Subject Pronouns

• What are subject pronouns?

• Subject pronouns are used in Spanish to state who you are talking about.

Example: Maria es aburrida.

(Ella)

• Yo (is used when talking about yourself)

• Tú (means you in English)

• El (He), Ella (She), Usted (Formal of you)

• Nosotros (We)

• Vosotros (as) Only used in Spain and means you

• Ellas (they female), Ellos ( they male), Ustedes (formall way of saying you)

Verbs

• Stem and root of a Spanish verb

The stem of the verb is the –ar, -er, -ir ending. The root word is anything that comes before the ending. • Hacer• Poner• Cocinar• Comer• Bailar• Vivir• Masticar• Sacar• Cubrir

Remember

• Regular present tense verbs (there is no change in the root word)
