Smart Meters

9

Automatic meter reading (AMR)Advanced metering management (AMM)

Advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) It refers to integrated system for remote data collection of consumptions patterns and

events log of multi utility applications ( electricity, water, gas ,heat ) enhancing revenue

collection. Moreover, it enables remote control through bidirectional communication

systems.

These data represents the basic step for advanced applications as Outage

management , Asset management , Load management , Tampering detection ,Demand

Forecasting , Demand Response …..etc.

Smart Metering …Definition has never been clearer

10

Visual reading errors

Long billing cycle

Inaccessible regions

Labor cost for readings collection, disconnection for late payments and

integration of readings with billing system

Uncontrolled tampering loses

Late outage detection ( based on customers claims)

Limited customers awareness and response

Old Metering Systems…No longer adequate

11

Accurate timely remote collected data

Two way communication with remote control capabilities

Multi-utility integration ( electricity ,water, gas , heat)

Improving revenue collection and enhancing billing cycles

Deployment of Load management

Enhancing Asset management

Enhancing outage management

Enhancing demand response

Minimizing tampering loses

Smart Metering ….The way to Smart Grid Era

Elsewedy eBilling Software

Elsewedy eBilling Software (SeBill ™) for System Meters

• SeBill ™ is a very effective and flexible meter billing software. It has been developed to meet the needs of our different customers in various fields such as, residential, industrial and commercial.

• SeBill ™ is a complementary application to Iskraemeco’s SEP2W .

• The Billing Software for System Meters is primarily used to issue invoices to customers based on predefined Tariffs and readings done by Iskraemeco’s SEP2W Software through the collection and processing of data obtained from the metering points for which invoices, receipts and different reports can be made, additionally processed or stored.

• SeBill ™ will not only provide accurate figures for your meter readings, but also it can accurately produce estimates based upon historical usage if need be, thus ensuring that our customers are billed accurately and fairly

22

SeBill ™ constitutes the following features

1. Define Vendor data (Name, address, Logo, ect..)2. Define fees fields (Name, Value, percent or

amount) for every customer type3. View invoice(s) before issuing it4. Issue Invoices to customers (individually or

collectively) 5. Print Invoices in Arabic and English format6. The invoice will contain the first reading, the final

reading, fees and the total amount due. Also, it will contain the balance of the customer before and after the invoice.

7. Other services can be added to the total amount of the invoice like Water consumption or Gas Consumption.

23

8. Exception reports that show if there is any missing mandatory data that will block invoice issue.

9. Add Balance amounts to customers10. Issue Receipts to customers after receiving

payment.11. Report to show the balance of a chosen

customer12. Invoice amount will be deducted from balance

after issuing it13. In case of error with invoice amount,

adjustments can be made14. A schedule daily report will be generated that

shows the customers with min balance (after calculating consumption every day)

15.The user can specify the threshold (minimum balance in amount) and a report will be generated that view the customers below the threshold.

SeBill ™ constitutes the following features cont’d…

WHAT IS AN ELECTRICITY METERING & PAYMENT SYSTEM ?The diagram below illustrates a typical system. The example illustrates :- A consumer making a payment at the vending station- A token being generated by point of sale (POS) and given to the customer- The customer passes the information concerning this payment on to the meter by

the keypad
