QUÉ DEBEMOS ENTENDER CUANDO DECIMOS LECTOCOMPRENSIÓN Y TRADUCCIÓN DE TEXTOS DE ESPECIALIDAD?
El término "lengua de especialidad", alude al lenguaje específico que utilizan algunos profesionales y especialistas para transmitir la información y para negociar los términos, los conceptos y los conocimientos de una determinada área de conocimientos, a saber, confirmar los existentes, mediatizar el ámbito de su aplicación y modificarlos total o parcialmente. Entender un texto de especialidad significa primero poseer conocimiento previo del área de esa especialidad. Aprender a leer un texto de especialidad en otro idioma en nuestro caso inglés, significa poseer además del conocimiento previo de la especialidad tener capacidad para hacer uso del conocimiento y práctica de la estructura idiomática materna (castellano) para poder re-expresar lo leído en la otra lengua.
Al enfrentarnos a un texto en inglés intentamos extraer un contenido que está expresado y organizado según un código totalmente diferente al de nuestra lengua. Es por esto que para lograr una buena re-expresión o traducción el conocimiento de las gramáticas de ambas lenguas y el uso del diccionario bilingüe no son suficientes. El diccionario y la gramática son elementos claves pero deben ser coordinados mediante la utilización de una técnica. La técnica es el conjunto de procedimientos de una ciencia o arte, y la habilidad para utilizar esos procedimientos.
Al leer un texto EN INGLÉS determinamos en primer lugar la función de las palabras teniendo en cuenta su forma y posición en la oración y luego debemos buscar el significado en el diccionario. Realizamos la traducción respetando los BLOQUES DE SIGNIFICADO buscados, respetando la sintaxis y ortografía de la lengua materna.
Es importante hacer la siguiente distinción de las palabras de un texto. Las palabras CONCEPTUALES Y ESTRUCTURALES.
Las CONCEPTUALES son las que expresan ideas o conceptos del mensaje como por ej: sustantivos, verbos, adjetivos, adverbios y las ESTRUCTURALES son palabras que no encierran un concepto en si mismas, sino que funcionan como nexos entre las palabras conceptuales para dar coherencia al texto., como por ej.: artículos, preposiciones, adjetivos determinantes, conjunciones, pronombres.
Debemos reconocer además en una oración dos BLOQUES DE SIGNIFICADO.BLOQUE O ELEMENTO NOMINAL cuyo núcleo es sustantivo y generalmente está encabezado por una preposición, artículo o determinante. Lo llamamos “grupo nominal”.
BLOQUE O ELEMENTO VERBAL cuyo núcleo es un verbo. Lo llamamos “grupo verbal”. PASOS DE LA TÉCNICA DE LECTURA
I. Diferenciar las palabras estructurales y conceptuales y delimitar los BLOQUES SIGNIFICATIVOS.
II. Determinar la FUNCIÓN de cada palabra mediante el estudio de su forma y posición en la oración. Ratificar o rectificar la delimitación de los bloques significativos.
III. Buscar las palabras en el DICCIONARIO según su función previamente determinada, seleccionando el significado que mejor se adecua al contexto. Realizar la traducción respetando la división en bloques y los significados buscados.
IV. ORGANIZAR CONCEPTUALMENTE el texto traducido, respetando la sintaxis y ortografía de la lengua materna.
RECOMENDACIONES PARA LEER TEXTOS LARGOS.
- Use páginas de contenido, ìndices, cuadros, listas, etc. para ubicar partes de un libro, manual o informe que sean de especial interés.
- No fije sus ojos en cada palabra. Debe permitir que se muevan libremente sobre el texto a una velocidad constante mirando varias palabras a la vez.
- No lea en voz alta. Este tipo de lectura es habilidad diferente.- No lea la misma oración o párrafo repetidas veces. Despreocúpese de
cualquier parte que no sea de interés o sea imposible de entender. Sin embargo, se puede pasar más tiempo en partes o párrafos de especial interés.
- Para la lectura comprensiva debe haber identificado en cualquier libro o revista.

BLOQUE O ELEMENTO NOMINAL
Es una frase nominal en la que no intervienen verbos conjugados en su formación. Para traducirla identifique primero el núcleo de la misma (sustantivo) y luego describa sus características en base a los pre-modificadores. Cabe destacar el orden fijo de esta estructura, es decir que el núcleo o sea el sustantivo de la frase nominal en el idioma inglés va tener la posición de último elemento a la derecha y sus modificadores estarán a la izquierda de este núcleo siempre.
