Thoroughly lubricate the outer surface of the piston and the piston rings with clean engine oilbefore installation in the cylinder block.

(1) Piston crown(2) Piston skirt(3) Top piston ringInstall the top ring with the side marked "UP-IT" toward the top of the piston.When the piston ring is installed in a cylinder liner that has a bore size of 137.16 mm (5.400inch), the clearance between the ends of the piston ring is the following value.... 0.45 0.10mm (0.018 0.004 inch)

(4) Intermediate ringInstall the intermediate ring with the side marked "UP-2" toward the top of the
