DE LA CRIBA DE ERATOSTENES A LA CRIBA DE ASCHERO: LA EVOLUCIN DE UN MODELO MATEMTICO Resumen La Criba de Aschero presenta un modelo matemtico que supera al de la Criba de Eratstenes, obteniendo un resultado similar con respecto a la obtencin de nmeros primos y eliminacin de nmeros compuestos pero con una mayor simplicidad operativa. Criba de Eratstenes La Criba de Eratstenes es un procedimiento para determinar todos los nmeros primos hasta cierto nmero natural dado. Esto se hace recorriendo una tabla de nmeros usando el siguiente algoritmo para los 1000 primeros nmeros naturales:

Empezamos en el nmero 2, resaltamos el nmero 2 como primo pero desechamos todos los mltiplos de 2 (es decir, desechamos 4, 6, 8, etc.). Se continua con el siguiente nmero no desechado en la tabla, en este caso el nmero 3, resaltamos el nmero 3 como primo y desechamos todos los mltiplos de 3 (es decir desechamos 6, 9, 12, etc.). El siguiente nmero no desechado en la tabla es el 5, resaltamos el nmero 5 como primo y todos los mltiplos de 5 (es decir desechamos 10, 15, 20, etc.). Y as, paso a paso se tachan todos los nmeros que no son primos.

El proceso termina cuando el cuadrado del mayor nmero confirmado como primo es menor que el nmero final de la lista.

Criba de Aschero La Criba de Aschero presenta un modelo que parte de un principio distinto, obteniendo el mismo resultado pero con un procedimiento mucho ms simplificado que el de Eratstenes para descubrir en este caso los 168 nmeros primos dentro de los primeros 1000 nmeros naturales. Veamos como:

Empezamos por escribir una cruz numeral con los tres primeros nmeros impares dejando el 1 y el 5 como inicio y el 3 como centro (nmero primo que junto al 2 quedan separados de la operatoria).

Conclusin Con esto se finaliza esta muestra aritmtica con el resultado de que para analizar los nmeros primos comprendidos dentro de los1000 primeros nmeros naturales, se parte de 333 nmeros que al cribarse se sintetizan en 168 nmeros primos y 165 nmeros compuestos.

Este modelo matemtico simplifica el propuesto por Eratstenes por contener menos operadores y mayor simplicidad en su resolucin. Y tal como la Criba de Eratstenes, la Criba de Aschero es aplicable a todos los nmeros primos conocidos y por conocer.
