La Davidoff Art Initiative se encuentra en el proceso de culminación, lo que constituye la pieza clave de su programa de intercambio de residencias: una nueva residencia en Altos de Chavón, La Romana, República Dominicana, que acogerá, a lo largo del año, a artistas proce-dentes de todo el mundo.En enero de 2015, Davidoff In-ternational Art Residency dará la bienvenida a los cinco primeros artistas internacionales que re-sidirán en las nuevas instalacio-nes de la Escuela de Diseño de Altos de Chavón, en La Romana.La residencia abrirá sus puertas, con cinco estudios para artistas, obra del arquitecto Adolfo Des-pradel (anteriormente miembro del estudio de arquitectura londinense David Chipperfield Architects), en la prestigiosa Escuela de Diseño de Altos de Chavón.El proceso de selección de los cinco artistas se realizará exclusivamente por invitación y contará con la asistencia de una red internacional de expertos que nominarán a los candida-tos al programa de residencias. El jurado que designará a los nominados en 2015 está consti-tuido por: Aaron Cézar, director y fundador de Delfina Foundation

en Londres; Amanda Coulson, cofundadora y directora ejecu-tiva de VOLTA y directora de la National Gallery of The Baha-mas; Charles Desmarais, presi-dente del San Francisco Art Ins-titute; Mareike Dittmer, coeditor de Frieze d/e Magazine y asesor de Frieze Magazine; Pablo Helguera, director del programa de formación para adultos del Departamento de Formación del Museo de Arte Moderno de Nueva York; Irene Hofmann, directora de Phillips y comisa-ria jefe del SITE de Santa Fe; y Philip Tinari, director del Ullens Center for Contemporary Art de Pekín. En otoño de 2014 se darán a conocer los nombres de los cinco artistas seleccionados. El Consejo Asesor Internacional de Davidoff, constituido por Ro-cío Aranda-Alvarado, Dominique Bluhdorn, Sara Hermann, Andras Szántó, Pablo León de la Barra y Hans-Kristian Hoejsgaard, comunicará su decisión final en septiembre de 2014.A finales de enero de 2015, poco después de la llegada de los artistas internacionales, se celebrará la segunda edición del Davidoff Art Weekend, en colaboración con la Escuela de Diseño de Altos de Chavón y Casa de Campo.

The Davidoff Art Initiative is in the final stages of completing the centerpiece of its global Art Residency program: a new annual residency for inter-national artists at Altos de Chavón, La Romana, Domini-can Republic.In January 2015, the Davidoff International Art Residen-cy will welcome its first five international artists to new facilities at Altos de Cha-vón School of Design in La Romana. The residency will open with five custom-built artist studios designed by Adolfo Despradel, Director of Planning and Design, Costa-sur Dominicana S.A. (formerly an architectural designer at David Chipperfield Architects, London) at the prestigious Altos de Chavón School of Design in La Romana, Domini-can Republic.The selection process for the five artists is by invitation only, facilitated with a global network of art experts who are serving as nominators to the residency program. The nominators for 2015 are: Aaron Cézar, founding direc-tor of Delfina Foundation in London; Amanda Coulson, co-founder/executive direc-

tor of VOLTA and director of the National Gallery of The Bahamas; Charles Desmarais, president of the San Fran-cisco Art Institute; Mareike Dittmer, co-publisher of Frieze d/e Magazine and publishing consultant of Frieze Magazi-ne; Pablo Helguera, director of adult and academic programs in the Department of Educa-tion at the Museum of Modern Art, New York; Irene Hofmann, the Phillips Director and Chief Curator of SITE Santa Fe; and, Philip Tinari, director of the Ullens Center for Contempo-rary Art in Beijing. The five selected international artists will be announced in the fall of 2014. Final decisions will be made in September 2014 by Davidoff’s International Advisory Council, which inclu-des Rocío Aranda-Alvarado, Dominique Bluhdorn, Sara Hermann, Andras Szántó, Pablo Léon de la Barra and Hans-Kristian Hoejsgaard.Soon after the arrival of the international artists, in late January 2015, the second annual Davidoff Art Weekend will be held in collaboration with Altos de Chavón School of Design and Casa de Campo in the Dominican Republic.
