24The Apostolic Succession through the Ordre du Temple of KTZ

In 1804 several Frenchmen, including a former Roman Catholic priest, Bernard Fabré-Palaprat (1777-1838), founded the Ordre du Temple and declared it to be a continuation ofthe medieval Templar Order suppressed in 1312. Many former RC clergy joined the orderand the affiliated church, Eglise Johannite des Chrétiens Primitifs, which was influential inthe revival of esoteric Catholicism and Templarism. Several churches and orders, includingour own, are proud to trace a line of Apostolic Succession through this nineteenth centuryneo-Templar movement.
