Dear parishioners,The restoration of the statue of Our Lady
of Fatima is completed. The statue is placed in its former location near the flowing Holy Water fountain. It was completely repainted to commemorate the centenary of the appari-tion of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Fatima on May 13, 1917. The colors used to paint the statue accurately reflect the original statue in Fatima. Our parishioner who gave their talent in honor of Our Lady carried out this work. Additionally, a halo with blue stones has been ordered from Italy and is affixed to the statue.
One of the highlights of the apparition of Our Lady of Fatima was the visitation by an Angel who said, “Do not be afraid. I am the angel of peace. Pray with me.” Then, the An-gel gave them a prayer, “My God, I believe, I adore, I hope and I love you. I ask pardon for those who do not believe, do not adore, do not hope and do not love you.”

Queridos feligreses,Nuestro Servicio de Penitencia Cuaresmal está pro-
gramado para esta sSe ha terminado la restauración de la estatua de Nuestra Señora de Fátima. La estatua se ha vuelto a colocar en el mismo lugar, cerca de la fuente de agua bendita. Fue totalmente repintada para conmemorar el centenario de la aparición de la Santísima Virgen María en Fátima el 13 de mayo de 1917. Los colores que se uti-lizaron para pintar la estatua reflejan lo más real posible a la estatua original en Fátima. Nuestro feligrés ofreció su talento en honor a Nuestra Señora llevando a cabo este trabajo. Además, se le ha puesto a la estatua un halo con piedras color azul, ordenado desde Italia.
Uno de los aspectos más destacados de la aparición de nuestra Señora de Fátima fue la Visitación de un ángel que dijo: “No tengas miedo. Yo soy el ángel de la paz. Oren conmigo.” Luego, el ángel les dio una oración, “Dios mío, yo creo, yo te adoro, tengo esperanza y te amo. Te pido perdón por aquellos sin esperanza, que no creen, no adoran y no te aman”.

No habrá clases de Educación Religiosa durante la Semana Santa, 9, 10 ni 12 de abril. Las clases se reiniciarán el miércoles 19 de abril, el domingo 23 de abril y el lunes 24 de abril.
Dear Parishioners of Santa Cruz Parish,We pray that this Lenten Season has been one of deep reflection and
love. We know that God has a plan to meet each of you in a personal way this Lent.
Our Religious Education Office strives to minister to all of our parishioners. We work with many adult and teen volunteers to ensure that all programming provides our families with opportunities to grow in faith. Part of our work involves rallying students and volunteers to serve the community through portrayals of the Gospel narratives during special liturgies. This work requires a lot of commitment from participants and many practices in order to prepare.
Unfortunately, this year, we have struggled to find enough vol-unteers to perform the Passion Play at our Palm Sunday and Good Friday services. Many of our students have had very busy schedules and were unable to commit to the participation necessary to put on the Passion Play. For this reason, we will be unable to present a Pas-sion Play this year.
While we are saddened to make this change this year, we are work-ing to prepare a beautiful experience that is sure to draw you deeper into the Gospel narrative. We know God has a perfect plan for all of us.
We thank you for your support and understanding as we work to minister to our parish. You, the families of Santa Cruz Parish, make this ministry a wonderful place where God can be found. Be assured of our continued prayers for our parish community and for a blessed Lenten season.

Sabemos que Dios tiene un plan para encontrarse con cada uno de ustedes de una manera personal esta Cuaresma.
Nuestra oficina de Educación Religiosa se esfuerza por atender a todos nuestros feligreses. Trabajamos con muchos voluntarios, adultos y adolescentes, para asegurar que el programa de educación proporcione a nuestras familias oportunidades para crecer en la fe. Parte de nuestro trabajo incluye reunir a estudiantes y voluntarios para servir a la comunidad a través de representaciones, de narrativas del Evangelio, durante liturgias especiales. Este trabajo requiere un gran compromiso de los participantes y muchos ensayos para prepararse.
Este año, por desgracia hemos batallado para encontrar suficientes volun-tarios que lleven a cabo la obra de la Pasión de Cristo en nuestros servicios de Domingo de Ramos y Viernes Santo. Muchos de nuestros alumnos tienen horarios muy atareados y no pueden comprometerse a la participación necesaria para ensamblar la obra de la Pasión de Cristo. Por esta razón, no podremos presentar la obra de la Pasión de Cristo este año.

Comunidad de Santa CruzNos alegra compartir que ya tenemos el equipo parroquiano que dirigirá el proceso del V Encuentro de nuestra parroquia. La meta general del V Encuentro es discernir maneras en las que la Iglesia en los Estados Unidos pueda responder mejor a la presencia de los hispanos/ latinos, y potenciar a los hispanos/ la-tinos para que respondan como discípulos misioneros al llamado a la Nueva Evangelización, sirviendo a toda la Iglesia.

Santa Cruz CommunityWe are happy to inform that we have our parish team who will be leading the process of V Encuentro here at Santa Cruz. The main goal of the V Encuentro is to discern ways in which the Church in the United States can better respond to the Hispanic/Latino presence, and to strengthen the ways in which Hispanics/ Latinos respond to the call to the New Evangelization as missionary disciples serving the entire Church.
The process consists of 5 sessions and will begin on Thursday, April 20 through March 18. It will be held in Deane Hall from 7:00 pm-8:30pm. For more information visit: www.vencuentro.org.
