Celebrando el da internacional de la mujerHANDS WItH A PLAN

CHANGING LIFES is the motto that this organization stands for. An organization based on Christian principles founded to help people with essential needs, but also mentoring them, and empow-ering them mentally, spiritually and most importantly building life changing relationships. The idea of HANDS WITH A PLAN began in November of 2012, when as a result of a Bible study class; a group of women visited the Childrens Shelter in Lafayette, Louisiana. It had such a great impact on their lives that this even-tually led to them visiting the Shelter every month. As stated by a couple of participants It was so rewarding to build relationship with each kid and listen to what they have to say, what they dream of, their hopes, espe-cially to their heart breaking stories. While also discovering how each one of them is so valuable and filled with beautiful gifts and talents that no one had ever taken the time to notice. But for three of the women

(Robyn, Luz, and Katie) those visits werent enough and God put on their hearts to do something else for these kids, as well as anyone in a special situation of need. So they set out to create a free-of-charge, voluntary, faith-based organi-zation that would not only raise money but would also inspire people from our community to get involve and become a helping hand. Soon they developed their first Big Event SPRING TOUCH 2013 to be held on March 23rd at the Hampton In and Suites-1910 South College rd. Their goal for this event was to contact local jewelry artists as well as various local businesses to come and showcase their products in order to make the community aware of this wonder-ful organization. Not only did they want to focus on just raising money but also use this time to bring unity within our community while at the same time empow-ering each local business as they are being a helping hand. For Luz, Robyn, Katie, and Angie, their vision for HANDS WITH A PLAN goes much further than just helping our community and surrounding areas. One of their main purposes is to be able to be a helping hand across the nations. So they have already started by embarking on a mission to be a helping hand at ROYAL LINEAGE feeding centers in Honduras. As you can see with the example of these women there is no limit to what you can ac-complish when you set your mind to make a difference. It doesnt matter what RACE you are or how OLD you are, how much MONEY you have, or how EDUCATED you are, All you need is to have a heart ready to serve and a solid vision of where you are heading. So please be on the lookout for this event and come support us by being that helping hand that makes a difference.

C AMBIANDO VIDAS es el lema que esta organizacin repre-senta. Una organizacin basada en principios cristianos con el propsito de ayudar a las personas con necesidades bsicas, como tambin siendo mentores, y apoyndolos mentalmente, espiritual-mente y mucho ms importante construyendo relaciones que transformaran vidas. La idea de MANOS CON UN PLAN comenz en noviembre del 2012, cuando a raz de una clase de estudio bblico, un grupo de mujeres

visitaron una Casa de refugio para Nios en Lafayette, Luisiana. Esta visita tuvo un gran impacto en sus vidas y esto eventualmente les llev a visitar el refugio todos los meses. Varias participantes nos compartieron Fue muy

gratificante para mi construir una relacin con cada nio y escuchar lo que tenan que decir, lo que suean, sus esperanzas, sobre todo sus historias desgarradoras. Como tambin descu-brir cmo cada uno de ellos es tan valioso y lleno de hermosos regalos y talentos que nadie se haba tomado el tiempo para darse cuenta. Pero para tres de las participantes (Robyn, Luz y Katie) esas visitas no fueron suficientes y Dios puso en sus corazones hacer algo ms para estos nios, o cualquier persona que se encontrara en una situacin de necesidad. As que se dispu-sieron a crear una organizacin voluntaria, con fundamentos cristianos que no slo recaudaran fondos, sino tambin inspiraran a la gente de nuestra comunidad a involu-crarse y convertirse en una mano de ayuda. Pronto desarrollaron su primer eventoSPRING TOUCH 2013 programada para el 23 de marzo en el hotel Hampton Inn localizado en 1910 South College rd. El objetivo de este evento fue enfocado en contactar artista de joyera, as como diversas empresas lo-cales para promover y mostrar sus productos con el resultado de que la comu-nidad conozca de esta maravillosa organizacin. Su meta no fue slo centrada en recaudar dinero, sino tambin quieren aprovechar ese momento para lograr unidad dentro de nuestra comunidad y al mismo tiempo promover a cada em-presa local ya que estn siendo una mano apoyante. Para Luz, Robyn, Katie, y Angie, su visin de las manos con un plan va mucho ms all de ayudar a nuestra comunidad y sus alrededores. Uno de sus principales objetivos es ser capaz de ser una mano de ayuda a travs de las naciones. As que ya han

comenzado a embarcar en una misin de ser una mano apoyante a centros de comida LINA-JE REAL en Honduras. Como usted puede ver con el ejemplo de estas mujeres, no hay lmite a lo que podemos lograr cuando fijamos nuestra mente a hacer la diferencia. No importa de qu RAZA eres, ni la EDAD que tengas, cunto DINERO tienes o que EDUCADO eres. Lo ni-co que necesitas es tener un corazn dispuesto a servir y una visin solida de hacia dnde vas. Nacido en el estado Zulia, Venezuela, pero con races colombianas, lleg a los EE.UU cuando tenia 14 aos de edad, y a partir de all comenz a realizar cada una de sus metas, sueos y objetivos. Este caballero ha logrado con -sumar diversidades de proyectos entre los cuales podemos destacar las actividades, talleres y estudios que ha realizado en diseo de moda en Nueva York, diseo de indumentaria en cabeza sedas italianas, par-

ticipo en Moda Escaparate Chicago Illinois, trabajo como modelo y profesor de una escuela de modelaje, pero tambin se enfoc en abrir en 1992 Tarazona Studio fotografiando ms de 350 hombres y mujeres para distintas agencias de mod -elos en el pas.

Alfonzo , no solo se ha destaca -do por ser un emprendedor en moda y belleza, ha trabajado en las artes, actuacin, pintura, escultura, danza desde hace ms de 25 aos . Pero, para el 2002 se traslad a Lafayette y abri un restaurante , Latn American Bar / discoteca Rumbas ,donde comenz a ensear clases de salsa, danza, meren -gue, y tango bsico.

Sin duda alguna, Alfonzo es un personaje multifactico, ha con-tado con la ayuda de diversas organizaciones para realizar sus trabajos y actualmente se encuen-tra dando clases de baile privadas en The Alamo , y

Estimados amigos Latinos de La Voz de Luisiana. Estoy contenta de estar nuevamente con ustedes habln-doles de este interesante tema. Habamos platicando en el anterior escrito que las personas que tienen un trabajo seguro de por lo menos 3 aos y que estn reportan-do Taxas con su No. De ITIN, pueden obtener su casa a travs de NACA. Como funciona esto? Bueno es muy sen-cillo, las personas interesadas en obtener su casa las entrevisto, reviso sus docu-mentos y les explico el proceso indicn-doles lo que tienen que hacer. Asimismo, a las personas que estn interesadas, las inscribo en el programa y se les invita a que asistan a una funcin en la cual se les va a mostrar una proyeccin donde se explica cmo se inici NACA. Al trmi-nos de esta funcin, la persona que est dirigiendo el programa que habla Ingls y Espaol, les va a pasar una hoja donde deciden si iniciar el programa y van a ser citados a una nueva entrevista individual. Alli les van a revisar sus documentos que son esencialmente sus declaraciones de impuestos y como NACA no ve mucho el crdito de las personas sino el que estn pagando su billes a tiempo. Al ustedes llevar los documentos que les van a indicar, ellos los meten en un sistema y los hacen llegar a las personas que se encargan de tramitar el prstamo y si todo est correcto, les dan la aprobacin para ir a buscar su casa. Con NACA cada caso es diferente y el tiempo para quedar aprobado vara segn las circunstancias de cada uno. La obtencin de la casa puede variar desde un mnimo de 45 das a varios meses a segn sea el caso, pero lo que es seguro es que cuando ustedes comienzan la aplicacin, NACA no los deja

All these documents that are required, will be inputed into the system, sent to the underwriters that are going to review them and process them and if ev-erything is correct then they will give you the final approval for the loan so we can go and look for the house you desire. With NACA every case is different and the time to be approved varies from person to person. You can get a home in as little as 45 days or months depending in each case. But what is sure is that when you start the process it wont end until you get your desired home to live in.There is a lot to learn on this program for those that only have the ITIN no. to declare taxes, a big door opens so the opportunity to obtain a home becomes true. Is He a distant deity or your close friend? One way or another, every person has a connection with Him whether they acknowledge it or not.

For example, reconnecting with your childrenwith transpar-ency, in an easy going manner, But they put up a barrier. It can be with your parents, friends, etc. Would you like to have a beautiful relationship maybe with your siblings, but whenev-er you are with that person, things just dont happen that way, theres a lot of

respect but not closeness.

Just like when a marriage falls into routine, each one doing their part, he provides, she cooks, but they both want something more.

Have you been in a relation-ship where you want to have a deeper relationship but the other person doesnt?

That is what God wants with you. He wants to go deeper in that relationship. We treat Him with respect but casually and distant-ly. The Bible presents God as some-one who with all of His heart, wants to have a close intimate relationship with His creation.

In Revelation 3.15, God says, Im so disgusted because you think you are so good but you are neither passionate nor cold. You believe that because youve got it going on for you, you are ok with Me.

Rev 3.15-17,20I know all the things you do, that you are neither hot nor cold. I wish that you were one or the other! But since you are like lukewarm water, neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth! You say, I am rich. I have everything

los estudios. Conocer muy bien un idioma adicional no solo ayuda a que el individuo se familiarice con otras culturas, ese solo es el comienzo. Pero importancia mayor del aprendizaje es preparar al alumno para enfrentar la vida y que tenga posibilidades amplias de ser un individuo productivo y aportador a la sociedad.

QUE QUIERE DECIR ESTO? Hoy en da, con el fenmeno inevitable de la global-izacin, cuando nuestros hijos no solo estarn compitiendo por un puesto de trabajo con el compaero de aula o con el vecino de a la par, pero tambin lo harn con un joven de India, China o Argentina, comenzamos a entender que mientras mas preparados estn, mejor.

Los nmeros no mienten. No discriminan. No tienen emociones. Es inevitable que la poblacin Hispana continua creciendo en Norteamrica, y que la necesidad de los negocios de contratar personas que no solo sean bilinges, pero que uno de sus idiomas sea el Espaol, continua creciendo. As que PORQUE NO FOMENTAR QUE NUESTROS HIJOS HABLEN, LEAN Y ESCRIBAN ESPAOL?

Haga una bsqueda de trabajos en internet. Cual es el otro idioma (aparte del Ingles) que piden las compaas? Espaol! En que otro idioma estn las instrucciones de los medicamentos en el Wal-Mart? En Espaol!

Aunque la respuesta a esta pregunta puede ser compleja y polmica, en mi opinin vale la pena reflexionar sobre este tema. La importancia de nuestro idioma El ESPA-OL, para Preservar nuestra Identidad como comunidad y nuestras culturas.

Pero cmo lograrlo? Esta magnfica oportunidad la tienen todas las familias de nuestra comunidad, si matriculan a sus hijos que estn comenzando en la escuela, en el programa de INMERSION EN ESPA-OL.Este programa no solo les permite aprender correctamente su idioma materno El Espaol, y con su aprendizaje, mantener su lengua, su races y cultura. Sino que tambin les posibilita aprender el Ingls como lengua y compartir sus vivencias, con nios nativos y de otras culturas. Nuestros hijos representan nuestro futuro y nuestros anhelos.

Y debemos luchar porque ellos manten-gan nuestras races, en el largo camino de nuestra definitiva integracin socio-cultural como comunidad.

The Spanish Immersion is currently offered as a Dual-Immersion, in which children are educated to grow up fully bilingual and the program offers great benefits to its student end the entire community, like: Children in the Immersion Programs tend to do better in school than their Monolingual counterparts The immersion programs promote appreciation for a Multicultural Acadiana, where the children of the program and their friends get to a better understanding of the world they live in Children who grow up bilingual and multicultural will lead by example to abolish prejudice and racism Professionals with a bilingual and multilingual education enjoy additional compensation for it

Why is it that Hispanic people who have migrated to the US, are allowing our children to stop speaking our mother language?

Eventhough the anwers to this question might be complex and stir controversy, my opinin is that we need to think about this. It is importnat to preserve our mother language SPANISH, to maintain our identity as a community and keep our culture.

But how do we do it? There is a magnificent opportunity for all the families of our communities, if they sign up their children in the SPANISH IMMERSION PROGRAM.

This program no only allows our children to learn the mother language well, but also keep their roots and culture. It also allows our children to learn English and share their experiences with US natives and from other countries. Our children represen tour future and our dreams

We must fight for them to keep our roots, in the long process of our socio-cultural integration as a community.
