Reconocimiento del problema y formulación de esquemas preliminares del conjunto.
1. Se indagará sobre la naturaleza del problema a resolver, a partir de las condicionantes y posibilidades que surgen del lugar de implantación, del programa de necesidades, y de la tecnología a utilizar, comprendidos y valorados particularmente por cada proyectista.
2. Se explorarán, mediante análisis crítico - comparativo, diversos casos de estudio de la cátedra, a fin de extraer criterios y premisas concretas de proyecto aplicables críticamente al avance de la ejercitación de aprendizaje. Este análisis tendrá un desarrollo permanente, continuo y paralelo a cada etapa del proceso proyectual, indagando las distintas temáticas y escalas a medida que el propio proyecto las enfrente.
3. Cada equipo de alumnos formulará dos alternativas de esquemas preliminares para cada terreno, una a partir del trazado del conjunto de la masa edilicia y espacios abiertos, en maqueta a escala 1: 500; la otra será generada en base al agrupamiento de unidades modulares en maqueta a escala 1:200.
Instancia en grupos de 2 alumnos, con una duración de 3 semanas.

A los efectos de estimar la cantidad de viviendas que cada terreno puede albergar, se considerará para cada célula una superficie de terreno entre 35 a 50 m2 por unidad de vivienda. Estos valores incluyen las áreas de uso común.
