IZNALLOZ IN THE HISTORYDAVID FDEZ. RIVAS 1º B

INTRODUCTIONIn this project I´m going to talk about the diferents periods of Iznalloz´s history. This

town was very important in the Middle Age and Prehistory

Prehistory: Cueva del Agua

In this place there were musterienses fields: culture or Mousterian technique is based on the use of stone tools in the Middle Paleolithic. There were printed

ceramic and a necropolis, too.

ANTIQUITY:

The Romans were in Iznalloz, called Acatucci. One of the most important vestiges we have of that time is El togado de Periate. A statue of the first

century that represent Claudius II

MIDDLE AGE:

Iznalloz was one of the Seven Villages of Granada, a barn of cereals that supplied

the capital.

MODERN TIME:

In the sixteenth century Diego de Siloé built the Church of Iznalloz. With this church, he practiced the construction and decoration of the Cathedral of

Granada.

CONTEMPORARY TIME:

In 1895 the first train arrives at Iznalloz, for this fact, people made a tunnel through all the town. So Iznalloz was known

as the first Spanish town with subway.

ACTUALITY…

Today, several attempts to improve Iznalloz have destroyed the area and disfigured the environment.
