rólogoDesde el inicio de esta administración, mi compromiso y el de mi equipo fue gobernar decidiendo junto con los habitantes de la Ciudad de México.La encuesta global Mi Mundo recupera ese espíritu democrático de escuchar y tomar en cuenta la opinión de los jóvenes, quienes han contribuido con su perseverancia, talento y creatividad a que la capital del país tenga una visión de avanzada.Los resultados de la consulta permitieron conocer las prioridades de 1.6 millones de personas, lo que representa el ejercicio de consulta pública juvenil más importante que se haya realizado en el país.Hace quince años, los Estados Miembros de Naciones Unidas aprobaron los Objetivos de Desarrollo del Milenio (ODM) con el fin de erradicar la pobreza extrema y promover el desarrollo humano sostenible.Los resultados alcanzados son positivos, sin embargo, todavía hay mucho trabajo por hacer y

muchas necesidades por atender. En este sentido, los gobiernos locales tienen un papel fundamental en la búsqueda de mejores canales de comunicación, así como en la planeación de políticas públicas audaces que respondan a un diálogo cercano entre el gobierno y las personas.Las prioridades más votadas por los jóvenes de la capital del país fueron el acceso a “Mejores oportunidades de trabajo”, “Una buena educación”, “Mejor atención médica”, “Medidas de apoyo para quienes no pueden trabajar” y “Un gobierno honesto y receptivo”.Para el Gobierno de la Ciudad de México, los resultados vertidos en este Informe Ejecutivo constituyen un fuerte impulso para continuar priorizando acciones bajo el concepto de Capital Social, que busca ante todo generar mejores condiciones de educación, salud y empleo para los jóvenes, procurando conocer de viva voz sus anhelos y propuestas.

rologueFrom the beginning of this Administration, my commitment was to govern toghether with the citizens.My World global survey recovers that democratic spirit of listening and taking into account the perspectives of young people who with their perseverance, talent and creativity have contributed to make of our city, the vibrant capital of Mexico.The survey results allowed us to aproach the priorities of 1.6 millions of people, it represents the most important youth public opinion consultation that have been realized in the country.Fifteen years ago, Member States of the United Nations approved the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) with the purpose of eradicate extreme poverty and to promote the sustainable human development.

The results achieved are positives, however, a lot still remains to be done and many necessities to attend. In this sense, local governments have an important role to play in the search of better communication channels, as well as to plan bolder policies that answer to a close dialogue between the government and the people. The most voted priorities were: “Better job opportunities”, “A good education”, “Better healthcare”, “Support for people who can’t work” and “An honest and responsive government”.For my Government, the results of this Executive Report contribute to encorage actions under the concept of a Social Capital, that searchs to generate better conditions of education, health and employment for the young people, considering their main aims and proposals from their own voices.

El nombre de la delegación es en memoria al que fue presidente de México de 1920 a 1924. La Delegación Álvaro Obregón mantiene una fuerte raigambre cultural, asentada en la tradición de sus pueblos, sus barrios y sus colonias. Como es el caso del pueblo de San Ángel por mencionar alguno.

This borough was named after the President of Mexico, Álvaro Obregón who governed from 1920 to 1924. The Álvaro Obregón borough keeps a strong cultural heritage that is established in the tradition of its towns, neighborhoods and surroundings such as the San Ángel town to name just a few.

This is one of the most developed and urbanized boroughs and it is quite devoted to the trade and industry. Since the beginning of the XX Century, this borough began its unstoppable urbanization filled with big avenues, industries and refineries. In the same way, it contrasts with its mythical past as the corn cradle.

Es la delegación con menos analfabetismo, cruzada por la avenida más larga de la ciudad, Insurgentes, plena de comercios y restaurantes como el World Trade Center y la primera plaza comercial de la ciudad: Plaza Universidad. Todo lo anterior convive con el Parque Hundido que soporta el peso de réplicas de esculturas prehispánicas.

Benito Juárez is the borough with the lowest illiteracy levels. It is crossed by the largest avenue in the city, Insurgentes which is full of restaurants and trades such as the World Trade Center and the first Mall in the city: Plaza Universidad. All of these coexist with the Parque Hundido (The Sunken Park) that supports the replicas weight of pre-Hispanic sculptures.

Dentro de esta demarcación siguen vivas las tradiciones de los pueblos originarios y se encuentra la imponente Ciudad Universitaria, nombrada Patrimonio de la Humanidad. A sus alrededores la tendencia urbana se apostó: la delegación cuenta con más de un millón de habitantes y el estadio de fútbol más grande del país.

500 years ago in Coyoacán, the conquer Hernán Cortez tortured Cuauhtémoc, the last Emperor of Tenochtitlan. Coyoacán is the best witness place of the Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo painting work. The traditions of the native towns are still within this area. In Coyoacán there is the magnificent Ciudad Universitaria (University City - University main campus), that was named a World Heritage Site. The urban tendency was positioned in its surroundings. The Coyoacán population is estimated in more than one million.

Una delegación de 8 mil hectáreas de las cuales 80 % son de reserva ecológica. Lugar lleno de manantiales que en algún momento fueron el gran surtido de agua de la ciudad. Refugio de Zapatistas durante la Revolución, inspiración de poetas y escenario de películas mexicanas. Su única industria fue la del hongo. Hoy se encuentran lo más modernos complejos empresariales y financieros como Santa Fe.

Borough with 8,000 hectares; 80% of it is a natural reserve. This is a place full of natural springs that in the past were the biggest water supply of the city. Cuajimalpa de Morelos was the shelter of the Zapatistas (Mexican insurgent group involved in the Mexican Revolution) during the Mexican Revolution. This borough has been a place of inspiration for many and the setting of mexican movies. Its only industry was the one of the mushrooms. Today, this borough is surrounded by modern multimillionaire complex such as Santa Fe.

Territorio de pueblos y capillas de tiempos de la evangelización, en la actualidad con modernas avenidas que conducen al Instituto Politécnico Nacional.

Sacred place since the pre-Hispanic period. This borough is in the mecca of the Catholicism in America: La Villa. For millions of years, this place has been the most visited catholic shrine to see Our Lady of Guadalupe. Place of towns and chapels from the evangelization period. Today, this borough has modern avenues that take us to the Instituto Politécnico Nacional (National Polytechnic Institute, IPN is the most important public technological higher education center in Mexico).

IztacalcoPasado de pueblos chinamperos, trajineras y barcos de vapor, donde hoy transitan los autos en la Calzada de la Viga. Aquí se encuentra el mercado más importante de pescados y mariscos. Es la delegación más pequeña de la Ciudad de México con escasos 23 kilómetros cuadrados.

Borough covered by old chinampero villages (man-made island for cultivation on lakes), trajineras (colorful gondola-like boats) and steamboats. Today, we see cars passing by Calzada de la Viga avenue. In this borough there is the most important market of fish and shellfish. Iztacalco is the smaller borough of Mexico City with barely 37 square kilometers.

Iztapalapa is the most populated borough in the city. Life is seen in every place of this borough, from the famous representation of the Christ crucifixion, to the Faro de Oriente, one of the most successful cultural avant-garde projects of the Mexico City. This borough is located on the east side of the city.

Aquí continúa la vida agrícola y se mantienen celebraciones y tradiciones. This is one of the greener regions of the Mexico City. From its high edges we can see the whole Valley of Mexico. The protected forests, enclosed in the mountainous area are at the same time, big spaces of recreation and lungs for the residents in our major city. This borough keeps the farming life-style and the Mexican celebrations and traditions.

From the circular pyramid of the archeological settlement of Cuicuilco we can observe the complex hospitals and trades, fundamental avenues for the vehicles and the group of traditional towns that today have been integrated to the major city. To go out for a walk in Tlalpan on the south side of the city is all that: its rural image and its look to the future, its legacy and its history.
