An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced farm animal vet
to work within an enthusiastic and committed team including diploma
holders, RCVS and European specialists. Clinical and teaching duties will be based in our thriving farm practice which serves local clients as well
as accepting referral work, including hospitalised cases and consultancy
visits. Participation in the out of hours rota is expected and a salary
supplement will be paid.
You should be MRCVS and ideally hold a post-graduate qualification in a
relevant area. The post is available for 36 months initially.

The Institute of Veterinary, Animal and Biomedical Sciences at
Massey University, Palmerston North, invites applications for
Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor in Equine Surgery. Our AVMA
– accredited veterinary programme is world renowned, providing
quality, research-led education. Our soon-to-be-refurbished equine hospital will offer first-class facilities for service, teaching and
research. In addition, our staff have access to excellent streams of
research funding.
Approximately 50% of time is spent in clinics, the rest on research, administration, teaching, professional development,
scholarship and consultancy depending, on the shared
responsibilities of the equine group and the preferences of the
candidate. Interested candidates may be able to study toward a
higher degree, such as a PhD, with the approval of the Group
Leader and Head of Institute.
You must possess a veterinary degree immediately registerable
with the Veterinary Council of New Zealand. The successful
candidate will have a service focus, both towards clients of the
Teaching Hospital and towards our undergraduate and postgraduate students. In addition, he/she must have initiative,
flexibility, and excellent communication skills. Being Board
Certified (ACVS or ECVS) or a Fellow of the Australia New Zealand
College or eligible to sit for certification or fellowship is highly
desirable. A post-graduate degree is also highly desirable.

Junior Consultant in Epidemiology/Veterinary Public Health
You will be involved in a range of research activities. You will also organize and deliver knowledge transfer activities. The work will involve project management activities. The successful candidate will be a Swiss or EU citizen with an MSc in epidemiology or a similar field relevant to infectious disease management. You have a robust technical knowledge in a range of areas relevant to epidemiology and veterinary public health. You enjoy working independently and taking responsibility for a project. You are highly motivated, reliable and organized. A PhD or Diploma in Veterinary Public Health is desirable. Excellent communication skills are key to successful consultancy work. You enjoy interacting with clients and colleagues with different backgrounds. A willingness to travel is essential. Excellent knowledge of English is expected, knowledge of German or French is an advantage as the post is based in Bern, Switzerland.
We offer the opportunity to gain experience in a broad range of projects and to work in an inter-disciplinary and international environment combined with competitive employment conditions. The expected start date is September 2012, on a fixed-term contract for 3 years.
