NATIONAL CADET CORPS [NCC].

INTRODUCTION OF NCC

The National Cadet Corps has established in the University corps Which was created under the defence Act, 1917 with the object to make up the shortage of the ARMY.

AIMS OF NCC

1. To develop qualities of character, discipline, leadership and ideals of selfless service among the youth to make them useful citizen.

2. To create a human resource of organized trained and motivated youth to provide leadership in all walks of life including the Armed Forces and be always available for the service of the nation

TRAINING PROVIDE TO CADET

Drill, shooting, Physical fitness, map reading, First aid, Flying, boat pulling, sailing and camp training covering basic of military training in Army, Navy and Air Force.

This training is mostly carried out in schools and colleges by the cadets..

DRILL Cadets must be made to understand the aim and

purpose of teaching drill, so that they are suitably motivated and do not take it as "fatigue". Emphasis will be laid on correct bearing, marching, saluting and arms drill. Inter-squad competitions may be organized to create interest

WEAPON TRAINING

Cadets generally take keen interest in wpn trg and firing. Units must liaise with nearby Service and Para-Military Units to ensure that all cdts get an opportunity to fire their authorized amn. Use of firing simulators may be made to optimize trg efforts where possible.

The NSS Camps are held for 7 days duration.

The NSS volunteers are expected to be in the camp throughout the period. (with night stay)

In case an important project has been undertaken and it remains incomplete, the NSS units may plan to organize a second camp to complete the project.

DURATION OF THE CAMP

The lodging arrangements of the camp should be made in a building of the village or Panchayat school.

No camp should be held in the premises of the college/school. The NSS volunteers must reside in the adopted area where the camp is being held.

LODGING ARRANGEMENTS 

The projects should be selected as per the guidelines, after identifying the needs of the village.

No projects should be undertaken, which is irrelevant to the needs of the village.

PROJECT WORK

A schedule for the camp is prepared, so that it helps to develop a sense of discipline and devotion among the campers.

The various activities undertaken during the camp should be planned and organized so that it fulfills the objectives of a camp.

Along with the manual work, the camp provides opportunity for community living, discussion in group and cultural activities, etc.

CAMP PROGRAMME

Manual work for accomplishment of the project – 5 Hours

Discussion on topics - 2 Hours

Cultural programmes/camp fire in the evening. - 2 Hours
