    DRIVE TRAIN

    o Main shaft supported on two bearings

    o 3-stage gearbox with 2 parallel shafts and one planetarystage.

    o High-speed shaft connected to the generator by means ofa flexible coupling with a torque limiter system

    o Torque arms are used to attach the gear box to the frameby means of shock absorbers

    o The gearbox has a lubrication system which permitsattaining a degree of oil purity of up to 3m, whichreduces the potential number of malfunctions.

    o Main shaft design prevents any load except thetorque from being transmitted to the gear box, whichminimizes the occurrence of any problems with thiscomponent.

    o Gear box is allowed to be disassembled without theneed to take apart the main shaft.

    o Flexible coupling prevents overloading thetransmission chain.

    o Thanks to the modular design of the power train, theweight of the gear box is borne by the main shaft,while the shock absorbers joined to the frame reactto any torque, preventing the gear box from rotating

    and any undesired charges on the gear box.

    ACTIVE YAW

    o 4 electrical motors operated by WT controller based oninformation received from the anemometers mounted ontop of the nacelle

    o The yaw is active with hydraulic brake clamp that can beregulated gradually

    o The system is composed of 5 clamps avoid fatigues andfailures in the Yaw system.

    o The Gamesa Active Yaw system is submitted to acceleratedlifetime test cycles and aging tests on the Gamesa UPBtesting bench.

    o Combined activation of friction bearing and retentionclamps prevents fatigue and possible damage to thering.

    o The ring is divided into 6 sectors, in order to make iteasier to repair any possible tooth damage.

    o HALT tests ensure and improve the reliability of thiscomponent, validating its correct design andproviding feedback on the virtual models in order toredesign them, incorporating future improvements.

    PITCH SYSTEM

    o Independent hydraulic actuators for each blade that providea rotational capacity between -5 and 90

    o The pitch system is activated during the entire time the wind

    turbine operateso When the wind speed is below the rated speed, the pitch

    angle will be selected in order to maximize the electricalpower obtained for each wind speed.

    o When the wind speed is above the rate speed, the pitchangle will be the one that provides the machine's ratedpower.

    o Having an independent pitch on each blade providesredundancy for the aerodynamic brake system.

    o The hydraulic system has an accumulator system

    that allows the blades to be turned to their featheredposition, in case of an emergency.

    o The hydraulic system provides greater activationspeed than other types of systems. Due to thehydraulic accumulator system, no batteries arerequired for operation, which increases reliabilityduring emergency situations.

    ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS

    o The generator is a double-fed, 4-pole variety with awound rotor and slip rings. It is highly efficient andcooled by and air-air system.

    o The transformer is a three-phase, dry encapsulatedmodel, with different output voltage options anddifferent apparent power ranges. It has been speciallydesigned for wind energy applications.

    o The control system allows the system to work at variablespeeds, using the rotor intensity frequency control.

    o Optimal operation for any wind speed, maximizingthe production and minimizing loads and noise,thanks to the variable speed operation

    o Active and reactive power control

    o Synchronous behavior with regards to the grid.

    o The generator is protected from short-circuits andoverloads. The temperature is also continuouslymonitored by sensors

    o The transformer's location in the nacelle preventselectrical loss due to the reduced length of the low

    voltage cables, and it also reduces the visual impact.
