Message from the Pastor Dear brothers and sisters, once again

the Archdiocese of Miami asks us to collaborate so that among all the parishes we will make this

weekend a symbol of unity by participating in the Charity and Development (ABCD) campaign.

Through this campaign we help the ministries of charity and assistance of many parishes especially attending to the poorest of our society; also through

the ABCD we help programs of evangelization and faith. The seminars receive part of this help so that future priests, religious and laity can receive the necessary training to meet the needs

in our communities. The goal is $ 35,000.00. Today I ask you to be generous in your annual contribution

to the ABCD. We can all do it together. May the Lord always bless your generosity

nuestra colaboración para que entre todas las parroquias hagamos de este fin de semana un símbolo de unidad participando en la campaña de Caridades y

Desarrollo (ABCD, por sus siglas en ingles). A través de esta campaña ayudamos a los ministerios de caridad y asistencia de muchas parroquias especialmente

atendiendo a los más pobres de nuestra sociedad, también a través del ABCD ayudamos a los programas de evangelización y de la fe. Los seminarios reciben

parte de esta ayuda para que nuestros futuros sacerdotes, religiosos y laicos puedan recibir la formación necesaria para atender las necesidades en nuestras

comunidades. La meta es de $35,000.00. Hoy les pido que sean generosos en su aportación anual al ABCD. Entre todos podemos hacerlo.

REFLECTION ABOUT THE PRESENTATION OF THE LORD The significance of this feast is brought out by the first reading, from

Malachi, which speaks of The Lord coming to occupy his temple. Malachi, however, depicts this as an almost terrifying event. Luke's Gospel, in contrast,

depicts The Lord coming to his temple in the form of the infant Jesus, seemingly without might or glory. But Simeon, the faithful servant of God

who had waited all his life for the Messiah, can recognize in this child the salvation of God.

Lord God, like Simeon we have waited for the revelation of your glory, and we believe that you have given us Jesus as a light to the nations.

May our lives reflect his light to all those in darkness. Amen

Marcha por vida 2017 – La Vida Importa

Cuando era joven, tuve un amigo que vivía no muy lejos de nuestra parroquia de Corpus Chris aquí en Miami, él vivía con su abuela y nunca conocí a sus padres.

Por nuestra amistad, mucho de su empo lo pasaba con nosotros en Hialeah compar endo empo en el grupo de jóvenes en St John el Apóstol, y pasando las tardes en los parques jugando baloncesto, pelota y futbol.

Una tarde en conversación, que no me recuerdo como comenzó, me dio a entender el por qué nunca yo había conocido a sus padres. El me confeso que sus padres no lo quisieron cuando su mama salió en estado, y que él era uno de los pocos niños que podían decir que habían sobrevivido un aborto, su abuela lo recibió cuando le dieron de alta y su abuelita tomo la responsabilidad que los padres nunca le ofrecieron.

Tes monios como este, es la razón por la cual en Enero, desde el año 1973 en Washington DC, se han reunido miles de personas para reconocer y hacer presente el derecho de nacer, diciendo presente por los que nunca pudieron decirlo, volviendo al Creador en un silencio total.

Desde que se legalizo el aborto en los Estados Unidos en el 1973, hasta Enero del 2016 hay reconocidos y documentados un total de 58,586,256 niños abortados, una cifra que crece a un promedio de 3,000 diarios.

Este Enero 27 (movido de la fecha del 22 de Enero, por la instalación del Presidente Trump) miles de jóvenes y adultos Norte Americanos y de muchos otro países se reunirán en Washington DC como lo han hecho cada Enero 22 desde el 1973 para reconocer y dar a entender que la vida se ene que respetar desde el momento de concepción hasta su fin natural.

En sus oraciones, recuerden y recen por el no nacido, recen por el que decidió abortar y el que lo está considerando, recen también por los que llevaron a cabo los abortos.

Que la misericordia de Dios, reciba al que fue rechazado, y perdone y consuele, aquel que sufre en silencio el llanto que nunca oyó.
