Es la una en punto.
Son las siete en punto.

10:03
1:16
Es la una y veintiuno.
Son las once y catorce.
Minutos irregulares• To say that it is 15 minutes (a quarter) after the
hour, you use the word cuarto, not quince.
– It is 3:15 = Son las tres y cuarto.
• To say that it is 30 minutes (half past) after the
hour, you use the word media, not treinta.

• Practicamos: 1:15, 8:30
– It’s 1:15 = Es la una y cuarto.
– It is 8:30 = Son las ocho y media.
Minutos 31-59• When the minutes are between 31-59, you will
have to do some math. In Spanish, you will round up to next hour and subtract the remaining minutes until that hour.
• Example:
– For 4:53, we would start with 5:00. Son las cinco
– To find the minutes until the hour, we have to subtract (60 – 53 = 7) menos siete.
– Therefore we get ….
Son las cinco menos siete.
Minutos (31-59)
