As part of sustaining current oil production & achieving 70 MBOPD in ADCO’S shah Field, Located 180 KM South- West of Abu Dhabi city, 8 No’s New ESP Wells will be drilled over the period 2015 – 2016. Electrical Power Supply has to be provided near the Well head to run Electrical Submersible Pumps (ESPs), Container mounted Substations (called Power Skids) will be provided by other contractors. And for this purpose these wells shall be Powered from the Existing 33KV Overhead line network. Through this, a New Spur lines to be constructed under this project

3. Scope

The construction of Eight new tap-off 33 KV overhead lines in Shah Field to provide power supply for new 8 nos. ESP (Electrical submersible pump) wells to be drilled out of the following wells & 1 No 33KV overhead line Link between (Sy-80 & Sy-15) also mentioned below:

Sy-85, Sy-86, Sy-87, Sy-88, Sy-89, Sy-90, Sy-91, Sy-92,

OHL Link (Sy-80 & Sy-15).

The existing 33 KV overhead lines will be tapped-off and overhead lines (wooden poles) / Underground power cables shall be run for the eight wells up to proposed power skid locations, and 33KV overhead line Link between Sy-80 & Sy-15 as per details provided in the tender document.

4. Scope of work

Carry out all necessary modifications for tapping-off from the existing overhead lines through the most practical shortest route.

The Scope of work under this project shall be implemented based on specifications, technical schedules, existing Overhead Line field layout & typical (sample) drawings. Cobra scope of work shall include but not limited to the following.

Provision of Topographical (as minimum for every angle pole structure) Survey for routing the main 33 KV overhead line, including line profile & pole spotting.

Extension of overhead line to Power Skid location including supply, installation of overhead line materials such as Wooden poles, Switches, Arrestors, 33KV ACSR Conductors, OPGW, FOC, Cross arms, Stay wires etc. Including all necessary materials for erection, testing & pre-commissioning, completion & warranty of the 33 KV overhead line (Single Circuit). The extended line shall be started at the Tap-off Point & shall end with terminal Pole (G1 Type). 100 Meter away form the Power Skid location ( to be co-ordinated with ADCO). The oil well will be approximately 50-100 Meter away from the Power Skid.

The line route shall be subject to ADCO approval. Each extended line will be started with an Line Isolator Switch with

Earth Switch & Ends with Fused Switch with Earth Switch.

Supply, installation, termination & testing including the termination kits for the following Cable’s: Single Core, 70 Sq.mm ( From end terminal pole to Power Skid) & 300 Sq.mm ( for Road crossing), 19/33 KV stranded copper conductor, XLPE, copper screening, AWA, PVC sheathed & Fibre Optic Cable. Cables shall be as per technical schedule.

Provision for Track crossing or Road crossing or Rig crossing as required by rote survey.

A separate external earthing cable of minimum 70 Sq.mm shall be laid & connected at both ends to the earthing of the terminal pole structure/Transformer & subsequently to overhead earth wire.

Tap-off /Tie ins to existing line. Installation of at least one Deep earth well (2 m below summer water

table) shall be provided for each branch line

Supply, installation, testing of OPGW Junction Boxes mounted on Tap-off point pole & terminal pole (G1 Type).

Supply, installation, termination & testing of Under ground Fibre Optic Cable between terminal pole Junction Box & Power Skid.

Earthing/Bonding for pole support, pole mounted equipment & OPGW ( Including earth mats, earth rods & connecting) shall be as per specification for 33 KV overhead line works.

A Fault current indicator shall be installed at the tapping point of the New extension line.

Full compliance to ADCO HSE manual Vol-10 & ADCO road safety manual Vol 10/3 shall be guaranteed.

Submission of Drawings & technical documentation during Engineering, supply, construction as per technical specification Cobra shall compile ‘as built’ mark-ups of Drawings & documents for final preparation of master Drawings to be handed over to ADCO, on completion of work.
