IMPORTANTE: ACTUALIZACIÓN DEL CALENDARIO REPOSICIÓN DE CLASES Los siguientes días se ofrecerán clases en Washburn School para reponer los dos días que se

suspendieron por el apagón general de la AEE:

Lunes, 10 de octubre- habrá clases

Viernes, 18 de noviembre – habrá clases

Recuerden que el viernes, 11 de noviembre en Washburn habrá clases.

Martes, 8 de noviembre- Día de las elecciones generales – no habrá clases.

21 al 25 de noviembre – no habrá clases para los estudiantes, receso de Acción de Gracias.

COLLEGE BOARD EN TU ESCUELA: 19 Y 20 DE OCTUBRE DE 2016

Con el fin de facilitar a nuestros estudiantes la administración del College

Board (PEAU), Washburn School ofrecerá la prueba en nuestra escuela los

días 19 y 20 de octubre de 2016. La prueba la tomarán estudiantes de 11mo y

12mo grado.

Ofrecer el College Board a los estudiantes en nuestra escuela es de gran beneficio para su

desempeño pues en lugar de tomar la prueba en un solo día de 8am a 4pm la toman en dos días

de 8am a 12pm. Además, en lugar de ir a una escuela que no conocen la toman en su misma sala

de clases y con el beneficio de tener aire acondicionado, pues por lo general los centros de

examen en Ponce no tienen aire. Esperamos que ningún estudiante se ausente estos días.

Continuando con la meta de poder contribuir al proceso de transición entre la escuela superior y

la universidad, este pasado martes 20 de septiembre, tuvimos la visita de la representante de

promoción de la Pontificia Universidad Católica, impactando los estudiantes del 10mo-12mo.

Como parte de la estructuración de relación padres-escuelas se han calendarizado las siguientes

reuniones con padres:

Lunes 26 de septiembre de 2016 – Padres clase graduanda 12mo

Miércoles 25 de septiembre – Padres clase de 2do grado

Miércoles y jueves; Octubre 19 y 20 – Administración de la prueba College Board (CEEB)

en Washburn

Todo un éxito la actividad de “Adopt a Friend”donde se enfatizaron los valores de amor,

confraternización, amistad y solidaridad.

Por este medio le informamos que la propuesta Título I 2015-2016 finalizóel 30 de septiembre.

De acuerdo a comunicado del Dr. Roque Díaz Tizol, Presidente de COSEY, el programa federal

no ha firmado contrato con ninguna compañía para empezar el 3 de octubre 2016. Esta

situación conlleva que no contaremos por unos días con los maestros de título I.

Saludos padres, madres y estudiantes:

Durante las pasadas semanas hemos estado dirigiendo nuestro esfuerzo, orientación e

intervención al nivel elemental. La niñez es la etapa del desarrollo más significativa en la vida

del ser humano. Debemos estar vigilantes ante los procesos de socialización y corregirlos, de ser

necesario, al estar en un periodo de aprendizaje.

Características de la etapa de la niñez (6-12 años):

- El contacto con otros niños influye en su proceso de socialización y en la adquisición de

capacidades de relación con otros seres humanos.

- El niño desarrolla capacidades cognoscitivas como la percepción, memoria y el razonamiento.

- En esta etapa también se adquieren el sentido del deber, el respeto al derecho ajeno, el amor

propio entre otras capacidades.

- También se desarrolla su pensamiento lógico y su capacidad de distinguir entre realidad e

imaginación.

Colaboremos como una gran familia en propiciar una niñez feliz en cada uno de nuestros

estudiantes.

held in the library. These past weeks I began a project with 4th – 6th grade students reading and

comparing the different Cinderella versions around the world. Many activities will take place

during this project.

1st Concentrate on vocabulary and basic writing.

2nd, 3rd Keep working on the pronunciation and basic writing.

4th, 5th , 6th We continue to work on the pronunciation. We will hear music and French

conversations to practice our hearing and understanding.

7th, 8th They will begin to be exposed to the French language by the professor and

also by videos or short infomercials. On Thursday we will have our first

dictation.

Comments:

Bonjour Parents:

The students are really motivated with learning a third language. It is my

upmost recommendation that you listen to them as they practice.

Also, it is highly recommended that they have a dictionary of French-English

so they can look up for words on their own time and seek self-improvement.

In class assessments I have acknowledged that the students have been

studying and practicing at home. They have completed the work and have

helped each other to complete as well. Keep up the good work!
