CONVOCATORIA SUMMER COURSES UNIVERSIDAD DEL ROSARIO 2017 ESTUDIANTES DE PREGRADO La Universidad del Rosario, a través de su programa de “UR International Summer School 2017” convoca a todos los estudiantes de pregrado de todas las carreras de la Universidad Bernardo O’Higgins a postular a una formación de una o dos semanas entre junio y agosto de 2017 en Bogotá, Colombia. Ofrece la oportunidad a nuestros estudiantes de participar a uno de sus 14 programas dictados en inglés o español por profesores de renombre internacional. Los estudiantes seleccionados podrán de beneficiar de una beca que cubre el costo del curso. La Universidad del Rosario, a través de su programa de “UR International Summer School 2017”

convoca a todos los estudiantes de pregrado de todas las carreras de la Universidad Bernardo

O’Higgins a postular a una formación de una o dos semanas entre junio y agosto de 2017 en Bogotá,

Colombia. Ofrece la oportunidad a nuestros estudiantes de participar a uno de sus 14 programas

- Ser alumno regular de pregrado de la Universidad Bernardo O’Higgins y estar matriculado en

la dicha universidad

- Tener un promedio ponderado equivalente o superior a 5.5

PROCEDIMIENTO PARA POSTULAR:

1) Entregar los documentos siguientes vía correo a [email protected] antes del 26 de abril de

2017 a las 23:59 hrs o entregarles directamente a la coordinadora, Laurence Dalcq, en el oficina

de asistentes de Vicerrectoría de VVCM, tercer piso de Rondizzoni

Documentos obligatorios requeridos para postular:

a. Fotocopia de Carnet de Identidad por ambos lados

b. Carta de presentación incluyendo nombre completo, apellido completo, semestre en

curso en la UBO y elección de uno de los 14 cursos ofrecidos por la Universidad del

Rosario

c. Certificado de Alumno Regular

d. Concentración de notas

e. Carta de motivación dirigida a la Universidad del Rosario que explicite los motivos que

fundamentan la postulación al programa

f. Carta de recomendación emitida por un docente de carrera a la que pertenece el

postulante y dirigida a la oficina de relaciones internacionales de la UBO

2) La Dirección de Relaciones Interinstitucionales revisará los antecedentes presentados por los

postulantes. Solamente serán aceptados los candidatos que cumplen con los requisitos y que

presentan toda la documentación obligatoria.

3) La Universidad del Rosario seleccionará a alumnos para realizar el programa y

comunicará los resultados el 1ero de mayo de 2017.

The UR International Summer School offers an academic and international experience to undergraduate and graduate students interested in deepening their knowledge of global and regional trending topics. Taught by highly qualified national and international speakers during the months of June and August 2017 in Colombia – South America, the Summer School offers short courses with credit transfer and/or experiential workshops designed by the university’s 7 Schools with a duration of one to two weeks.

The main objective of the workshop is to promote the creation of a community interested in Big Data, bringing together the academic, industrial and governmental sectors. The purpose of the program is to offer an international training experience to national and international students. The course modules are taught by highly qualified international professors from top business schools in the world and who will share the emerging and future trends in business management.

This course is an introduction to the modern models and tools of the Empirical Industrial Organization. The approach of the course is practical and ideally, students will end up estimating basic models of each type. We will provide examples with real databases for each case. The course is organized in six three-hour sections. The first part of each section will be devoted to introducing the models, the second part to introducing programming and the use of the estimators, and the third part will discuss the results, practical problems and extensions.

The course aims to complement and update participants in the use of techniques in basic research having as main topics of study the following: molecular biology and biochemistry of microorganisms, receptor-ligand interactions of peptides and proteins, 3D structure of peptide fragments and biologically relevant analysis of the immune response in the assessment of vaccine candidates against different pathogens. The objective of this course is to show, how ethnic community processes are one of the types of nonviolent action in the current context of endorsement and implementation of the Peace Agreements in Colombia.
