Prusia, 1898-1995 Naci en 1898 en Dierschau, Prusia Occidental. Tom sus primeras fotografas a los 13 aos con una cmara Kodak que le haban regalado y su primer encargo fu un reportaje sobre la entrega de los premios Nobel a Thomas Mann en 1929. En 1935 emigr a Estados Unidos donde trabaj, en un principio para Harper`s Bazaar, Vogue y Town and Country. Eisenstaedt llego a NY en el momento en que acababa de ser creada la revista LIFE e ingres a la plana mayor de sus colaboradores permanentes, a principios de 1936. Eisenstaedt renunci muy pronto al flash para hacer ms luminosa la atmsfera de sus motivos y es uno de los pioneros de la fotografa con luz natural. Peter Pollack escribi sobre el fotgrafo: "La fuerza de sus fotografas reside en la sencillez de la composicin. Los retratos de Eisenstaedt reflejan la manera de pensar y el carcter de sus modelos, ya sean clebres o no. El carcter ntimo de sus fotografas envuelve al espectador y le da la impresin de encontrarse junto al fotgrafo". Einsenstaedt recibi numeroso premios internacionales y se cuenta entre los periodistas fotogrficos ms publicados del mundo.
