    FOREWORD

    This specification covers the minimum requirements for the design and fabrication for ControlledVolume Pumps used in the petroleum and petrochemical industries.

    This specification is intended to supplement API Standard 675 First edition, March 1980 which ispart of this specification. Paragraph numbers of this specification correspond to those in API675. Paragraph numbers not found in API 675 are new paragraphs.

    Paragraphs shall be highlighted as shown below to indicate the type of change from the APIStandard:

    (Addition) New paragraph or supplemental requirements/clarifications to an existingparagraph.

    (Deleted) Paragraph deleted.

    (Decision) A decision has been made as required.

    (Substitution) Paragraphs supersedes API in its entirety.

    Substitute the terms "Buyer" and "Seller" for the corresponding terms "Purchaser" and "Vendor"used in API 675.

    2.0 BASIC DESIGN

    2.1 General

    2.1.2 (Addition) Pumps, drivers, and all components shall be suitable for continuousfull load duty at a relief valve setting of 20 percent or 25 psi (whichever is greater)above the maximum specified operating discharge pressure.

    2.1.11 (Addition) Stroking speed shall not exceed 80 percent of Seller publishedmaximum.

    2.1.13 (Addition) Repetitive accuracy shall not be less than 90 percent between therange of 10 to 100 percent of the specified maximum capacity.

    2.13.2 (Addition) Seller shall submit lubrication data in accordance with BuyersSpecification ESP-A-1160 Lubrication Requirements.

    2.15 (Addition) Noise

    Equipment trains shall comply with Buyers Specification ESP-H-2900 NoiseLimits for Equipment and Piping Systems.

    2.4 Pump Check Valves

    (Decision) Double ball check valves, on both suction and discharge shall beprovided.

    4.0 ACCESSORIES

    4.1.1 (Addition) Minimum motor rating for any pump application shall be 1/4horsepower.

    4.1.3 (Addition) Motors shall be in accordance with Buyers Specification ESP-L-7781Motores de Induccin.

    4.5 Nameplates(Addition) An additional nameplate shall be furnished and permanently attached,and stamped (or embossed) with the following information:

    Equipment item number

    Size and type of pump

    Maximum allowable working pressure

    Maximum flow at rated speed

    Strokes/Min. (rated/max)

    Motor: Power/rpm (max)

    5.0 INSPECTION AND TESTING

    5.2 Testing

    5.2.1.5 (Addition) Test Water Quality

    Austenitic stainless cladding or lining shall have controlled test water in order toprevent stress cracking. The following criteria shall be used:

    1. Water containing more than 50 ppm chlorides shall not be used for test.

    2. Equipment must be drained thoroughly after testing. Where completedrainage is impossible, it is necessary to flush with chloride free water,alcohol, petroleum distillate or suitable flushing solution. Hot air drying is notacceptable in lieu of flushing, but water may be blown out of pockets with air.

    3. Seller shall submit at test report to verify that the chloride content of the testwater is less than or equal to 50 ppm.

    5.2.2 Hydrostatic Test

    (Addition) Certification of hydrostatic test results is required.

    5.2.3 Performance Tests

    5.2.3.4 (Decision) Pump shall be given a non-witnessed mechanical run test prior toshipment. Test results shall be submitted to the Buyer and approval of the testresults is required prior to shipment.

    6.0 PREPARATION FOR SHIPMENT

    6.1 Type of Shipment and Storage

    Assembly and preparation for shipment shall be in accordance with Sellersstandards and in accordance with Buyers Specification 449111-100-25, ExportPacking.

    6.2.6 (Addition) Tagging

    1. Each item shall be identified with its Purchase Order Number and ItemNumber. Tags shall be corrosion resistant metal (not aluminum) andimpression stamped with the following:

    P.O. No.

    Equipment Item No.

    2. Tags shall be attached to each component with stainless steel wire. This

    tagging is in addition to the equipment nameplate. Equipment shipped in fullyenclosed containers shall also include the above information marked on theoutside of the container.

    3. Miscellaneous parts shall be tagged or marked with the equipment itemnumber of which they are intended.

    4. Equipment containing insulating oils, antifreeze solutions or other fluids shallbe prominently tagged at openings to indicate both in Spanish and English thenature of the contents, and shipping and storage precautions.

    6.2.7 (Addition) Packing

    1. All equipment shall be packed, securely anchored (skid mounted whenrequired) and protected for shipment as indicated in the Purchase Order. All

    unmounted parts, except drivers, shall be suitably boxed and firmly attachedto the main item for shipment. Unmounted drivers shall be shipped alongsidethe main unit.

    2. For hydraulically operated pumps, the hydraulic fluid (when supplied with thepump) shall be shipped in separate cans or unbreakable bottles.

    3. One complete set off Installation, Operating and Maintenance Instructionsshall be packed and shipped with the equipment. These instructions are inaddition to the sets specified in the Buyers form Sellers Drawing and DataCommitment.

    8.0 VENDORS DATA

    8.2 Contract Data

    8.2.1 (Addition) Drawings, As-Built Data Sheets, Instructions and Operating Manualsand other data required shall be issued in accordance with the AdditionalInstructions to Supplier Drawing and Data Commitment Requirements, dated 16Feb 95.

    8.2.1 Data

    8.2.3.5 (Addition) Spare parts quotations shall be submitted in accordance with theBuyers Specification ESP-A-1170 Spare Parts Requirements.
