The Illustrious and Real Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary is one of the most prominent buildings of Leon and is located in the central square.It was declared "World Heritage" by UNESCO in 2011.

Big Corn Island and Little Corn Island have abundant vegetation, lush flora and fauna as well as beaches that invite to the practice of various water sports.

The Big Corn Island reef is where usually arrive most experienced diving, being an area where marine species are more abundant and varied. There may be called the nurse shark, barracuda and eagle rays.
