From Fr. Davy’s Desk: The readings of this weekend explain to us about the purpose of intellectual and spiritual formation. We read from the Book of Proverbs, “Wisdom has built her house…” Wisdom plays a major role in the personality formation. In the modern world it is not easy to survive successfully without wisdom. Parents and teachers commit themselves to make sure that the children get quality education. The letter of Saint Paul to the Ephesians reminds us; “Brothers and sisters, watch carefully how you live, not as foolish persons but as wise, because the days are evil… try to understand the will of God.” It is very important to learn how to live using our wisdom properly. Albert Einstein using his wisdom spent a lot of time doing research on physics and invented the power of atom. He never thought that his invention will lead to a nuclear bomb disaster. The Jews of Jesus’ time were well educated but as we hear from the Gospel they quarreled them-selves, saying, “How can this man give us his flesh to eat?” They had no wisdom to understand the spiritual meaning of Jesus’ words “Flesh and blood.” Here is the need of spiritual or religious forma-tion. We may be genius but may be ignorant to understand the mystery of life then life becomes mis-ery. As we begin the preparations for C.C.D program, I strongly encourage all parents and students to consider our Religious formation as precious part of the integral formation of our members. Fr. Kavungal Davy, CMI

Padre Kavungal Davy, CMI

ELECTRONIC DONATIONS

With trends clearly pointing to the continued steady decline of check usage, St. Anthony - St. Alphonsus Church now offers the ability to ac-cept electronic donations. Electronic giving is beneficial both to the church and its donating members. 1. You’ll be able to support your parish each

and every week, even if you’re out of town on a Sunday, or unable to attend services due to weather, illness or a family emer-gency.

2. The convenience of not having to write a

check each week. 3. The security of knowing your data is pro-

tected, that every transaction is secure, and that your contributions are automatically transferred directly to the church’s account.

4. The knowledge that you are helping your

parish be more efficient, and have a steady and predictable cash flow to support the works that are important to you, throughout the year.

5. The efficiency of having an annual state-

ment that details your generosity, and sim-plifies your taxes.

We opened a special account for parishioners for electronic giving. We encourage you to use it. If anyone wants to use electronic giving (including those using envelopes) please call the rectory as soon as possible for more infor-mation.
