1. LLEGADA A LA CIUDAD DE MÉXICO
Llegada al Aeropuerto Internacional Benito Juárez de la Ciudad de México (AICM)
El AICM es un aeropuerto de tipo metropolitano internacional, localizado a 5 km y 30
minutos de distancia del centro de la Ciudad de México. El AICM cuenta con 2 terminales
conectadas por un Aerotrén que opera de manera gratuita presentando su pase de
abordar.
Si por algún motivo no está disponible el traslado en Aerotrén, se puede hacer uso del
transporte terrestre denominado “Transportación entre Terminales”, autobuses que se
ubican en la puerta N° 6 de la Terminal 1 y en la puerta N° 4 de la Terminal 2.

Traslado del aeropuerto al hotel
Se recomienda el uso de taxis autorizados disponibles en la terminal 1 y 2 del AICM las 24
horas del día, los 365 días del año.
Actualmente operan las agrupaciones Porto Taxi, Nueva Imagen, Servicio de Excelencia y
Yellow Cab y Confort. Las zonas de abordaje en la Terminal 1 se encuentran en las puertas
1 y 10; en la Terminal 2, se localizan en las puertas 3 y 4.
Para la utilización de sus servicios, previamente debe adquirirse el boleto correspondiente
en los puntos de venta autorizados y que se encuentran distribuidos en todo el
aeropuerto.

La Ciudad de México es una de las metrópolis más extensas, pobladas y complejas del
mundo. En el área metropolitana, cuya superficie alcanza casi 5,000 km2, viven alrededor
de 18 millones de personas. La Ciudad de México es el centro económico, político y
cultural del país, lo cual se refleja en su participación en el PIB nacional (21.5%).
Clima: Templado todo el año con una temperatura promedio de 15.6 °C (66 °F). Durante el
mes de junio, la temperatura promedio oscila entre los 24°C (75.2°F) y 10°C (50°F).
Altitud: 2,240 m sobre el nivel del mar

Energía eléctrica: 60Hz y 120 V. Se recomienda contar con adaptador de clavija de 2 y 3

Cambio de moneda: Las divisas se pueden cambiar en casas de cambio y bancos
ubicados en el aeropuerto y en los múltiples centros comerciales que existen en la ciudad,
en horarios de oficina, generalmente de 9:00 a 17:00 hrs.
Propinas sugeridas: En aeropuertos, así como en hoteles, podría ser necesario solicitar
ayuda con el equipaje. Se acostumbra dar una propina de US $1 dólar por cada maleta
grande. Con respecto a la comida y bebidas, las propinas no están cargadas en los precios
de los menús, a menos que se especifique de manera escrita. En general, es apropiado dar
propinas de entre el 10% al 15% del total de la cuenta.
Impuestos: En México existe un Impuesto al Valor Agregado, mejor conocido como IVA,
actualmente de 16% sobre el valor de la venta. Este impuesto se paga en la compra y
consumo de la mayoría de los artículos, y todos lo pagan, residentes o turistas.
Además, en todos los hoteles de México se cobra un 3% de impuesto (ISH- impuesto
sobre hospedaje), adicional al 16% del IVA, lo que hace un impuesto del 19% del total.
Teléfonos públicos: Para realizar llamadas desde teléfonos públicos se utiliza una tarjeta
pre-pagada. Estas tarjetas pueden adquirirse con valores nominales de $30.00, $50.00 y
$100.00 MXP en tiendas de autoservicio, farmacias, puestos de periódico y otros puntos de
venta.

Seguridad: Como en todas las megalópolis del mundo es necesario extremar
precauciones para evitar contratiempos o problemas.
Se recomienda no utilizar joyería fina ni artículos ostentosos. En las megalópolis del
mundo es una buena práctica llevar en la calle solamente una tarjeta de crédito y una
cantidad de dinero razonable, así como una identificación simple y una tarjeta con los
datos del hotel, dejando en la caja de seguridad los documentos que no se empleen.
Para mayor seguridad, se recomienda acudir a los cajeros tipo ATM que se encuentren en
el interior de centros comerciales o comercios.
Es recomendable que cuando viajen, porten consigo el medicamento prescrito suficiente
por el tiempo que dure su estancia, y que guarden todas sus prescripciones y medicinas
controladas en sus contenedores. Se sugiere que el visitante pregunte a su aseguradora los
requisitos y los servicios que cubren sus pólizas de seguros en caso de tener una
emergencia fuera de su país.

5. ARRIVAL TO MEXICO CITY
Arriving at Benito Juarez Mexico City International Airport (AICM)
The AICM is an international metropolitan airport, located 5 km and 30 minutes away from
downtown Mexico City. The airport has two terminals connected by an Aerotren which
operates free of charge by presenting your ticket or boarding pass.
If the Aerotren is not available, you can use land transportation “inter-terminal
transportation”, which offers buses that are located in Door 6, Terminal 1; and door 4 in
Terminal 2.

From the airport to the hotel
Authorized taxis are available 24 hours a day, 365 days per year in Terminal 1 and Terminal
2.
At present the following groups are in operation: Porto Taxi, Nueva Imagen, Sitio 300 and
Yellow Cab. The company Confort renders its services in Terminal 2 only. The Terminal 1
taxi boarding areas are located at entrances 1 and 10; and in Terminal 2, boarding areas
are located at entrances 3 and 4.
To receive the taxi service you must purchase the corresponding ticket previously at the
authorized sale points located within the airport.

Mexico City is one of the largest, populous and most complex metropolises in the world. In
the metropolitan area, the surface of which is almost 5,000 Km2, there are about 18 million
inhabitants. Mexico City is the center of economic, political and cultural activity in Mexico,
which is reflected in its contribution to the national GDP (21.5%).
Weather: The weather is tempered all year. The average annual temperature is 66°F
(15.6°C). During June, the average temperature ranges from 24°C (75.2°F) y 10°C (50°F).

Electricity: Voltage in Mexico is 110 volts; we recommend bringing a plug adapter to go
from 3 to 2 prongs.
Currency: Foreign currency can be exchanged in foreign currency exchanges and bank
offices located at the airport and in the many shopping malls throughout town, with
working hours usually from 9:00 a.m. to 17:00 hrs.
Suggested tipping: At airports and hotels, it may be necessary to request help. The
customary tip is $1 US Dollar per large suitcase. In regards to food and beverages, gratuity
is not included in the menu prices, unless otherwise specified. In general, it is appropriate
to leave a 10%-15% gratuity of the total receipt.
Taxes: Mexico charges Added Value Tax (known in Spanish as IVA). Said tax is paid when
buying or consuming most items, and it is mandatory both for tourists and locals.
Usually, this tax is already included in the food and beverage prices in restaurants, stores,
boutiques and excursion prices. Currently, the rate is 16% on the sales value. Additionally,
in all hotels in Mexico, a 3% tax is charged aside from the 16% VAT, giving a total of a 19%
tax on top of the total amount due.
Sales Tax Refund: under Mexican law, foreign tourists may obtain a refund of sales tax
(value added tax) paid for goods purchased while in Mexico. Some restrictions apply. For

Security: as in all the mega-cities of the world, it is necessary to take care to avoid
problems or mishaps.
For security reasons, it is recommended not to wear fine jewelry, ostentatious items and
other valuables. On the street, it is recommended to carry only one credit card and a
reasonable amount of money, as well as a simple ID and a card with the hotel data, leaving
in the hotel safe all other documents not being used.
