EJERCICIO 3
Dear Mr. Green,
I am writing to complain about the problem of recycling in my area. I live in the north-east of
London. Every week I receive publicity at my flat about the importance of recycling. The local council
encourages us to “protect the environment” and take our bottles, paper and plastic containers to a
recycling depot. However, the nearest recycling depot is about five kilometres from my home.
This means that I have to take my rubbish to the depot by car. As a result, I have to spend
money on petrol and I create pollution by driving. It is not surprising that most people throw bottles,
paper and plastic into the bins outside their houses.
We are all interested in doing what we can to protect the environment. Surely the best solution
is to put recycling depots at the end of every street so that people can use them easily.
Yours sincerely,
Mrs. B
