As I partook of the Sacrament on this Easter Sunday, I felt an immense surge of love,appreciation, tenderness, joy, and hope for the life of Jesus Christ. How our Savior must loveus to do what he did on that awful Friday. The pain, agony, suffering, despair, and loneliness

experienced by the Master as he suffered the immense and incomprehensible pain ofGethsemane, the noxious and profound pain experienced by Him on Crucifixion Friday asthey whipped him and placed a crown of thorns on his head, and the final diabolical painexperienced on the Cross are something we can wonder about but never truly understand.Comprehending that the Son of God had power to call down a legion of angels to rescuehim — but did not do so makes me adore and worship Him even more. It is clear that His lifewas not taken — it was given freely, a supernal act of love unlike any manifestation of love inthe sad history of selfish mankind.

We know that he was crucified some time on Friday afternoon and died before the JewishSabbath which was Saturday. On the dawn of the most significant Sunday in the history of the

world, Mary Magdalene and the other women went to the tomb with spices and ointments toapply to His lifeless body. To their astonishment, upon arriving at the tomb, they saw acelestial being arrayed in brilliant, spotless white. He didn´t even wait for them to saysomething but immediately informed them , ¨Fear not ye, for I know that ye seek Jesus, whichwas crucified. He is not here for he is risen, as he said. Come see the place where the Lorday. And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead.” Never, ever beforehad that been said of someone---HE IS RISEN!! Death had ever been the great monster whichtook beings captive never to return them to loving family again. However, the Son of Manbecame the first fruits of them that slept — HE IS RISEN!! Up to this time in the world´s history, if aman died, it was over, there was no hope, he was gone forever. But this time was different.

Through the miracle of His resurrection, death was conquered, man was free and Christ hadtruly won the victory — HE IS RISEN!! On one crucial, critical, unforgettable weekend, the stingof death was taken away and both physical and spiritual death were defeated decisively.

And so, 2016 years later we take the Sacrament and we remember that weekend with

tears in our eyes and with grateful hearts. As commissioned emissaries of Him who was risen,we go forth and share the good news of the fateful event that changed all of us forever. Wesuffer rejection, disappointment, frustration, fatigue, humiliation, inconvenience, and self-denial because we love Him so much. We give up large pieces of our regular life and turnthem over to Him because of that love. We share the message with all men that HE IS RISENand because of that, we can be cleansed of our sin and live with our Father again. Life iseternal because of Him. Life has meaning because of Him. Life is joyful because of Him.Families can be together forever because of Him. James Talmage triumphantly declares,¨Worshipfully and with great joy the apostles returned to Jerusalem, there to await the comingof the Comforter. The Lord´s ascension was accomplished. It was as truly a literal departure

of a material Being as His resurrection had been an actual return of His spirit to His owncorporeal body, theretofore dead.

With the world abode and ye abides the glorious promise, that Jesus the Christ, the sameBeing who ascended from Olivet in His immortalized body of flesh and bones, shall return,descending from the heavens, in similarly material form and substance.¨ May we all find joy inthe Resurrection of the Master and truly understand why, as missionaries, we do what we doand preach what we preach is my prayer.

Loyalty vs Unfaithfulness

Loyalty is using difficult times to demonstrate our commitment to those weerve. It is the bonding of individuals in a long term commitment of support and defensevery important relationship in life should be built on loyalty. Some of these wouldclude our relationship with friends, family, in marriage, with a church leader, a missionresident, a companion, etc. Our most important relationship should be with our Saviornd our Heavenly Father. We can demonstrate the character trait of loyalty to them as

we serve them with all of our heart, might, mind and strength.

There are many wonderful examples in the scriptures of those who wereoyal to each other. Jonathan and David made a covenant with each other. Thecriptures teach us that they had, "a oneness of spirit" (1 Samuel 18:1). Ruth's loyalty toaomi is one of history's most inspiring stories. Ruth told Naomi to return to her owneople following her husbands passing. Ruth's reply was, "Whither thou goest, I will go;nd where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my

God" Ruth 1:16-17.

There are many in the scriptures who demonstrated loyalty to God. Nephiays, "I will go and do the things which the Lord hath commanded me." (1 Nephi 3:7).aul declares, "I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ" (Romans 1:16) In

Matthew 6:24 we read, "No man can serve two masters". The prophet Joseph Smith isn excellent example of loyalty when he says "I had seen a vision...and I could not deny" Joseph Smith History 1:25.

We can apply loyalty in missionary work by:

Serving others, speaking the positive of them, and strengthening themEncouraging your companion or family members during hard times, letting them knowou will be there for them

Keeping the commandments thus showing our loyalty to our Father in HeavenAdhering to the counsel given by church leaders--bishops, stake president, Presidentayton, the prophet, etc.Adhering to the line of loyalty, "Your loyalty is first to the Lord, then to the Missionresident and then to your companion."

We were blessed with baptismthis week! Honestly we did solittle, Amalia has been preparedto take this step since the firsttime we invited her. The branchhas been with her every step ofthe way, they took care ofeverything. It's been incredibleto see all of them reach out toher during the past few weeks.She's felt so comfortable witheverything because of them.The spirit was strong during theservice, and afterwards she

expressed to us how great shefelt. Best meeting in the church.

The area of _______is veryinteresting. It is a fascinatingarea with lots of people that areopen to hear our message. Wefound 10 news this past week

and I am happy to say that wemet our goals. As well, we had abaptism for Leo! It was a very

spiritual experience that I won'tforget. I remember arriving atthe chapel, setting up the bluewhale, and finally the servicestarted at 8. It was very nice tosee his parents there as well,who are not members. It wasgreat to see him be baptizedby our branch President andsee his desire to change his lifeand walk in the path of Christ.It's funny because he is only 10years old, but he had beenmaking baptism a big deal

and wanted to be baptizedreal badly. So I can honestlysay, it was a very splendid andspiritual weekend! He is anexample to not only hismissionaries, but to his friendsand especially his parents.

This week has been superamazing I can't really put it intowords. But it was my first

baptism and it was amazing ofcourse I wanted to be the oneto step into the waters withAlejandro but me and mycompanion knew it was best ifhis uncle was the one tobaptize him, but none the lessit was truly something that Ilook forward to again.

On Saturday we had the

baptism of Yanely! She is fromthe Dominican Republic andhas been investigating for acouple of months, and I waslucky enough to land here in _____ right as she was havingher baptism. She is super greatand has a super strongtestimony. For her baptismalprogram there wasn't going tobe anybody to play piano,

so...the responsibility of playingpiano fell on me. Enserio!? I amin no way a pianist. I have

The Miracle of Baptism

mission, but that's it. So I had tolearn to play one more lastweek. I was so stressed andnervous, but miraculously wasable to learn the third hymnand I didn't do all that bad inthe baptism.

Dear President, This week wesaw some amazing miracles.The best of all being that we

had TWO baptisms! Dina andSarah, mother and daughter,were baptized on Saturday.Elder ____ was able to baptizeDina and then Sarah(who isblind) asked me to baptize herIt was a wonderful experiencefor my companion and Ibecause it was the first timeeither of us have actuallybaptized someone. The spiritwas so strong at their baptismaservice but ever more strongduring sacrament meeting theSunday after when the words"receive the Holy Ghost" werespoken and Dina and Sarahboth were blessed with theprivilege of having the HolySpirit to be with them always.Watching these two sisters inZion come unto Christ andrepent of there sims has been a

great source of joy me and forour companionship. The miracof conversion is unique and haa special spirit.
