UNIT 2. PLANNING YOUR CLASSES
Tema1: Lesson plan about introducing yourself
Actividades:
1. Elabore un plan de clase sobre la temática “Describing people”, La estructura de
dicho plan debe contener: Estándar general, estándares específicos, vocabulario,
estructuras gramaticales importantes, actividades preparatorias (exploración de
conocimientos previos), actividades de presentación y práctica (en esta fase se
deben proponer varias actividades que incluyan tanto los temas principales como
secundarios que propicien el desarrollo de habilidades tanto de comprensión como
de producción) y las actividades de finalización ( que pueden ser de evaluación
o producción).

PURPOSE: to recognize family words describing the personal information.
BEGINNINGWARM UP
I´m going to start with a short story in a poster. First students will read the story and then they will answer some questions:
1. Does Wendy have a photo of her grandma?2. How old is Wendy’s grandma?3. Does she have dark hair and blue eyes?4. Is she nice?
What is your grandma like? What does she look like?
I will ask students more comprehension questions about the dialogue, and then students will act according to one member of their family.
DEVELOPWORKOUT
Now, I’m going to give the vocabulary about family. They have to write the word and look for in magazines the photo according to the word.

After that, students will remember some describing words (colors, parts of the body, feelings, emotions, clothes) and they are going to choose five members of their family in order to describe them.

Tema 2: Workshop about describing people.
Actividades:
1. Elabore un taller en la que proponga diferentes actividades para la siguiente
temática: “Introducing yourself” para grado tercero. Recuerde que debe tener en
cuenta tanto la parte de vocabulario como la de gramática pero desde un enfoque
comunicativo. Es necesario que el taller contenga como mínimo: identificación
(colegio, grado, docente), competencias, Actividades preliminares o de inicio,
actividades de desarrollo y actividades de finalización, recursos y evaluación.

Purpose: to know how to introduce yourself through different activities.

We are going to do many interesting activities where students will be able to
improve communicative skills using personal information and sharing with others.
These are the activities:
1. We are going to do a game “this is me”, students have to stand in a circle and
then walk around. I´m going to clap my hands and make pairs and do the dialogue
using the model:
A. Hello
B. Hello
A. My name is…….. What´s your name?
B. My name´s ……
We are going to repeat this activity twice in order to know three different people,
then in a circle, they are going to play “duck-duck-duck- goose” and they have to
spell the names according people they knew.
2. Let´s sing. Now with a song “NICE TO MEET YOU”, students will mimic in pairs.

3. After the video, I’m going to give each student a big piece of paper, they have to

Tema 3: Video Workshop
1. Busque un video uno de los siguientes lugares: House, park, farm (animals),
school, city or town y elabore una guía de trabajo (taller) para que sus estudiantes
la desarrollen y fortalezcan la competencia de observación, comprensión auditiva y
expresión oral para utilizarla con sus estudiante .No olvide proponer actividades
para antes de ver el video, durante el video y después de haber visto el video.

PURPOSE: TO IMPROVE COMMNUNICATIVE SKILLS WATCHING A VIDEO
ABOUT FARM ANIMALS.
Before you watch.
1. Before students watch the video, they are going to listen a group of sounds
about different animals. They have to organize the pictures of the animals
according to the sound and word. We need a tape recorder and CD.

2. Then, students will listen and watch the video.
Video: the students are at the farm. What animals do they see?

Students will watch the DVD through once before doing questions. Students tick the
boxes discussing which animals they saw, and what the children ride. They check their
answers by watching again.
After you watch
3. After students watch the video, they are going to draw a picture about their
favorite animal. What´s your favorite animal at the farm? Draw and write.
They complete the text about their animal. Turn this into a speaking activity by
putting the students into groups.
Students present their animal to each other by showing their pictures and reading their texts aloud.
