The catedral of Ourense

The catedral of Ourense was dedicated to San Martín, is Ourense´s principal religious monument.

It was built between halves of the XI century and outpast XIII. The catedral is catholic. His

architectural style is Romanesque and Gothic.

The head-board had a short list of staggered apses, though they have disappeared the wings on the girola

having had been constructed in the XVII century.

On the other hand, this ambulatory scarcely allows to see the central apse that has small bows on brackets in the cornice,

which influenced other Galician churches.

The principal apse had on the outside four columns and five large windows.

To the interior, a straight section exists presbiterial with vault of half a cannon and the chamber with columns attached to the walls that gather the nerves of reinforcement of the vault of

quarter of sphere, which, in turn, join in the key.
