1. Este torneo está abierto para todos los EQUI-POS que se registren debidamente y se

comprometan a cumplir todas las reglas del Torneo, a someterse a las disposiciones del Juez, del Comité de Honor y Justicia, y las normas contempladas por la Ley Federal de Pesca así como la Secretaria de Comunicaciones y Transportes.

2. Cada equipo contará con un máximo de cuatro pescadores, aunque esta permitido que

se registren equipos con un menor numero de participantes. Cada equipo designara un capitán que representara al equipo.

3. Las especies que califican son: MARLIN Y ATÚN. Premios especiales para DORADO Y PEZ

VELA.

4. Con el afán de proteger a las especies, SOLO CALIFICARÁN MARLIN DE MÁS DE 100 KGS,

ATÚN DE MÁS DE 30 KGS Y DORADO DE MÁS DE 10 KGS. El PEZ VELA no será pescado, en virtud de que calificará en la modalidad “CATCH AND RELEASE” o PESCAR Y LIBERAR.

5. Sugerimos soltar a los especimenes que a juicio de los participantes estén por debajo de

las tallas mínimas, no existirá penalización si algún concursante trae a pesaje algún ejemplar menor al límite de peso.

6. Serán declarados CAMPEONES por especie, los equipos que capturen el Marlin, Atún o Dorado

de mayor peso, solo en caso de empate, se tomará como base la medida de los peces; primero el largo y luego el contorno. (En tal caso las medidas serán las indicadas por las reglas de la IGFA. De persistir el empate ganará el pez que se haya registrado primero). En el caso del PEZ VELA concursará en la modalidad de CAPTURAR Y LIBERAR (CATCH AND RELEASE) y será declarado Campeón el equipo con mayor número de capturas que acerquen a la em-barcación y liberen previa foto con cámara digital que indique fecha y hora de la captura y liberación. Los equipos que quieran participar en esta mo-dalidad deberán traer su propia cámara fotográfica digital con dispositivo que pueda leer e imprimir las fotografías en computadora, con dispositivo de memoria en limpio y con su batería cargada, la cual deberá presentar el día de las inscripciones

(Se proporcionará mayor información el día de las inscripciones). Se recomienda utilizar el anzuelo tipo “CIRCLE HOOK” o tipo JAPONÉS para facilitar la liberación de los PEZ VELA.

7. En esta competencia se permitirán ÚNICA-MENTE el USO o TRAER A BORDO de la embar-

cación la línea hasta de 130 LBS. De resistencia. Cañas y Carretes a discreción del pescador, se pro-híbe el uso de carretes electrónicos.El Comité Orga-nizador cuando considere necesario podrá pedirle a cualquier concursante una muestra del equipo y línea de pesca para su revisión. No hay restricción respecto al número de cañas y carretes que puede usar el equipo o embarcación registrado.

8. IMPORTANTE: Toda embarcación deberá reti-rar el equipo de pesca no permitido para su uso

como: anzuelos dobles, arpones y en general artes de pesca no permitidos.

9. Sólo se permite como máximo dos (2) anzuelos sencillos por empate siguiendo los lineamientos

de la IGFA (International Game Fish Asociation). Se prohíbe el uso de anzuelos dobles, (ver dibujo).

10. Los peces deberán ser capturados con car-nadas o señuelos y serán acercados a la em-

barcación sin más ayuda que el carrete y la caña. QUEDA PROHIBIDO EL USO DE MECHUDO. Solo se permitirán 4.50mts. De sedal doble y otro tanto empate (leader). La suma de los dos no excederá 9.00mts. No podrán descansarse las cañas sobre la borda y ninguna persona podrá durante la pelea de un ejemplar tocar la caña, carrete o línea del participante.

11. SON CAUSAS DE DESCALIFICACIÓN:

a. Contravertir en cualquier forma las disposiciones de estas bases.

b. Que personas ajenas al equipo ajusten el carrete, o maniobren cualquier parte del equipo durante la pesca. Se prohíbe agarrar la línea doble. Sólo se permitirá que uno de los tripulantes tome el empate para arrimar al pez al costado de la lan-cha. No hay restricción alguna sobre el número de personas que ayuden a subir al animal a la lancha. NO SE PERMITIRÁ EL USO DE GANCHOS PARA PEZ VELA sin embargo para las otras especies sí está permitido.

c. Que en su embarcación permitan pescar a perso-nas no inscritas en el equipo.

d. Presentar cualquier pez que no haya sido captu-rado por el equipo en forma reglamentaria durante el día de pesca.

e. Cualquier pez herido por la propela (que pen-etre o rasgue la carne), mordida de tiburón, arpón, proyectil, o arma de fuego, o por cualquier objeto punzo cortante. NO SERÁ MOTIVO DE DESCALIFI-CACIÓN LA RUPTURA DEL PICO DEL ANIMAL, CU-ALQUIERA QUE FUERA SU CAUSA.

f. El Comité Organizador deberá abrir los ejemplares que ocupen los tres primeros lugares de cada día. En caso de encontrarse algún objeto extraño del animal introducido a propósito para aumentar su peso, será descalificado junto con todas las captu-ras del equipo de ese día.

g. Los participantes o embarcaciones que no per-mitan la inspección del Comité Organizador a la embarcación.

h. Llevar a bordo cualquier objeto de pesca que no sea el registrado. Así como arpones, chinchorros, tarrayas, cimbras y en general artes de pesca que no sean las permitidas.

i. Que algún participante se comporte en forma antideportiva o con falta de probidad durante el desarrollo del torneo.

j. Será causa de descalificación del o los partici-pantes en el torneo, proferir agresiones físicas y verbales al Juez del Torneo y a sus ayudantes. En caso de que ocurra esto serán sometidos al comité de Honor y Justicia y se descalificarán a los partici-pantes que incurran en estas faltas.

12. En caso de avería de alguna embarcación o que por su lentitud no pueda llegar a tiem-

po para que sus ejemplares sean pesados, éstos pueden ser transferidos a otra embarcación que la presente en su nombre ante el juez. En caso que la embarcación que preste auxilio y transporte no llegue a tiempo el pesaje, no podrá ser usado como excusa y la pesca de ambas no podrá ser regis-trada.

13. Los concursantes deberán estar presentes en La Marina de Riviera Nayarit en la Cruz

de Huanacaxtle, el día y hora de la inauguración del torneo que se efectuará a las 7:00 a.m. hora del centro y deberán esperar la orden de salida del juez. En caso de que cualquier embarcación salga antes del disparo u orden de salida de la dársena, los pescadores participantes inscritos de esa em-barcación serán descalificados durante ese día de pesca.

14. Las embarcaciones deberán reportar diari-amente la hora de salida a pescar lo mismo

a su regreso de acuerdo al horario permitido en el programa, no se permitirá que ninguna embar-cación salga o regrese de otro punto que no sean los lugares oficiales de salida, la falta de cumplimiento de esta regla descalificara a los que incurran en ella.

15. El Comité Organizador tiene facultades para prolongar, acortar o suspender el tor-

neo por situaciones climatológicas o por cualquier otra causa de fuerza mayor.

16. Fungirá como juez el Sr. Capitán Cipriano Quintero Montes (Pano) y sus fallos serán

inapelables cuando se presente una situación no específicamente reglamentada, el criterio del Juez así como del Comité Organizador de Honor y Justi-cia serán inapelables.

17. El pesaje de los ejemplares dará inicio a las 13:00 hrs. y terminará con el horario del

programa. Es obligación que el equipo concursante, registre sus capturas. Previa autorización del Comi-té Organizador debido a causas de fuerza mayor y justificada, los ejemplares podrán ser presentados por otra persona.

18. Los peces de mayor peso de cada día serán objeto de minucioso examen por parte de

biólogos y del Juez del Torneo, por lo que las bo-letas de pesaje tendrán validez después de dicho examen.

19. Los ejemplares de los primeros lugares de cada día serán propiedad del club de pesca,

cuando algún pescador quiera montar su ejemplar se le proporcionará la piel.

20. Cualquier protesta de un participante de-bidamente registrado relacionada con esta

competencia, deberá ser presentada por el capitán del equipo por escrito y firmada al Juez teniendo como limite las 19:00 hrs. del mismo día en que se registre el motivo de la misma.

21. Para mayor seguridad de los participantes contaremos con vigilancia marítima por par-

te de la Secretaria de Marina, Capitanía de Puerto y la Delegación de Sagarpa, el Comité Organizador bajo ninguna circunstancia se hace responsable de cualquier percance o accidente que pudiesen tener los concursantes o embarcaciones durante el tor-neo.

22. Los concursantes, pescadores, embarca-ciones, capitanes y tripulaciones que sean

descalificados en el torneo, podrán ser vetados de torneos futuros organizados por el Club de Pesca de Bahía de Banderas, A.C., y pueden ser boleti-nados a otros Clubes de Pesca y organizadores de otros Torneos.

23. El solo hecho de inscribirse y participar en este torneo de pesca, obliga al participante

a leer, conocer y cumplir con las reglas de este tor-neo.

24. El Comité Organizador se reserva a su cri-terio, el derecho de admisión de cualquier

persona, embarcación o tripulación que quiera in-scribirse y participar en el torneo.

1. This tournament is open to all TEAMS who reg-istered properly and abide to follow the tourna-

ment rules, as well as the Mexican Federal Fishing Law, and The Federal Communications and Trans-portation Law, and submit to the ruling judge, the Honour and Justice Committee, and the norms which rule the Fishing Federal Law.

2. Each TEAM will consist of a maximum of four fishermen, although teams are allowed to reg-

ister with a smaller number of participants. Each team will designate a captain to represent the team.

3. Species that qualify are: MARLIN and TUNA. Sepcial prizes for Mahi-Mahi and Sailfish.

4. In an effort to protect species, the minmum weight for a capture to qualify is: MARLIN 100

Kg., TUNA 30 Kg. and MAHI-MAHI 10Kg. The SAIL-FISH won’t be weighted, it will be included in the “Catch and Release” program.

5. Releasing the specimens suggests that in the opinion of the participants they are below the

minimum sizes, there is no penalty if a competitor brings a specimen weighing less than the weight limit.

6. To be declared CHAMPIONS per specie, temas must capture the heaviest MARLIN, TUNA or

MAHI-MAHI. In case of a tie in the weight, the fish will be placed in legth. If the tie persists the fish will be pmeasured in girth according to the regular IGFA rules. The last criteria shall be whoever registered the fish first.

To participate in the SAILFISH CATCH AND RELEASE category and be declared the winner in this category, the team must have the highest number of releases of sailfish, it’s important for every team participating in this category to bring a digital camera and to show a picture of the release. The picture must show the date and hour of the capture. The camera must have the way to be connected to a computer for printing the pictures and to have a clean memory card in the

day of the register. The camera must be presented every fishing day at the weighting area with the committee. More details are going to be given in the captain’s meeting during the register day. We recommend using CIRCLE HOOKS or Japanese-style to facilitate the release of sailfish.

7. For this competitionyou can ONLY USE OR TAKE ABOARD 130 LBS., BREAKING STRENGHT.

The rod and reel is a matter of choice of the fishermen. Electronic reels are prohibited. The organizing committee can request from any participant a sample of fishing line. There is no restriction on the number of rods and reels that a TEAM can use.

8. IMPORTANT: All boats need to remove alll illegal fishing equipment like: double hooks,

harpoons and fishing gear that are generally not allowed.

9. Only a maximum of two (2) SINGLE HOOKS per leader according to the IGFA (Internation-

al Game Fish Association) is allowed. The use of double hooks is prohibited (see picture).

10. Fish should be caught with bait or lures and will be brought close to the boat without

more help than the reel and rod. IT IS FORBIDDEN TO USE Moppers. Only 4.50mts. of double line are allowed and the same tie (leader). The sum of the two shall not exceed 9.00mts. The rod can not rest on the side and no person shall, during the fight of one individual, touch the rod, reel or line of the participant.

11. GROUNDS FOR DISQUALIFICATION:

a. Not abiding by the rules of this tournament established by the organaizing committee.

b. Somebody other than the angler aiding and touching rod and reel. It is prohibited to touch the double line. There are no restrictions on the number of people to help get the animal on the boat. IT IS NOT ALLOWED TO USE GAFF FOR SAIL-FISH however for other species it is permissible.

c. Allowing any person who is not registered in the team to fish in the boat.

d. Any fish struck by the propeller (which penetrate or tear the flesh), shark bite, spear, missile, or

firearm or any object cutting stitches. BREAKAGE OF BEAKS WILL NOT BE CAUSE FOR DISQUALIFICATION, whatever its cause.e. Every fish in each category will be dissected. If any strange foreign object is found inside, all the captures of the team will be disqualified that day. f. The participants or vessels not allow inspection of the Organizing Committee of the ship.

g. Carry on board any fishing object other than the registered. Just as harpoons, fishnets, formwork and general fishing gear other than those permitted. h. If a participant behaves unsportsmanlike or dishonestly in the course of the tournament.

i. Utter physical and verbal aggression Tournament Judge and his assistants may result in disqualification of participants in the tournament. If this happens the case will be submitted to the Honour and Justice Committee who will disqualify participants who engage in such misconduct.

12.If a boat, whatever reason, has a problema and can’t return on time to the weigthing

area, the fish can be transfered to another boat. If this boat is late then all the fish in it is going to be disqualified for thet day.

13. All participants must be present at Marina Riviera Nayarit at La Cruz de Huanacaxtle,

Nayarit, for the opening ceremonies and await the official starting signal. If for any reason a boat leaves before the official signal the team will be disqualified for that day.

14. The teams must report daily departure and arrival time. Won’t be allowed to depar-

ture from another place differente than the official departure points. The first fishing day the departure time will be after the official signal and after the opening ceremony. The second day the departure can be after 00:00 hours (central time) and the arrival time is before 18:00 central time. The team that not follow this rule could be disqualified.

15. The Organizing Committee has the authority to extend, shorten or suspend the

tournament for weather situations or any other unforeseen situation.

16. Acting as judge Captain Cipriano (Pano) Quintero Montes, his decisions will be final

and unappealable. In the event of a situation not covered by these rules the decisions of the Judge and the Honor and Justice Committee ruling will be final.

17. The weighing of the specimens will begin at 13:00 hrs, ending with the program

schedule. It is an obligation of the contestant team to record their catches. Previous authorization from the Organizing Committee is necesary when an unforeseen event or major force takes place. Only then can someone elsa register a third parties catch.

18. The heaviest fish of each day will be subject to careful scrutiny by biologists and

the Judge of the Tournament, therefore the weight registration formas will be valid only after this exam.

19. Specimens of the first places of each day willbecome the Fishing CLub’s property,

when fishermen want to mount a specimen they will be provided with the skin.

20. Any protest and complains related to this competition must be submitted by the team

captain in writing and signed to the Judge having as a limit 19:00 pm. the same day that the reason is recorded.

21. For safety of participants there will be maritime surveillance by the Secretary of the

22. Contestants, fishing, boats, captains and crews who are disqualified in the

tournament, may be banned from future tournaments organized by the Club de Pesca de Bahía de Banderas A.C., and can be bulletined to other fishing clubs and organizers of other tournaments.

23. Simple registration and participation in this fishing tournament, binds the participants to

read, understand and comply with the rules of this tournament.

24. The Organizing Committee in its discretion reserves the right to admit any person, ves-

sel or crew who wants to join and participate in the tournament.

Chipotle dressingSauté garlic shallot with oil. Purée with remaining ingre-dients. Refrigerate until serv-ing.

SaucesSauté onion and garlic with olive oil. Add white wine and reduce. Mix in chili and beans, bring to a boil, purée and season. When serving, warm cream with jalapeño.

Spinach bell pepper saladCombine ingredients, season.

Shrimp and scallop stuffingSauté garlic and onion with half the oil. Add mushrooms and spinach. Sauté shrimp and scallops with remaining oil, allow to cool to room tem-perature. Combine vegetables with shrimp mix and cheese.

ChiliesStuff chilies. Roll out pastry and pierce with a fork. Cover chilies with pastry sticking it together with egg. Brush with egg and bake at 350ºF until browned. Serve with remaining elements.

Aderezo de chipotleSaltear el ajo con el aceite. Licuarlos con el resto de los ingredientes y refrigerar has-ta el momento de servir.

SalsasSaltear la cebolla y el ajo con el aceite de oliva. Añadir el vino blanco y reducir. Incor-porar el chile y los frijoles, hervir, licuar y sazonar. Al momento de servir, calentar la crema con jalapeo.

Ensalada de espinacasy morrónCombinar los ingredientes, sazonar.

Relleno de camarón y calloSaltear el ajo y la cebolla con la mitad del aceite. Agregar los champiñones y después la espinaca.Saltear los camarones y el callo con el aceite restante, dejarlo enfriar. Combinar las verduras con la mezcla de ca-marones y el queso.

ChilesRellenar los chiles. Extender la pasta y picarla con un tenedor. Cubrir los chiles con la pasta pegándola con el huevo. Barnizarlos y hor-nearlos a 180 ºC hasta que estén dorados. Servir con el resto de los elementos.


SALTIMBOCCA DEL MARE 4 Porciones / Serves 4

Sea Bass Scaloppini with fresh sage, and Prosciutto

Ingredients

720 gr. fresh clean and boneless filet of Sea Bass4 slices of Parma ham4 fresh sage leaves A Pinch of fleur de selA Pinch of white pepperLemon dropsWorcestershire sauce drops20 ml. Olive oil.

Preparation

Season the fillets, place face up sage leaf and wrap with ham. Heat oil and grill the steaks to perfection. Prevent the filet, to not being dried out or overcooked.

Side dish

Eight fresh green asparagus cooked al dente and tossed in butter. 160 grs. Lentils soaked in water for one hour, boil in salted water and chill in cold water and drain well. Skip to little butter and season with salt and pepper. Mashed potatoes made with milk, heavy cream, but-ter, salt and a pinch of nutmeg. Place on plate with a pastry bag and nozzle, as noted by the photo. A fried cherry tomato on a orange or lemon leaf.

Escalopas de robalo con jamón de Parma y salvia fresco

Ingredientes

720 Gr.Filete de Robalo fresco, limpio sin espinas4 rebanadas de Jamón de Parma4 hojas de Salvia frescaPizca de fleur de selPizca de pimienta blanca molidaGotas de limónGotas de salsa inglesa20 ml. Aceite de olivo.

Preparación

Sazonar los filetes, colocar boca arriba la hoja de salvia y envolver con el jamón. Calentar el aceite y asar los filetes a su punto. Ojo; no sobre cocinarlas para evitar que sean secas.

Guarnición

Ocho espárragos frescos verdes cocidos al denté y salteadas en mantequilla. 160 grs.de lentejas remojadas en agua durante una hora. Cocer en agua con sal y en-fríalas en agua fría y escurrirlas bien. Saltear con poca mantequilla y sazonar con sal y pimienta. Puré de papa elaborado con leche, crema 33%, mantequilla, sal y una pizca de nuez de moscad. Colocarla en el plato con manga y duya rizada, tal como señala la foto. Un jitomate cherry frito sobre una hoja de nara-njo o de limón.

Grappa Sabayon

Ingredients

4 egg yolks½ eggshell full of Grappa½ eggshell full of white wineA pinch of saltA few drops of Worcester-shire sauceWhite pepperA few drops of Maggi Juice.

Preparation

Beat all in a stainless steel bowl over hot water bath un-til a creamy lather. Serve in a cup or saucer.

Sabayón de Grappa:

Ingredientes:

4 yemas de huevo½ cascaron de huevo lleno de Grappa½ cascaron de huevo lleno de vino blanco secoPizca de salUnas gotas de salsa inglesaPizca de pimienta blanca molidaUnas gotas de jugo de Maggi.

Preparación:

Batir en un tazón de acero in-oxidable sobre el baño maria caliente, hasta obtener una espuma cremosa. Servirla en una copa o salsera.

En los últimos 15 años Bahía de Banderas y sus arrecifes aledaños se han convertido en uno

de los mejores lugares del mundo para la pesca de Atunes Gigantes de Aleta Amarilla (Thunnus Alba-cares).

Nuestras aguas locales se hicieron famosas para la pesca de altura en especies como el Pez Vela, Do-rado y Marlín Azul y Negro.

Los pescadores locales por mucho tiempo no ponían atención a la captura de esta especie aunque los cardúmenes de la misma se hacían presentes to-dos los años durante varios meses, siendo la mejor temporada Julio-Diciembre.

Con el natural crecimiento de nuestra ciudad em-inentemente turística empezaron a llegar pescado-res deportivos de todo el mundo, especialmente de Estados Unidos y Europa, interesados en capturar atunes gigantes luego de saber que se habían cap-turado ejemplares de excelentes tallas y pesos por pescadores locales.

Last 15 years, Banderas Bay and its reef had become in one of the best places of the world

to fish Giant Tunafish (Thunnus Albacares).

Our local waters become famous for fishing spe-cies such as Sailfish, Mahi-mahi and Black and Blue Marlin.

Long time, Local fishermen just didn’t pay at-tention to the catch of this specie even when the shoals were present all years during months, being the best season from July to December.

With natural growth of our city, eminently touristic, anglers began to arrive from around the world, especially from the USA and Europe, in-terested in catching giant tuna after know local fishermen had caught specimens of great size and weight.

Así mismo el gobierno de México cerró la pesca deportiva en el Archipiélago de las Islas Revilla-gigedo, lugar famoso para la captura de estos ejem-plares, acción que ocasionó que pescadores decidi-eran viajara a Bahía de Banderas para practicar el deporte por no poder acudir a las Islas Revil-lagigedo.

The waters of Banderas Bay are rich in marine species and there are two very well placed fishing zones those by their nature have generated giant tuna.

First one is “Corbeteña” rock, ubicated ap-proximately 38 nautical miles from Marina Riv-iera Nayarit and the second is the famous “Ban-co” from the María Cleofas Island.

Así mismo el gobierno de México cerró la pesca deportiva en el Archipiélago de las Islas Revilla-gigedo, lugar famoso para la captura de estos ejem-plares, acción que ocasionó que pescadores decidi-eran viajara a Bahía de Banderas para practicar el deporte por no poder acudir a las Islas Revillagige-do.

Las aguas de la Bahía de Banderas son ricas en especies marinas y existen dos zonas de pesca muy bien ubicadas que por su misma naturaleza han generado los atunes gigantes.

La primera es la roca “Corbeteña” localizada aproximadamente 38 millas náuticas de Marina Riviera Nayarit y la segunda es el famoso “Banco” de la Isla María Cleofás.

Estos dos lugares son dos arrecifes aledaños a aguas profundas y que tienen un sinnúmero de nu-trientes que traen las corrientes marinas, por lo tan-to, existe mucha actividad marina y especialmente alimento para los atunes: calamar, jaiba y atunes pequeños como el skipjack negro del pacífico (cho-ra).

Fishing technique that has produced the larg-est specimens is fishing with live bait using a black skipjack sewed of the nose and low speed trolling on the reef and its adjacent waters.

This way, Banderas Bay began to generate tuna specimens biggest than 100 kg and some biggest than 150 kg.

During 1999 the European Anglers Federation successfully organized a fishing tournament in our bay where Mr. Franco Barisio catches an specimen of 153.5 Kg that is, until these days, the world record of line 30 lb of resistance, supported by IGFA (Internationasl Game Fish Association).

La técnica de pesca que ha producido los mayor-es ejemplares es pescar con carnada viva utilizando un skipjack negro (chora) cocido de la nariz y trole-ando en baja velocidad sobre el arrecife y sus aguas contiguas.

De esta manera, Bahía de Banderas comenzó a generar capturas de atunes de más de 100 Kg de peso y algunos de más de 150 Kg.

En el año de 1999 la Federación de Pescadores Deportivos Europeos de Agua de Altura organizó exitosamente un torneo en nuestra bahía y en dicho torneo el Señor Franco Barisio capturó un ejemplar de 153.5 Kg que hasta estos momentos es el record mundial de línea de 30 libras de resistencia avalado por la IGFA (International Game Fish Association).

Existen muchas capturas locales notables in-cluso algunas que han superado los 170 Kg de peso muy cercanas al record “all tackle” (más pesado) de la especie que es de 176.35 Kg capturado en la Isla San Benedicto en el año de 1977 por un pes-cador norteamericano, pero ninguna captura hasta ahora ha sido validada como record mundial por no cumplir con los criterios establecidos de captura.

Actualmente existen mejores equipos de pesca y los pescadores deportivos locales se han convertido en expertos en capturar atunes gigantes, no sería nada extraño que en los próximos años se rompiera el record mundial “all tackle” (más pesado) re cono-cido por la IGFA de 176 Kg.

Siempre y cuando la flota de barcos atuneros mexicana, una de las más eficientes del mundo y que por cierto ya se dieron cuenta de los grandes cardúmenes de atunes gigantes en nuestra región, no terminen con este recurso tan valioso para nues-tra economía como sucedió con el Atún Gigante de aleta Azul en la zona este de Estados Unidos.

Si el recurso se administra responsablemente, tendrá la posibilidad de generar divisas tanto para la flota de barcos comerciales como para la flota de barcos de pesca deportiva, en caso contrario, una parte importante de nuestra economía se perderá ir-remediablemente.

If the resource has a responsible administra-tion it will have the possibility of generating earn-ing for the commercial ships and for sports fishing ships, if not, an important part of our economy is going to disappear inevitably.

Incluso hay muchos pescado-res y organizadores de torneos que exigen el uso de anzuelos circulares para evitar que el pez se trague el anzuelo y al devolverlo tenga mejores probabi-lidades de recuperarse y vivir para pelear algún otro día. Además se insiste en usar ahora anzuelos biodegradables para que en los casos en los que el anzuelo se quede en la boca del pez, este se disuelva en el agua lo más pronto posible.

En los torneo del lobina que son supervisados por la Federación Nacional de Pesca Deportiva A. C. se exige a los organizadores que se cuente con un sistema de manejo de lobinas, las cuales tienen que presentarse vivas en la báscula, que incluye tanques aereados de recuperación, con inyección de oxígeno puro disuelto en el agua además de sus-tancias químicas que reducen el nivel de metabo-lismo de las lobinas y ayudan a desarrollar nueva-mente las defensas del animal contra infecciones producidas por el manejo de que se hace de ellas en la báscula o al pescarlas. Hay, entre los pesca-dores de lobinas, tal furor por mantener las lobinas en buen estado que utilizan el hielo de sus hieleras para enfriar el agua de sus viveros ¡Aunque las be-bidas se calienten!

It’s becoming more common, as sportsman fish-ermen we are, to free our catch no matter the

species. This as a result of increased knowledge of the species and its problems of sustainability that suggest there are fewer pieces each time and, if we continue the current trend, some of them might even disappear.

Therefore we’ve adopted stricter codes of con-duct to return the fish to the sea, that is look for it, find it, angle it, fight it and then, release it in the best possible conditions. Even there are many fish-ermen and tournaments’ organizers that require the use of circle hooks to prevent the fish could swallow the hook and when release it, could have a better chance to recover and live to fight next time. Moreover, the emphasis is now in the use of bio-degradable hooks so in case the hook’s left in the mouth of the fish, this is dissolved in the water as soon as possible.

In the Black Bass tournaments supervised by the Sport Fishing National Federation from México it is required that the organizers have a system to handle black bass, which must be presented alive. Para mí liberar un pez después de pelearlo es más que un acto de-portivo, un ejercicio hu-mano y me explico:

Dentro de nosotros mismos, especialmente los pescadores, ten-emos historia genética de varios millones de años en los que “matar” ya sea para sobrevivir o para comer, fue algo tan común y cotidi-ano que hoy todavía ll-evamos esa sinergia en nuestras venas. A muchos de nosotros se nos paran los pelos de la nuca cuando vemos un “comedero” de jureles o de Marlin o de lo que sea, pues nuestro código genétido nos impulsa a querer aprovechas la oportunidad y quedar-nos fácilmente con estas piezas, aunque no las necesitemos. Sin embargo, y aún en contra de nuestro entrenamiento milena-rio, hoy nos detenemos ante este impulso y ejerc-emos el más preciado de nuestros rasgos humanos: el indulto.

Es por esto que nos diferenciamos del resto de nuestros compañeros habitantes del planeta, los animales no racionales, pues el ser humano tiene esta gran capacidad de razonar y perdonar. Al final del día, después de pasar horas en el agua batién-donos al tú por tú con nuestros peces, los captur-amos, la mayoría de veces, y luego los soltamos, ejerciendo esta maravillosa capacidad de indulto.

Así que en tu próximo viaje de pesca, cuando tengas la línea tensa por la fuerza de un buen bi-cho, piensa, piensa y libéralo en las mejores condi-ciones posibles, para que tengas el doble placer de pelear, ganar e indultar.

That’s why we stand out from the rest of our fel-low habitants of Planet Earth, the non-rational ani-mals, because human beings have this great ability to reason and forgive. At the end of the day, after spending hours in the water fighting it out with our fish, most of the time caught, and then release them, exercising this wonderful ability “The Pardon”.

So, on your next fishing trip, when you get the line tighten by the strength of a good catch, think, think and release it in the best possible condition, so that you may enjoy the double pleasure of fighting , win-ning and pardoning.
