El Senado de Bolivia Después de haber compartido agrada-bles momentos en la Conferencia de Europa recientemente realizada en el Principado de Mónaco, me siento muy feliz de dirigirme a ustedes, mis nue-vos hermanos senadores.

Gracias a la invitación de la Presidenta de ASE Margaretha Eriksson a partici-par de tan importante evento y con el agrado de haber compartido en St. Louis, Missouri es muy agradable recordar esas experiencias y el haber podido hacer hermosas amistades. En la actualidad el Senado JCI Bolivia se encuentra más fortalecido que nunca y desarrollando actividades de confraternización en cada región de nuestro bello país, principalmente, gracias al trabajo desarrollado en los últimos 5 años, los cuales tengo la satisfacción de haber sido parte activa de la Directiva y de haber participado en los eventos más importantes de la JCI. En el plano nacional mi objetivo ha sido el de seguir motivando a los miembros de nuestra organización mediante la creación de incentivos econó-micos para que las organizaciones loca-les puedan tener un respaldo adicional que les sirva para su desarrollo y creci-miento. Es gratificante seguir apoyando a la JCI para seguir promoviendo nuestros valores y filosofía, como la satisfacción que tengo de haber colaborado en dos ocasiones al Programa desarrolla-do en el África, JCI Nothing But Nets el cual tiene tanto éxito. También me siento con el deber de devolver a esta gran organización de alguna manera todo lo que he recibi-do de ella, siendo parte de la Funda-ción JCI, considero que con este granito de arena se podrá hacer más para el bien de nuestra querida orga-nización. Gracias a los 16 años que formo parte de esta familia denominada JCI y con

el impulso de haber recibido un pre-mio mundial como directora en mi organización local en esa época llama-do Mottainai, solo me queda agrade-cer por esta oportunidad que me brindan, felicitarles por el trabajo realizado y desearles más éxitos.

Je remercie la présidente de l'ASE Margaretha Eriksson pour son invitation à partager cet évène-ment important. Actuellement le Sénat JCI de Bolivie se trouve plus fort que jamais et développe des activités dans chaque région de notre beau pays, principalement grâce au travail des 5 dernières années, durant lesquelles j'ai été active et participé aux évènements les plus importants de la JCI. Au plan national mon objectif a été de motiver les membres pour que les organisations locales puis-sent avoir une aide addi-tionnelle à leur croissance. Il est gratifiant de continuer à supporter la JCI pour promouvoir nos valeurs. J’ai aussi la satisfaction d'avoir collaboré au program-me développé pour l'Afrique, JCI Nothing But Nets, qui a tant de succès. Je ressens aussi le devoir de rendre à cette grande organisation tout ce que j'ai

reçu d'elle, en faisant partie de la Fondation JCI. Je consi-dère qu'avec elle on pourra faire plus encore pour le bien de notre chère orga-nisation. Grâce à 16 ans au sein

event. Actually JCI Senate of Bolivia is stron-ger than ever and develops activities

in every region of our beautiful coun-

try, mainly thanks to the work of the

last 5 years, in the course of which I

was active and participated in the

most important events of JCI. On the national level my objective

was to motivate the members so that the local organizations can have an

additional help to their growth. It is gratifying to continue to support

JCI to promote our values. I also have

the satisfaction to have collaborated

to the program developed for Africa,

JCI Nothing But Nets, who has so

much success. I also feel the duty to give back to this

big organization all that I received from her, by being a member of JCI

Foundation. I consider that we can

make more for the good of our belo-

ved organization. Thanks to 16 years within the JCI family and with the impulse of the world award received as director of the project Mottainai, I wish to thank the members of my chapter for the opportunity they offer me, to congra-tulate them on the realized work and to wish them some more of success.

One feel truly privileged when enter-ing the Mont Garni Golf Club (Mons, Belgium), realizing that the whole place is for us for 2.5 days. Here we have a bunch of people that share at least two important things: their passion for the game of golf and JCI. Some are low handicap good golfers and some are new to the sport, but all exhibit good sportsman-ship. This traditional tournament, the 23rd this year, gives us an excellent opportunity for networking; a round of golf easily takes 4-5 hours. With two rounds of golf, chipping and putting competition one should think that that was exercise enough for this crowd. But no. This year's Brazilian theme night got everyone on the dance floor for hours. The Sunday early shotgun start did not put any restrain on the spirit. The rest, the fun, the fellowship, the great food, and last but not least the amazing golf club and course. But as a first timer commented: “It is one of the rare moments where senators from multiple European countries are gathered for a full week-end, sharing their passion and good times.” Thank you to the organizers, and a special thanks to non-golfers, ASE president Jacques Arnal and lovely Annie, and deputy Ellen Olsen, for joining us.

Verdaderamente nos sentimos privile-giado entrando en el club de golf de Mont Garni (Mons, Bélgica) dándose cuenta que tenemos el lugar entero para nosotros durante 2,5 días. Tenemos aquí un grupo de personas que comparten por lo menos dos cosas importantes: su pasión para el golf y JCI. Algunos tienen el handicap débil de los golfistas buenos y algunos se presentan, pero ellos todos manifiestan una buena deportividad. Este torneo tradicional, el 23 este año, nos da una ocasión ex-celente para desarrollar nuestra red porque una partida de golf dura fácil-mente 4-5 horas.

Con dos partidas de golf, el chipping y el putting podíamos pensar que era bas-tante ejercicio. Pero no. La tarde sobre el tema brasileño tuvo todo el mundo sobre la pista de baile durante la una. La salida matutina del domingo no atenuó el entusiasmo. El resto, el entretenimiento, el compañerismo, la comida muy buena y para concluir el club excelente de golf. Pero así como un nuevo dijo: " Es uno de los momentos raros cuando senadores de países múltiples y europeos son reuni-dos durante un fin de semana completo, compartiendo su pasión y de momentos buenos. "

Gracias a los oraganizadores y un gra-cias especial a los no golfistas, el presi-dente del ASE Jacques Arnal y la encan-tadora Annie y la deputy Ellen Olsen, para su presencia. On se sent vraiment privilégié en entrant dans le Club de golf de Mont Garni (Mons, Belgique) en se rendant compte que nous avons l'endroit entier pour nous pendant 2,5 jours.

Nous avons ici un groupe de per-sonnes qui partagent au moins deux choses importantes : leur passion pour le golf et JCI. Certains ont le faible handicap des bons golfeurs et certains débutent, mais tous manifes-tent une bonne sportivité. Ce tournoi traditionnel, le 23e cette année, nous donne une excellente occasion de développer notre réseau car une partie dure 4-5 heures. Avec deux parcours de golf, du chip-ping et du putting on pouvait penser que c'était assez d’exercice. Mais non. La soirée sur le thème brésilien a tenu tout le monde sur la piste de danse pendant des heures.

Le départ matinal du dimanche n’a pas atténué l’enthousiasme. Le reste, l'amusement, la camaraderie, la très bonne nourriture et pour conclure l’excellent club de golf. Mais comme un nouveau a dit : "C'est un des rares moments où des sénateurs de mul-tiples pays européens sont réunis pendant un week-end, partageant leur passion et de bons moments." Merci aux organisateurs et un merci spécial aux non-golfeurs, le président de l’ASE Jacques Arnal et la char-mante Annie et la deputy Ellen Olsen, pour leur présence. The re-quest had come from the European academy to support the attendance of small and/or new NOMs. The board decided to make an investment for the future. Each participant has to give a report to get the grant.
