Our seed processing facilities located in Rojas and Pergamino, and our agrochemical production facility in Zárate, have been awarded a triple international certification for their quality, security, and environmental protection systems.
Furthermore, the agrochemical production facility fully complies with the Responsible Care in Environmental Protection Program, organized by the Argentine Chamber of Chemical and Petrochemical Industry (Cámara de la Industria Química y Petroquímica de la República Argentina, CIQyP).
The environmental indicators of facilities allow us to measure the impact of our activities, determine environmental goals linked to our business, and do this more sustainable every time, having the core objective of making a rational use of resources and preserving them
Energy: our efforts are aimed at an efficient use of this resource, not only as a strategy for reducing operating costs, but also as a way of lowering our CO2 emissions and thus contributing to the fight against climate change.
Water: out goals seek to minimize the consumption of this valuable resource.
Gas emissions: aligned with the global concern related to greenhouse gases emissions, our company monitors and manages its CO2 emissions.
Waste management: our waste is managed under strict guidelines pursuant to our Waste Management Program, which is applied in all of our plants.
Effluents: year after year, we work towards the goal of raising the capacity of biodegrading liquid effluents within our treatment facility.
Seedbed of Future is our personal challenge, our goal.
It was born out of the voluntary participation of all our people, together with different NGOs and Civil Associations that are aligned with the main focus of the company: the rural population. It is the reflection of the commitment of all Monsanto's employees to the future of education, health, technological development and, environmental protection within the Argentine agricultural sector.
We carried out 255 social projects, funded in six editions, among which 6 million pesos were allocated. They provided a direct benefit for 40,000 people in 16 provinces of the Argentine Republic, the Republic of Paraguay and the Oriental Republic of Uruguay.
Furthermore, from Monsanto Fund we are committed to different organizations related to the civil sector in subjects such as education, health and nutrition and the environment.
Through Monsantogether, Monsanto's Global Corporate Volunteering Program implemented throughout the world, 10 organizations received benefits by means of 10 projects in Rojas, Londina, San Nicolás, Campana and Zárate (Argentina) and Peñaflor (Chile), with an estimated total of 3,000 hours of volunteer work.
With the objective of helping raise the global production of food in view of the world’s growing demand, Monsanto created the International Beachell-Borlaugh Scholars Program, with an investment of USD 10 million, which aim is to help identify and support young scientists interested in increasing research work in the subjects of rice and wheat.

HUMAN RIGHTS
Thanks to the daily contribution of those who are a part of Monsanto, we will be able to keep meeting our goals. In all the five countries that comprise the Latin America South region, our 1,160 employees are essential for maintaining our leadership.
Our core objective is to build an inclusive and diverse organization that values and involves all the talents and opinions of our people, assuring an equality of opportunities. That is why we created the Climate Committees as a solid answer to the broad variety of proposals and suggestions received in order to create the greatest place to work.
We ensure that the conditions regarding home, healthiness, hygiene and security of temporal farm workers comply with the highest quality standards, regardless of their size and location. During 2011, we invested over 12 million dollars in infrastructure, remodeling and organization of our camps.
Aligned with our Human Rights policy, Monsanto does not tolerate any form of child labor.
We once again succeeded in establishing ourselves as one of the best companies to work in, being awarded with the third place in the Great Place to Work® list within the segment of medium-sized companies in Argentina.
Our policy is inspired by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work issued by the International Labor Organization. An estimate of 19,500 hours of training in the filed of Security and Human Rights allowed us to obtain the best performance in security within the region during the last few years.
