What does “Analytics” mean?
Merriam Webster Dictionary = “The method of logical analysis”
Gartner = "Analytics leverage data in a particular functional process (or application) to enable context-specific insight that is actionable.“
Me = The use of algorithms that enable software to detect situations significant enough to require human attention.
![Page 4: RC Presentation MSPCE 2016](https://reader035.fdocuments.ec/reader035/viewer/2022062523/58eca4751a28ab3d7f8b45db/html5/thumbnails/4.jpg)
Basics of Video AnalyticsVideo Analytics: The use of computer automation to process video to classify
people, vehicle, objects and analyze patterns of behavior Video analytics provide structure to unstructured video Structure makes video actionableThe case for Video Analytics: The human brain can process a static image virtually
instantaneously However, faced with 30 images a second of high resolution
images filled with small profile objects, the brain fatigues
![Page 5: RC Presentation MSPCE 2016](https://reader035.fdocuments.ec/reader035/viewer/2022062523/58eca4751a28ab3d7f8b45db/html5/thumbnails/5.jpg)
Basic Mall Environment – How much can you actually pay attention to?
![Page 6: RC Presentation MSPCE 2016](https://reader035.fdocuments.ec/reader035/viewer/2022062523/58eca4751a28ab3d7f8b45db/html5/thumbnails/6.jpg)
How many screens can you actually watch? Increasing camera count reaches a point of
diminishing return 99% of video is never seen. Cameras are not
displayed in real-time and video archives are too large to search effectively
During crisis situations large numbers of cameras complicate situational awareness
![Page 7: RC Presentation MSPCE 2016](https://reader035.fdocuments.ec/reader035/viewer/2022062523/58eca4751a28ab3d7f8b45db/html5/thumbnails/7.jpg)

Basics of Audio Analytics
Sound based rather than the visual of Video Analytics
Can be stand-alone, like ShotSpotter, or tied into a Video Surveillance System
Can be designed for various sound types
![Page 18: RC Presentation MSPCE 2016](https://reader035.fdocuments.ec/reader035/viewer/2022062523/58eca4751a28ab3d7f8b45db/html5/thumbnails/18.jpg)
Audio Analytics ShotSpotter The best known Audio Application on the market
today is ShotSpotter
![Page 19: RC Presentation MSPCE 2016](https://reader035.fdocuments.ec/reader035/viewer/2022062523/58eca4751a28ab3d7f8b45db/html5/thumbnails/19.jpg)
ShotSpotter Pros & Cons
ShotSpotter is an excellent tool for capturing specific shooting location information
Unless officers arrive very quickly the shooter could be long gone before they arrive, making arrests and convictions harder to achieve

Aggression Detection Description: 90% of physical aggression are preceded by verbal
aggression, the aggression analytics product allows security guards for fast actions. This aggression detector is capable of recognizing aggression in a person’s voice. Staff can thus be warned at an early stage, if someone is beginning to show signs of aggression. The system automatically and objectively detects (rising) human aggression, anger or fear, warns staff immediately (by a visual alert or by triggering an alarm) so that physical aggression can be prevented. It makes the problem of aggression measurable (reports).
![Page 22: RC Presentation MSPCE 2016](https://reader035.fdocuments.ec/reader035/viewer/2022062523/58eca4751a28ab3d7f8b45db/html5/thumbnails/22.jpg)
Benefits and Features of Aggression Detection Benefits: Early Detection to prevent escalation and/or physical Privacy and confidentiality: Does not listen to language or words but tone and pitch (works like
a human ear)
What does it listen for? Human aggression, anger, shouting.
Applications: Commercial Setting, Retail, C-Stores, Public Spaces, Mass Transit,
Hospital rooms, and Interrogation Rooms
![Page 23: RC Presentation MSPCE 2016](https://reader035.fdocuments.ec/reader035/viewer/2022062523/58eca4751a28ab3d7f8b45db/html5/thumbnails/23.jpg)
Gunshot Detection
The Gunshot Detector recognizes firearm discharge in different settings. Within seconds of a gunshot, the software accurately classifies and triggers an immediate notification through VMS or other source. Security staff can then verify alarm and reduce the response time of personnel. This analytic can successfully detect most firearms including handguns, shotguns, rifles and automatic rifles.
![Page 24: RC Presentation MSPCE 2016](https://reader035.fdocuments.ec/reader035/viewer/2022062523/58eca4751a28ab3d7f8b45db/html5/thumbnails/24.jpg)
Benefits and Features of Gunshot Detection
Detection Range: Up to 3,000 Ft. = Quiet Environments 1,500 Ft. = Normal Environments 300 Ft. = Noisy Environments What does it listen for? Gun discharge from most commonly used guns, does not work
with weapons with a silencer. Applications: Education- school and university campuses Commercial- Retail,
Banks, Shopping centers - 70% of incidents occur in either Education or Commercial settings Public Spaces, City Streets
![Page 25: RC Presentation MSPCE 2016](https://reader035.fdocuments.ec/reader035/viewer/2022062523/58eca4751a28ab3d7f8b45db/html5/thumbnails/25.jpg)
Glass Break Detection
Product Description: The Glass Break Detector software easily
integrates into existing video surveillance systems and VMS, eliminating additional devices or their installation cost associated. The detector is designed to classify the breakage of today’s most commonly used glass including laminated, single or double plate, tempered and wired glass. The Glass Break Detector works by analyzing both the initial impact sound followed by the sound of glass shatter.
![Page 26: RC Presentation MSPCE 2016](https://reader035.fdocuments.ec/reader035/viewer/2022062523/58eca4751a28ab3d7f8b45db/html5/thumbnails/26.jpg)
Benefits and Features of Glass Break Detection Applications: Car Dealerships – not cars Car Dealership Building- Yes Parking Garages – no
Commercial Buildings, Retail, Hospital, Banks What does it listen for? Listens for a combination of the impact sound and the glass shattering. Why is this better than motion detectors? With motion detectors, the intruder is already inside. With glass break
detection, an alarm siren can be played to prevent the intruder to go inside. Detection Range: Up to 100 Ft. = Quiet Environments 50 Ft. = Normal Environments 25 Ft. =
Noisy Environments

Car Alarm Detection
The Car Alarm Detector accurately classifies the specific sound pattern produced in today’s most common car alarms systems. The software can detect specific repetitive sound patterns of car alarms up to 300 feet away, making it ideal for any location with many cars such as a parking garage or car dealership. The detector allows security staff to deter or improve reaction time to incidents in real time.
