Trekking tour in Friuli

8 DAYS/7 NIGHTS

1st DAY Arrival at Venice airport. Transfer with private GT coach to Aquileia and meet with the guide for a trekking walk (half day) from Marina di Aquileia to Fiumicello (15 km), between lagoon and land. It will be possible to see many species of birds (garzette, aironi cinerini…). The group will reach the little bourghs of Belvedere and Boscat and finally the hill with San Marco’s church. Free lunch. Transfer at the hotel in Cormons, accommodation, dinner and overnight. 2nd DAY Breakfast in hotel and transfer to the Collio, for a trekking walk (half day) in the vineyards, with a lot of panoramic sights (2 hours). Then continue with a trekking walk along the Natisone river in Cividale (6 km). Walk till Purgessimo and then up to the hill where once rised the Gronumbergo medieval castle (ruines today). Free lunch and free visit of Cividale in the afternoon. Come back to the hotel, dinner and overnight. 3rd DAY Breakfast in hotel and transfer to Trieste for a trekking tour (half day) through the Natural Reserve of the Falesie di Duino, starting from Sistiana and arriving in Duino (2 km). Then transfer with the coach to Villaggio del Pescatore, where a natural hike tour leads to San Giovanni in Tuba, for the visit of the beautiful resurgences of the Timavo River (1 hour). Free lunch and free visit of Trieste in the afternoon. Come back to the hotel, dinner and overnight. 4th DAY Breakfast in hotel and transfer to Carnia. Stop in San Daniele del Friuli and tasting of the famous prosciutto. Accomodation in the hotel in Arta Terme. Meet with the guide and half day of trekking tour in the valleys surrounding the hotel (3 km) to learn about the picking up of herbs, how to recogniz e them and, once the group will come back to the hotel, how to cook them (it will take place a little cooking class). Free lunch. Dinner and overnight in the hotel. 5th DAY Breakfast in hotel and full day historical trekking excursion. Transfer by bus to Passo di Monte Croce (1500 meters), visit of the war trenches and then hike tour till Timau (possibility to visit the Great World War Museum - € 3,00 per person). Free lunch (possibility to organize a brunch/tasting of local products). Come back to the hotel, dinner and overnight. 6th DAY Breakfast in hotel and transfer by bus to Camporosso (Tarvisio). Full day trekking tour “Cammino del pellegrino” from Camporosso to Monte Lussari, 1790 meters (the way up by foot - about 2 hours and 30 min. and the way down by cableway). Free lunch. Dinner and overnight in the hotel. 7th DAY Breakfast in hotel and full day of religious trekking excursion (Cammino delle Pievi). Transfer with the bus to Illegio, walk until San Floriano to visit the great Pieve (church) and then reach Imponzo (15 km). Free lunch (possibility to organize a brunch/tasting of local products). Come back to the hotel, dinner and overnight. 8th DAY Breakfast in hotel and half day trekking tour in the Monte Zoncolan, to learn about the collection of mushrooms, how to recognize them and, once the group will come back to the hotel (3 km), how to cook them (it will take place a little cooking class). Free lunch. Transfer by coach to Venice airport and end of the services.
