Faith Formation Next Saturday, May 5th, is our First Communion

Retreat for all of our children receiving their First Communion. This retreat is an important day in your child’s sacramental preparation; therefore, it is mandatory. Please make sure your child is present, and on time. If you have any questions, you can call the office.

Important dates to remember:

April 29th ACRE Testing for 5th Grade in class May 5th 10am-2:00pm First Communion Retreat May 6th Last Day of class May 19th 10:00am First Communion Practice May 20th 9:30am Mass First Communion.

Summer Faith Formation: This summer we will be planning a few family faith

events for anyone who would like to attend. This will be open to the parish. Details will be in the

bulletin and our website as we prepare these events. If you would like to help plan these events, contact Kim in the office.

This ministry provides many of our parishioners the mobility to participate in weekly Masses, as well as many other parish events. Currently we are in need of more people to help with this ministry.

a) Bus Assistant: This person helps our driver with the

passengers. You will be assisting people on and off of the bus.

b) Back up Bus Driver: We need extra drivers as substitutes, and also to drive for our special events. This requires a current CDL license with a passengers endorsement. Call Pat in the office for more information.

Famed “Miracle Hunter” Michael O’Neill’s original EWTN series “They Might Be Saints” will air a special one-hour episode on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at 10:00 p.m. EDT featuring the proposed Martyrs of la Florida. The cause for the Martyrs of la Florida was formally opened on October 12, 2015 in Tallahassee and is currently being prepared for submission to the Congregation for the Causes of Saints in Rome.

Additionally, prior to the episode’s debut on June 6th, Fr. Mitch Pacwa will have as his guests on EWTN Live at 8 p.m. EDT Fr. Len Plazewski, Vice-Postulator for the Florida Martyrs Cause and Heather Jordan, who serves on the Board of the Martyrs of La Florida Missions Inc.

Protecting our Babies

Knights of Columbus Council 5131 will be having a baby bottle

campaign for the protection of our unborn children.

We will be passing out baby bottles after all Masses Mother’s Day Weekend - May 12th and 13th. Please take one home and fill with change, cash or check. Kindly give with your heart for there is nothing more precious than the protection our unborn. We ask that the bottles be returned on Father’s Day weekend June 17th– 18th. If writing a check make it payable to : K of C 5131 (memo: pro-life) . If you are unable to return bottles on Father’s Day, you may drop them off at church office during working hours.

Formación en la Fe

El próximo sábado, 5 de mayo, es el día del retiro para

los niños que van a recibir la Primera Comunión. Este retiro es un día muy importante para la preparación sacramental de sus hijos y por eso es obligatorio. Por favor, asegúrese de que sus hijos

participen y lleguen a tiempo. Si tiene alguna pregunta, puede llamar a la oficina.

Recuerden estas fechas importantes: Domingo, 29 de abril, examen de ACRE para la clase de 5° grado. Sábado, 5 de mayo de 10am a 2:00pm, Retiro de la Primera Comunión. Domingo, 6 de mayo, último día de clase Sábado, 19 de mayo a las 10am, práctica para la Primera Comunión Domingo, 20 de mayo en la misa de 9:30am, la Primera Comunión.

Formación en la Fe durante el verano: Este verano tenemos planeado unos eventos de fe para la familia, para todos los que quieran participar. Estos eventos están abiertos a toda la parroquia. Tendremos los detalles en el boletín y en el portal (website) de la parroquia. Si desea ayudar en estos eventos, puede comunicarse con Kim en la oficina.

El Ministerio del Bus: Necesita ayuda

Nuestra parroquia tiene la bendición de tener un ministerio del bus que es muy activo. Este ministerio le ofrece a los feligreses el transporte para asistir a misa cada semana y participar en

otros eventos de la parroquia. Ahora necesitamos personas que ayuden en este ministerio. a) Ayudante en el bus: Esta persona ayuda al chofer

con los pasajeros. Ayuda a las personas a montarse y bajarse del bus.

b) Chofer sustituto : Necesitamos choferes sustitutos que también puedan encargarse de los eventos especiales. Esto requiere que tengan una licencia CDL válida, aprobada para llevar pasajeros. Si necesitan más información, pueden llamar a Pat a la oficina parroquial.

Un día de fe para la familia con los Rays El sábado, 30 de junio, los Rays invitan al equipo Astros

de Houston. Como parte de la celebración, los Rays ofrecen a las parroquias boletos al precio reducido de $30.00 por persona (de un valor de $70.00). Este precio incluye una gorra y una camiseta. Después del juego, los peloteros del equipo presentarán un evento

de fe. Escuchen a los peloteros hablar sobre como la fe tiene un papel importante en sus vidas. Como parte de nuestra Formación en la Fe del verano, Most Holy Name of Jesus quisiera llevar a un grupo a este evento.
