You choose whether you want to study Media Informatics in the Bachelor- or Diplom programme. The Bachelor course of study is shorter, but the Diplom course of study allows for more in-depth specialisation. Both study programmes convey a wide spectrum of fundamental computer science knowledge, as well as practice-oriented expertise in digital media and multi-media production. This you gain by taking part in lectures, seminars, and (la-boratory)-training. The various mandatory electives, such “Graphic-oriented IT-Systems“ or “Windows-Programming” allow you to customise your studies to fit your career goals. The development of field-specific English skills, as well as legal and business competences round out your educational profile.

Your studies are completed with the writing and defense of your Bachelor or Diplom thesis.

As a graduate of Media Informatics, you possess a broad spectrum of expertise in applied computer science and media design, and can skillfully combine them with one another. This allows you to develop software for editing and processing, transmitting, and presenting media content. You can design, programme, and develop mul-ti-media applications, interactive computer animations, 3D renderings, digital graphics, films, and communica-tion technology. Following your graduation, you will be able to work in national or international businesses or organisations, taking on professional duties such as web developer or app developer.

Moreover, you will have qualified for Masters studies at universities in Germany and abroad.
