chicago, para buscar nuevos caminos para la renovación de nuestra Iglesia local, es seguro que surge la necesidad de tener nueva confianza y esperanza. Oren conmigo para que todos podamos escuchar verdaderamente estas palabras: no teman, vengan y vean, vayan y cuéntenlo, y que al hacerlo obtengamos de ellas nueva vida para nuestros seres queridos, para nuestro mundo, nuestra ciudad y nuestra área metropolitana, para nuestra Iglesia y para nosotros mismos.

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION NEWS NOTICIAS DEL CATECISMO The Lord's Peace be with you! This Sunday we celebrate the Resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God the Father and Second Person of the most Holy Trinity. This breathtaking and earth shattering momentous event is the reason we His followers are called to be people of eternal hope. Each Sunday throughout the Liturgical Calendar Catholics celebrate the Resurrection. And in praying the Holy Rosary on Sundays we meditate on the Glorious Mysteries- the Resurrection and Post-Resurrection events. As Christ defeated death He restored us to a new grace filled life in the loving merciful Spirit of God. We are a resurrection people when we live our lives in this Truth. Every day is filled with new and amazing opportunities for us to surrender to God’s Divine Will for our lives. The more we submit to His perfect plan the more graces we receive to live in communion with God and with one another. ¡La Paz del Señor esté con ustedes! Este Domingo celebramos la Resurrección de nuestro Señor y Salvador Jesucristo, el unigénito Hijo de Dios Padre y la Segunda Persona de la Santísima Trinidad. Este impresionante y devastador acontecimiento trascendental es la razón por la cual como sus seguidores somos llamados a ser personas de eterna esperanza. Cada Domingo del Calendario Litúrgico celebramos la Resurrección, y al rezar el Santo Rosario los Domingos meditamos sobre los Misterios Gloriosos - los acontecimientos de la Resurrección y Post-Resurrección. Al derrotar Cristo la muerte Él nos restauró a una vida de gracia abundante en el amor misericordioso del Espíritu de Dios. Al vivir nuestras vidas basadas en esta Verdad nos convertimos en personas de resurrección. Cada día nos ofrece nuevas y sorprendentes oportunidades para poder entregarnos a la Voluntad Divina de Dios para nuestras vidas.
