Qué son los adverbios?

Los adverbios indican la forma en que sucede una acción y dentro de

ello hay diferentes categorías…

También hay excepciones a esta regla:

Adverbios de modoUtilizamos estos adverbios cuando queremos expresar la manera en que se realiza una acción. En general se forman agregando "ly" al final del adjetivo.slow (slóu) - lento slowly (slóuli) -

lentamenteeasy (iisi) - fácil easily (íisili) -

fácilmentecareful (kérful) - cuidadoso

carefully (kérfuli) - cuidadosamente

The detective carefully gathered the evidence.El detective cuidadosamente reunió la evidencia.

ADVERBIOS

Adverbios de tiempo Cuando queremos expresar en qué momento se realiza una acción, utilizamos los adverbios de tiempo: now, early, late, soon, already, tomorrow.

Adverbios de lugar

Los adverbios de lugar nos permiten indicar dónde se realiza una acción: here, there, above, everywhere, away. here (jíer) - aquíthere (déer) - allánear (níar) -cercanearby (níirbai) -cercafar (fár) - lejosaway (euéi) – lejos

Adverbios de duraciónSon aquellos que indican cuánto tiempo dura una acción determinada y responden a las preguntas de tipo "for how long?": all day, for a while.all day (ól déi) - todo el díaall week (ól wíik) - toda la semanathe whole morning (de jóul móorning) - la mañana enterafor a while (for e uáil) - por un rato/tiempofor five minutes (for fáiv mínits) - por cinco minutosfor two years (for tchú íers) - por dos años

Adverbios de frecuenciaEstos adverbios nos indican la periodicidad con la que se realiza una acción. Para saberlo, preguntamos "how often?" ADVERBIOS

Adverbios de orden

Se utilizan para expresar el orden en que se suceden los hechos, nos ayudan a enumerar: firstly, secondly, lastly, finally.first (férst) - primeroat first (at férst) - al principioinitially (iníshali) - inicialmentefirst of all (férst ov ól) - antes que nadain the first place (in de férst pléis) - en primer lugarsecondly (sécondli) - en segundo lugarthirdly (zérdli) - en tercer lugarfourthly (fóorzli) - en cuarto lugar

First, she screamed, then she ran away. Primero ella gritó y luego huyó.

Adverbios de gradoResponden a preguntas tales como "to what degree?", e indican con qué intensidad se realiza una acción: very, completely, greatly, extremely.

much (mách) - muchoso much (sóu mach) - tantotoo much (tchú mach) - demasiadovery little (lítl) - muy pocoso little (sóu litl) - tan pocotoo little (tchú litl) - demasiado poco

Adverbios de certezaPara saber con qué grado de certeza preguntamos "how sure?" y para responder utilizamos adverbios tales como: certainly, indeed, of course, perhaps.certainly (sértenli) - ciertamente, desde luegoof course (of kóors) - por supuestodefinitely (définetli) - sin dudaindeed (indíid) - efectivamente, de verasobviously (óbviosli) - evidentementereally (ríili) - realmente
