Curiosities of Egypt
Transcript of Curiosities of Egypt
We know that Egyptian society was
polytheistic ( they believed in many gods) . In this picture we can distinguish some of them.
GODS
Over many years , archaeologists have
discovered through paints, stains or fingerprints that Egyptians liked many types of meals ; including fruit, fish , eggs or beef.
FEEDING
Another curious fact in feeding is that
Egyptians loved making amphorae and keep its honey for later eating it. They have even been found some amphoraes more than 5000 years old with still edible honey.
FEEDING
VESTIMENTA
Crowns in Egypt were divided at the same
time into two: the crown of Upper Egypt and the crown of Lower Egypt (they after created another when both territories were united).
CROWNS
Pyramids were used former to bury the
pharaohs ( why they are so spectacular ) . They were formed with all kinds of hard and resistant materials such as limestone, sandstone, granite, stone... The first one was built about 3,000 BC , and are visited by thousands of tourists a day.
PYRAMIDS
ESCRITURA
In our country every day there are strikes,
but this is not something new. Egyptians organized strikes . Although pharaohs were considered gods, they did them in protest of something ( justice , payments, inequality, etc. ) Most of theme were accepted.
THERE WERE STRIKES
To determine if one baby would be boy or
girl, Egyptian women did a method: they urinated on a set of wheat and on a set of barley. If wheat grew up faster the baby was a boy, and if barley grew up faster, the baby was a girl.
BOY OR GIRL?
Strangely , the pharaohs were usually
overweight. It was because the diet of Egyptians was extensive with high sugar content . We have discovered some pharaohs were even diabetics.
* In this picture we appreciate the obese face of the pharaoh.
OVERWEIGHT PHARAOHS
