Structural Requirements

Dental Patient Chair InterfaceRequirement

The dental chair requires a solid level mountingsurface that meets these minimum specifications

bull Weight of 1000 lbs (4450 N) for chair dental lightdelivery system and patient

bull Capability to anchor chair to the floor with aminimum pullout load of 100 lbs (445 N) for oneanchor-bolt

Utility Requirements

Air

bull 12 (13 mm) nominal pipe compression fittingprotruding 2 (51 mm) from finished floor or wallsupplied by contractor

bull Right angle manual shut-off valve supplied by thedental dealer and installed by contractor

bull Air pressure and flow of 80-100 psi (550-860 kPa)

25 SCFM (71 Lmin) during normal use75 SCFM (210 Lmin) peak intermittent flow

bull Air plumbing to be flushed clean before finalconnection to dental equipment

Water



bull Water pressure and flow of 60 plusmn 20 psi (410 plusmn 140 kPa) 15 gpm (57 lmin) not to exceed 40degC (104degF)

bull Water plumbing to be flushed clean before finalconnection to dental equipment

Central Vacuum

bull Central vacuum supplier must specify plumbingup to floor box utility center and its terminationpoint in the utility center

bull Wet systems

Plumbing to terminate with 58 (16 mm) outerdiameter (OD) tube protruding 1 (254 mm)perpendicular to the floor
