Santa Pola, con una situación privilegiada, cuenta con 15 kilómetros de costa de los cuales 11 son de playas con aguas cristalinas orientadas al sur. Algunas de ellas son adaptadas y accesibles, y en muchas encontrarás una excelente gastronomía basada en el “Peix de Santa Pola”.

Pero la calidad de sus aguas no es lo único que impresiona, hay un gran número de actividades que puedes hacer desde que sale hasta que se pone el sol.

La bahía de Santa Pola ofrece durante todo el año unas condiciones únicas para la práctica de deportes náuticos como Kitesurf, SUP (Paddle Surf), Windsurf, Kayak, Vela Ligera, Natación o Buceo. También ofrece paseos en patines de agua, partidos de voley-playa, divertidos hinchables acuáticos o espectaculares atardeceres junto al Parque Natural de las Salinas.

Ahora bien, si eres de los que prefieren las playas menos concurridas, podrás elegir entre playas naturales, tranquilas y alejadas del núcleo urbano, como las calas que bordean el cabo, situadas en un entorno natural incomparable.

Santa Pola enjoys an enviable location, with 15 kilometres of coastline, 11 of which are south facing beaches bathed with crystal clear water. Some of them are adapted and accessible, and on many of them you’ll find an excellent range of fine food based on the famous “Peix de Santa Pola”, as the local fish dishes are known.

But the fantastic water quality is not the only impressive feature of these beaches, they also have a huge range of activities to keep you amused from dawn till dusk.

Santa Pola bay has the ideal conditions all year round for practising water sports like kite surfing, SUP (stand-up paddle boarding), windsurfing, kayak, dinghy sailing, swimming and scuba diving.You can take pedalo trips, play beach volleyball, have fun on water inflatables and watch spectacular sunsets near Las Salinas Nature Park.

But, if you’re the kind of person who prefers a quieter life, you can go back to nature and choose from a series of peaceful beaches away from the town centre, like the coves around the headland, all set in beautiful surroundings.

Todas las playas de Santa Pola cuentan con el reconocimiento de AENOR al estar certificadas según normas internacionales de Gestión de Calidad ISO 9001 y Gestión Ambiental ISO 14001, contando algunas de ellas además con galardones internacionales como Bandera Azul y diversas Distinciones Temáticas en Accesibilidad y en Información y educación Ambiental.

Asimismo recientemente se han obtenido varios reconocimientos por parte de la Asociación Técnica para la Gestión de Residuos Aseo Urbano y Medio Ambiente (ATEGRUS), como ha sido la Escoba de plata y la Bandera Ecoplayas por ser pioneros en la recuperación de la arena de la playa a través del cribado de la posidonia oceánica.

Participa y diviértete colaborando en las campañas ambientales que el Serviciode Calidad de Playas ofrece cada verano a niños y familiares, como por ejemplo:talleres de reciclaje de residuos, visitas guiadas al Centro de Investigación Marinay actividades de voluntariado.

All Santa Pola’s beaches are approved by AENOR and are certified to international ISO 9001 Quality Management and ISO 14001 Environmental Management standards. Some of them even have won international awards like the Blue Flag and a number of Themed Awards for Accessibility and Environmental Information and Education.

Recently, Santa Pola also obtained several awards from ATEGRUS, the Spanish association for urban waste management and the environment (Asociación Técnica para la Gestión de Residuos Aseo Urbano y Medio Ambiente), including the Silver Broom and the Ecobeaches Flag, for its pioneering work in recovering sand on local beaches by sieving the sea grass (posidonia oceánica) that washes up on the shoreline.

Get involved and have fun by taking part in the environmental campaigns run by the Beach Quality Service every summer for children and families, like rubbish recycling workshops, guided tours of the Marine Research Centre and volunteering activities.

Las playas de Santa Pola cuentan con dos Puntos Accesibles totalmente adaptados y accesibles a personas con alguna discapacidad, movilidad reducida o dependientes. En el año 2002, la Fundación para la Educación Ambiental en Europa de Banderas Azules galardonó la playa de Levante dentro de la distinción temática de “Ruptura de Barreras Arquitectónicas y Atención a Personas con Discapacidades”.

Cada año desde las Concejalía de Playas y Servicios Sociales, en colaboración con la Agencia de Desarrollo Local y otros servicios municipales realizan todas aquellas actuaciones de mejora para poder ofrecer un servicio adecuado a las necesidades de los usuarios, como así lo acreditan PREDIF (plataforma representativa Estatal de Personas con Discapacidad Física) y la Fundación Caser nombrando las Playa de Levante y Gran Playa de Santa Pola entre las 8 playas mejor adaptadas y accesibles del Levante español.

Santa Pola’s beaches have two fully adapted Accessible Points for people with disabilities and reduced mobility, as well as their companions.

In 2002, the Blue Flag organisation, run by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE), gave Levante beach an award in the category of “Breaking Architectural Barriers and Care for People with Disabilities.”

Each year, the council department for Beaches and Social Services, in partnership with the Local Development Agency and other municipal services, carries out whatever work is necessary for providing a service that meets users’ needs. This is has earned it the approval of PREDIF (the State representative organisation for People with Physical Disabilities) and of the Caser Foundation, which have named Levante beach and Santa Pola Main Beach as two of the eight best adapted and most accessible beaches along Spain’s Levante coast.

La Gola beach in Santa Pola has one of the few areas in Spain designated solely for kitesurfing.Conditions on this beach are excellent for kitesurfing, whether you are an expert or if you are aiming to start learning the sport throughout the year.

Una bahía resguardada, aguas tranquilas y vientos constantes hacen de Santa Pola un lugar perfecto para practicar o aprender Windsurf, Vela Ligera, Kayak o piragüismo o el deporte más de moda en estos momentos, el Paddle Surf (SUP).

A lo largo de los 11 km. de playas podemos encontrar varias Escuelas y Clubes donde podrás empaparte de todos estos deportes en un ambiente apasionado por el mar. Todas estas ubicaciones cuentan con canales debidamente balizados para la práctica de estos deportes, no interrumpiendo las zonas de baño.

The sheltered bay, calm sea and steady breeze all make Santa Pola the perfect location for practising or learning windsurfing, dinghy sailing, kayak, canoeing and the increasingly popular sport of SUP (stand-up paddle boarding).

En Santa Pola se realiza la Travesía a nado Tabarca-Santa Pola, considerada una de las 100 mejores travesías en aguas abiertas del mundo. Organizada por el Club Natación Alone, ha conseguido enganchar a la natación a muchos deportistas venidos de otras disciplinas y a personas que han encontrado en este deporte, una manera muy completa de mantenerse en forma.

Santa Pola cuenta con uno de los pocos canales balizados y medidos para la práctica de esta disciplina. Un canal de 1000 m. donde podrás entrenar a lo largo de todo el año en un entorno seguro, con boyas cada 50 m.

Santa Pola is where the Tabarca-Santa Pola open water swimming event is held, regarded as one of the 100 best open water swims in the world. The event is organised by Club Natación Alone swimming club and has inspired many sports enthusiasts from other disciplines to start swimming, as well as experienced swimmers who have found that this is a great way of maintaining all-round fitness.

Santa Pola has one of the few channels in Spain with marked out and measured open water swimming channels.There’s a 1000 meters channel where you can train all year round in a safe environment, with buoys every 50 meters.

La empresa Ostres de la Badia, responsable de la granja, junto con los clubes y las escuelas de buceo, ofrecen una actividad única en la zona: bucear y visitar la granja de ostras, conocer un poco de su historia, bucear en la Reserva Marina de Tabarca…y para finalizar, qué mejor que probar unas ostras!!

Local company Ostres de la Badia, which runs the farm, has joined forces with diving schools and clubs to offer a unique activity in the area - scuba diving and visiting the oyster farm, learning a bit more about its history, diving in the Marine Reserve, all rounded off with tasting some delicious oysters!!

You can also check out the possibility of visiting the farm by boat without having to dive.
