EDITORIAL - EDITORIAL

La 21ª edición de la Feria Líder de Logística, Transporte, Intra-logística y Supply Chain del Sur de Europa fue una nueva de-mostración que el SIL es una Feria muy valorada y reconocida nacional e internacionalmente. Un punto de encuentro para todos los logísticos, que se ha ido consolidando con la ayuda inestima-ble de los profesionales y empresas del sector, que contó con una importante representación de todos los sectores que forman parte de la cadena de suministro y con una masiva afluencia de profesionales de los 5 continentes y con Aragón como Comunidad Autónoma invitada.

En la presente edición hemos vuelto a poner de manifiesto que el SIL es un Salón muy profesional, donde año tras año se reúne todo el sector de la logística y de la Supply Chain, donde todo está pensado para generar el mayor volumen de negocio, el máxi-mo número de contactos y para establecer el marco ideal para debatir el presente y el futuro del sector. Esta memoria que tiene entre manos es la mejor muestra de todo ello.

Y acabo con un gran agradecimiento al magnífico equipo que di-rijo por el enorme esfuerzo realizado, así como a todos ustedes por su apoyo, su confianza y su contribución a un éxito que es de todos.

The 21st edition of the Leading Exhibition for Logistics, Transport, Intralogistics and Supply Chain in Southern Europe has proved, once again, that SIL is a highly valued and nationally and inter-nationally recognized Fair. It is meeting point for all the logistics’ sector which has consolidated itself thanks to the invaluable help of the industry’s professionals and companies. All sectors that are part of the supply chain were represented at SIL, that had a mas-sive influx of professionals from the 5 continents and had Aragon as Guest Autonomous Community.

The latest edition has again demonstrated that SIL is a great pro-fessional exhibition that brings together the whole logistics and Supply Chain sector year after year, where every detail is desig-ned to generate the highest turnover, the maximum number of contacts and to provide the ideal context to debate the present and future of the sector. This report that you are holding is the best proof of what I’m saying. I would like to conclude with my deepest thanks to the magnificent team that I lead for their hard work, and to all of you for your sup-port, trust and contribution to a success that belongs to all of us.

Este año hemos organizado el SIL más potente de la historia con la celebración de siete importantísimos eventos internacionales que, por primera vez, han coincidido en un mismo lugar del mundo: Bar-celona. Del 26 al 28 de junio, además del SIL, celebramos el eDeli-very Barcelona -la Feria Internacional de la Entrega, Logística y Últi-ma Milla en el e-Commerce-, el Congreso Mundial de Zonas Francas y el InTrade Summit BCN que ha reunido el Congreso de ALACAT -el mayor congreso de operadores logísticos y agentes de carga de América Latina-, el MedaLogistics Summit, el Congreso Internacional de Operadores Económicos Autorizados (OEAs) y el Encuentro de Asociación de Zonas Francas de las Américas (AZFA).

En la presente edición el SIL ha dado un gran salto de calidad como feria de referencia mundial del sector. Edición tras edición hemos ido evolucionando y creciendo de la mano del sector, apostando siem-pre por la internacionalidad y la innovación con un modelo de éxito basado en potenciar los negocios, los contactos y el conocimiento. Por ello hemos vuelto a poner la mesa de diálogo donde se han de-batido los proyectos de desarrollo económico del sector y se han buscado soluciones a los retos que tenemos que afrontar de forma inmediata, fruto de los nuevos modelos económicos, la necesaria transformación digital de las empresas y el poder de un consumidor cada vez más exigente.

Quiero agradecer a todas las autoridades, asociaciones nacionales e internacionales que han colaborado, ponentes, patrocinadores, ex-positores, participantes, visitantes, medios de comunicación y a la ciudad de Barcelona por la confianza y apoyo que nos dan e invitar-les a visitarnos de nuevo el próximo año, en nuestra 22ª edición del 9 al 11 de junio de 2020, contribuyendo a hacer de nuestra ciudad el centro logístico mundial durante la semana del salón.

This year we have witnessed the most powerful SIL in history with the gathering of seven important international events that, for the first time, have coincided in the same place in the whole world: Barcelo-na. From June 26 to 28, apart from SIL, we have organized eDelivery Barcelona -the International e-Commerce Delivery, Logistics and Last Mile Exhibition-, the World Free Zones Congress and InTrade Summit BCN that encompassed the ALACAT Congress - the largest con-gress of logistics operators and freight forwarders in Latin America -, the MedaLogistics Summit, the International Congress of Authorized Economic Operators (OEAs) and the Free Trade Zone Association of the Americas (AZFA).

The latest SIL edition has made a great leap in quality as the industry’s world reference. We have evolved and grown hand in hand with the sector year after year, always committed to becoming more inter-national and innovative with a successful model based on boosting business deals, networking and knowledge. That is the reason why we have set the dialogue table again for the economic development projects of the sector to be discussed and solutions sought for the challenges that we have to face immediately, as a result of the new economic models, the necessary digital transformation of the compa-nies and the power of an increasingly demanding consumer.

I want to thank all the authorities, national and international associa-tions that have collaborated with us, speakers, sponsors, exhibitors, participants, visitors, media and the city of Barcelona for the trust and support they have given us and invite them to visit us again next year, in our 22nd edition from June 9 to 11, 2020, that will contribute to make our city the global logistics center during the week of the show.

El SIL ha sabido pasar de ser una feria de las que había hace 20 años -donde se venían

a exponer cosas a las cuales no había acceso si no eran en ferias- a ser una feria donde se hacen intercambios, donde se viene a hablar de ideas, donde lo que predominan son los foros, sobre todo los intercambios profesionales. Antes, en este tipo de ferias, abundaban una serie de visitas que sumaban en número, pero no eran de calidad. Ahora, a lo mejor hay menos visitantes que se interesan por el producto, pero el que viene y se interesa es un visitante de calidad. Eso es una apuesta difícil de conseguir en la cual la organización del SIL tiene mucho mérito”.Alfonso Valderrama, Director General de Crown Lift Trucks

SIL has evolved from a fair such as the ones that we had 20 years ago -where

exhibitors came to showcase products that couldn’t be seen otherwise- to a fair where exchanges are made, where people talk about ideas, where forums have a predominant part, as well as the professional exchanges. Beforehand, in this type of fairs, exhibitors had many visits but they lacked quality. Nowadays, there might be fewer visitors interested in the product, but the ones who do come and are interested in it are quality ones. El SIL permite poner en común el conocimiento logístico que igual estaba un poco disperso facilitando tanto a instituciones,

empresas como proveedores el estar en contacto y reforzar el concepto de la logística como núcleo de generación de negocio y de oportunidades o incluso un arma para la diferenciación. El SIL me ha sorprendido muy gratamente. La organización ha cuidado mucho los detalles desde lo que es la disposición de los stands, con las ágoras centrales que ha permitido un flujo de visitantes muy dinámico, hasta toda la gran variedad de conferencias que se ha realizado en las cuales también hemos podido participar. El Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona (CZFB), primer consorcio instituido en España (1916), es una entidad pública de dinamización económica, que opera principalmente en el área metropolitana de Barcelona.

Su actividad principal es gestionar el Polígono Industrial de la Zona Franca y de su Zona Franca Aduanera, así como administrar sus activos y favorecer la proyección internacional de Barcelona, Cataluña y España en los sectores ferial, logístico e inmobiliario. Para ello, dispone de más de 12.000.000 m2 de suelo industrial y urbano, en distintas fases de realización.

Su misión corporativa es propiciar el progreso social y la creación de empleo, a partir de la implantación industrial y logística, el desarrollo empresarial y de escenarios para la actividad económica, y la transferencia tecnológica. En cada ciclo histórico ha contribuido al crecimiento económico y social con iniciativas pioneras.

Los organismos rectores de la entidad están formados por representantes de las principales entidades del ámbito económico de Barcelona, representantes del Ayuntamiento de Barcelona y del Gobierno de España: las decisiones plenarias son un reflejo de su espíritu de concertación público-privada.

El Consorci de la Zona Franca (CZFB), the first consortium established in Spain (1916), is a public economic revitalisation organisation which operates mainly in the metropolitan area of Barcelona.

Its main mission is to manage the Zona Franca Industrial Estate and its Zona Franca Customs Authority. It also manages its assets and promotes the international projection of Barcelona, Catalonia and Spain in the exhibition, logistics and real estate sectors. The Estate has more than 12,000,000 m2 of industrial and urban land in various stages of development.

Its corporate mission is to promote social progress and job creation by fostering industrial and logistics growth, boosting business development and providing platforms for economic activity and technology transfer. Over the years it has contributed to economic and social growth in each successive cycle, thanks to pioneering initiatives.

The governing bodies of the organisation include representatives from the main financial organisations in Barcelona, the Barcelona City Council and the Spanish Government. Its plenary decisions are thus a reflection of a spirit of public-private cooperation.
