Lesson 1

Text: Exodus 1:8-22 and 2:1-10

EX 1:8 Now there arose a new king over Egypt, who knew not Joseph. Andhe said unto his people, Behold, the people of the children of Israel are moreand mightier than we. Come, let us deal wisely with them, lest they multiply,and it come to pass, that, when there falleth out any war, they also jointhemselves unto our enemies, and fight against us, and get them up out of theland.

1 And there went a man of the house of Levi, and took to wife a daughter ofLevi. And the woman conceived, and bare a son: and when she saw him thathe was a goodly child, she hid him three months. And when she could notlonger hide him, she took for him an ark of bulrushes, and daubed it withslime and with pitch; and she put the child therein, and laid it in the flags bythe river`s brink. And his sister stood afar off, to know what would be done tohim.

And the daughter of Pharaoh came down to bathe at the river; and hermaidens walked along by the river-side; and she saw the ark among the flags,and sent her handmaid to fetch it. And she opened it, and saw the child: and,behold, the babe wept. And she had compassion on him, and said, This is oneof the Hebrews` children. Then said his sister to Pharaoh`s daughter, Shall Igo and call thee a nurse of the Hebrew women, that she may nurse the childfor thee? And Pharaoh`s daughter said to her, Go. And the maiden went andcalled the child`s mother.

And Pharaoh`s daughter said unto her, Take this child away, and nurse it forme, and I will give thee thy wages. And the woman took the child, and nursedit. And the child grew, and she brought him unto Pharaoh`s daughter, and hebecame her son. And she called his name Moses, and said, Because I drew himout of the water.

Ex 1:8 Entretanto, se levantó sobre Egipto un nuevo rey que no conocía aJosé, y dijo a su pueblo: Mirad, el pueblo de los hijos de Israel es másnumeroso y fuerte que nosotros. Ahora, pues, seamos sabios para con él, paraque no se multiplique y acontezca que, en caso de guerra, él también se una anuestros enemigos para pelear contra nosotros, y se vaya de esta tierra.

2:1 Un hombre de la familia de Leví fue y tomó por mujer a una hija de Leví,la que concibió y dio a luz un hijo. Al ver que era hermoso, lo tuvo escondidodurante tres meses. Pero no pudiendo ocultarlo más tiempo, tomó unacanasta, la calafateó con asfalto y brea, colocó en ella al niño y la puso entrelos juncos a la orilla del río. Y una hermana suya se puso a lo lejos para ver loque le acontecería.

Y la hija del faraón descendió a lavarse al río y mientras sus doncellas sepaseaban por la ribera del río, vio ella la canasta entre los juncos y envió unacriada suya para que la tomara. La joven fue y llamó a la madre del niño,

EX 2:11 And it came to pass in those days, when Moses was grown up, that hewent out unto his brethren, and looked on their burdens: and he saw anEgyptian smiting a Hebrew, one of his brethren. And he looked this way andthat way, and when he saw that there was no man, he smote the Egyptian, andhid him in the sand. And he went out the second day, and, behold, two men ofthe Hebrews were striving together: and he said to him that did the wrong,Wherefore smitest thou thy fellow?

2:14 And he said, Who made thee a prince and a judge over us? Thinkestthou to kill me, as thou killed the Egyptian? And Moses feared, and said,Surely the thing is known. Now when Pharaoh heard this thing, he sought toslay Moses. But Moses fled from the face of Pharaoh, and dwelt in the land ofMidian: and he sat down by a well.

2:16 Now the priest of Midian had seven daughters: and they came and drewwater, and filled the troughs to water their father`s flock. And the shepherdscame and drove them away; but Moses stood up and helped them, andwatered their flock. And when they came to Reuel their father, he said, Howis it that ye are come so soon to-day? And they said, An Egyptian deliveredus out of the hand of the shepherds, and moreover he drew water for us, andwatered the flock. And he said unto his daughters, And where is he? Why is itthat ye have left the man? Call him, that he may eat bread.

2:21 And Moses was content to dwell with the man: and he gave MosesZipporah his daughter. And she bare a son, and he called his name Gershom;for he said, I have been a sojourner in a foreign land.

Ex 2:11 En aquellos días sucedió que, crecido ya Moisés, salió a visitar a sushermanos. Los vio en sus duras tareas, y observó a un egipcio que golpeaba auno de sus hermanos hebreos. Entonces miró a todas partes, y viendo que nohabía nadie, mató al egipcio y lo escondió en la arena. Al día siguiente salió,vio a dos hebreos que reñían, y preguntó al que maltrataba al otro: ¿Por quégolpeas a tu prójimo?

2:14 Él respondió: ¿Quién te ha puesto a ti por príncipe y juez sobrenosotros? ¿Piensas matarme como mataste al egipcio? Entonces Moisés tuvomiedo, y pensó: Ciertamente esto ha sido descubierto. Ex. 3:1 Now Moses was keeping the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, thepriest of Midian: and he led the flock to the back of the wilderness, and cameto the mountain of God, unto Horeb. And the angel of Jehovah appeared untohim in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold,the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed.

3:3 And Moses said, I will turn aside now, and see this great sight, why thebush is not burnt. And when Jehovah saw that he turned aside to see, Godcalled unto him out of the midst of the bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And hesaid, Here am I. And he said, Draw not nigh hither: put off thy shoes from offthy feet, for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground. Moreover hesaid, I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, andthe God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon God.

3:7 And Jehovah said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people that arein Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I knowtheir sorrows; and I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of theEgyptians, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land and a large,unto a land flowing with milk and honey; unto the place of the Canaanite, andthe Hittite, and the Amorite, and the Perizzite, and the Hivite, and theJebusite. And now, behold, the cry of the children of Israel is come unto me:moreover I have seen the oppression wherewith the Egyptians oppress them.

3:10 Come now therefore, and I will send thee unto Pharaoh, that thoumayest bring forth my people the children of Israel out of Egypt. And Mosessaid unto God, Who am I, that I should go unto Pharaoh, and that I shouldbring forth the children of Israel out of Egypt? And he said, Certainly I willbe with thee; and this shall be the token unto thee, that I have sent thee: whenthou hast brought forth the people out of Egypt, ye shall serve God upon thismountain. And Moses said unto God, Behold, when I come unto the childrenof Israel, and shall say unto them, The God of your fathers hath sent me untoyou; and they shall say to me, What is his name? What shall I say unto them?

3:14 And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shaltthou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you. And Godsaid moreover unto Moses, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel,Jehovah, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and

Ex. 3:1 Apacentando Moisés las ovejas de su suegro Jetro, sacerdote deMadián, llevó las ovejas a través del desierto y llegó hasta Horeb, monte deDios. Allí se le apareció el angel de Jehová en una llama de fuego, en medio deuna zarza, Al fijarse, vio que la zarza ardía en fuego, pero la zarza no seconsumía.

3:3 Entonces Moisés se dijo: Iré ahora para contemplar esta gran visión, porqué causa la zarza no se quema. Cuando Jehová vio que él iba a mirar, lollamó de en medio de la zarza. ¡Moisés, Moisés! Aquí estoy, respondió él. Diosle dijo: No te acerques; quita el calzado de tus pies, porque el lugar donde túestás, tierra santa es. Y añadió: Yo soy el Dios de tu padre, el Dios deAbraham, el Dios de Isaac y el Dios de Jacob. Entonces Moisés cubrió surostro, porque tuvo miedo de mirar a Dios.

3:7 Dijo luego Jehová: Bien he visto la aflicción de mi pueblo que está enEgipto, y he oído su clamor a causa de sus opresores, pues he conocido susangustias. Por eso he descendido para librarlos de manos de los egipcios ysacarlos de aquella tierra a una tierra buena y ancha, a una tierra que fluyeleche y miel, a los lugares del cananeo, del heteo, del amorreo, del ferezeo, delheveo y del jebuseo. El clamor, pues, de los hijos de Israel ha llegado ante mí,y también he visto la opresión con que los egipcios los oprimen.

3:10 Ven, por tanto, ahora, y te enviaré al faraón para que saques de Egipto ami pueblo, a los hijos de Israel. Entonces Moisés respondió a Dios: ¿Quién soyyo para que vaya al faraón y saque de Egipto a los hijos de Israel? Dios lerespondió: Yo estaré contigo; y esto te será por señal de que yo te he enviado:cuando hayas sacado de Egipto al pueblo, serviréis a Dios sobre este monte.Dijo Moisés a Dios: Si voy a los hijos de Israel y les digo: “Jehová, el Dios devuestros padres, me ha enviado a vosotros”, me preguntarán: “¿Cuál es sunombre?”. Entonces ¿qué les responderé?

3:14 Respondió Dios a Moisés: “Yo soy el que soy”. Y añadió: Así dirás a loshijos de Israel: “Yo soy me envió a vosotros”. And I will put forth my hand, and smite Egypt with all mywonders which I will do in the midst thereof: and after that he will let you go.And I will give this people favor in the sight of the Egyptians: and it shallcome to pass, that, when ye go, ye shall not go empty. But every woman shallask of her neighbor, and of her that sojourneth in her house, jewels of silver,and jewels of gold, and raiment: and ye shall put them upon your sons, andupon your daughters; and ye shall despoil the Egyptians.

Hebrews 11:23-29 By faith Moses, when he was born, was hid three months byhis parents, because they saw he was a goodly child; and they were not afraidof the king`s commandment. By faith Moses, when he was grown up, refusedto be called the son of Pharaoh`s daughter; choosing rather to share illtreatment with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for aseason; accounting the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures ofEgypt: for he looked unto the recompense of reward.

11:27 By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for heendured, as seeing him who is invisible. By faith he kept the passover, and thesprinkling of the blood, that the destroyer of the firstborn should not touchthem. By faith they passed through the Red sea as by dry land: which theEgyptians assaying to do were swallowed up.

Hebreos 11:23-29 Por la fe Moisés, cuando nació, fue escondido por suspadres por tres meses, porque lo vieron niño hermoso y no temieron el decretodel rey. Por la fe Moisés, hecho ya grande, rehusó llamarse hijo de la hija delfaraón, prefiriendo ser maltratado con el pueblo de Dios, antes que gozar delos deleites temporales del pecado, teniendo por mayores riquezas el oprobiode Cristo que los tesoros de los egipcios, porque tenía puesta la mirada en larecompensa.

11:27 Por la fe dejó Egipto, no temiendo la ira del rey, porque se sostuvocomo viendo al Invisible. Por la fe celebró la Pascua y la aspersión de lasangre, para que el que destruía a los primogénitos no los tocara a ellos. Por lafe pasaron el Mar Rojo como por tierra seca; e intentando los egipcios hacerlo mismo, fueron ahogados.

Text: Exodus 4:1-23

EX 4:1 And Moses answered and said, But, behold, they will not believe me,nor hearken unto my voice; for they will say, Jehovah hath not appeared untothee. And Jehovah said unto him, What is that in thy hand? And he said, Arod. And he said, Cast in on the ground. And he cast it on the ground, and itbecame a serpent; and Moses fled from before it.

4:4 And Jehovah said unto Moses, Put forth thy hand, and take it by the tail:(and he put forth his hand, and laid hold of it, and it became a rod in hishand:) That they may believe that Jehovah, the God of their fathers, the Godof Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath appeared untothee. And Jehovah said furthermore unto him, Put now thy hand into thybosom. And he put his hand into his bosom: and when he took it out, behold,his hand was leprous, as [white as] snow. And he said, Put thy hand into thybosom again. (And he put his hand into his bosom again; and when he took itout of his bosom, behold, it was turned again as his [other] flesh.)

4:8 And it shall come to pass, if they will not believe thee, neither hearken tothe voice of the first sign, that they will believe the voice of the latter sign.And it shall come to pass, if they will not believe even these two signs, neitherhearken unto thy voice, that thou shalt take of the water of the river, and pourit upon the dry land: and the water which thou takest out of the river shallbecome blood upon the dry land. And Moses said unto Jehovah, Oh, Lord, Iam not eloquent, neither heretofore, nor since thou hast spoken unto thyservant; for I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue.

4:11 And Jehovah said unto him, Who hath made man`s mouth? Or whomaketh [a man] dumb, or deaf, or seeing, or blind? Is it not I, Jehovah? Nowtherefore go, and I will be with thy mouth, and teach thee what thou shaltspeak. And he said, Oh, Lord, send, I pray thee, by the hand of him whomthou wilt send. And the anger of Jehovah was kindled against Moses, and hesaid, Is there not Aaron thy brother the Levite? I know that he can speak well.And also, behold, he cometh forth to meet thee: and when he seeth thee, hewill be glad in his heart.

4:15 And thou shalt speak unto him, and put the words in his mouth: and Iwill be with thy mouth, and with his mouth, and will teach you what ye shalldo. And he shall be thy spokesman unto the people; and it shall come to pass,that he shall be to thee a mouth, and thou shalt be to him as God. And thou

Texto: Éxodo 4:1-23

Ex 4:1 Entonces Moisés respondió y dijo: Ellos no me creerán, ni oirán mivoz, pues dirán: “No se te ha aparecido Jehová”. - ¿Qué es eso que tienes en tumano? - le preguntó Jehová. - Una vara – le respondió Moisés. – Échala alsuelo – le dijo Jehová. Él la echo al suelo y se convirtió en una culebra; yMoisés huía de ella.

4:4 Entonces Jehová dijo a Moisés: - Extiende tu mano y tómala por la cola.Él extendió su mano y la tomó, y volvió a ser vara en su mano. – Por estocreerán que se te ha aparecido Jehová, el Dios de tus padres, el Dios deAbraham, el Dios de Isaac y el Dios de Jacob. Le dijo además Jehová: - Meteahora tu mano en tu seno y, cuando la sacó, vio que su mano estaba leprosacomo la nieve. Le dijo Jehová: - Vuelve a meter la mano en tu seno. Él volvió ameter la mano en su seno, y al sacarla de nuevo del seno, vio que estaba comoel resto de su carne.

4:8 Si acontece que no te creen ni obedecen a la voz de la primera señal,creerán a la voz de la segunda. Y si aún no creen a estas dos señales, ni oyen tuvoz, tomarás de las aguas del río y las derramarás en tierra; y las aguas quesaques del río se convertirán en sangre sobre la tierra. Entonces dijo Moisés aJehová: ¡Ay, Señor! nunca he sido hombre de fácil palabra, ni antes ni desdeque tú hablas con tu siervo, porque soy tardo en el habla y torpe de lengua.

4:11 Jehová le respondió: -¿Quién dio la boca al hombre? ¿o quién hizo almudo y al sordo, al que ve y al ciego? ¿No soy yo, Jehová? Ahora, pues, ve,que yo estaré en tu boca y te enseñaré lo que has de hablar. Y él dijo: ¡Ay,Señor! envía, te ruego, a cualquier otra persona. Entonces Jehová se enojócontra Moisés, y dijo: - ¿No conozco yo a tu hermano Aarón, el levita, y que élhabla bien? Él saldrá a recibirte, y al verte se alegrará en su corazón.

4:15 Tú le hablarás y pondrás en su boca las palabras, y yo estaré en tu bocay en la suya, y os enseñaré lo que habéis de hacer. Él hablará por ti al pueblo;será como tu boca, y tú ocuparás para él lugar de Dios.

And thou shalt take in thy hand this rod, wherewith thou shalt do the signs.And Moses went and returned to Jethro his father-in-law, and said unto him,Let me go, I pray thee, and return unto my brethren that are in Egypt, andsee whether they be yet alive. And Jethro said to Moses, Go in peace. AndJehovah said unto Moses in Midian, Go, return into Egypt; for all the men aredead that sought thy life.

4:20 And Moses took his wife and his sons, and set them upon an ass, and hereturned to the land of Egypt: and Moses took the rod of God in his hand.And Jehovah said unto Moses, When thou goest back into Egypt, see that thoudo before Pharaoh all the wonders which I have put in thy hand: but I willharden his heart and he will not let the people go. And thou shalt say untoPharaoh, Thus saith Jehovah, Israel is my son, my first-born: and I have saidunto thee, Let my son go, that he may serve me; and thou hast refused to lethim go: behold, I will slay thy son, thy first-born.

Text: EX. 5:1-23 And afterward Moses and Aaron came, and said untoPharaoh, Thus saith Jehovah, the God of Israel, Let my people go, that theymay hold a feast unto me in the wilderness. 5:3 And they said, The God of the Hebrews hath met with us: let us go, wepray thee, three days` journey into the wilderness, and sacrifice unto Jehovahour God, lest he fall upon us with pestilence, or with the sword. 5:6 And the same day Pharaoh commanded the taskmasters of the people,and their officers, saying, Ye shall no more give the people straw to makebrick, as heretofore: let them go and gather straw for themselves. And thenumber of the bricks, which they did make heretofore, ye shall lay upon them;ye shall not diminish aught thereof: for they are idle; therefore they cry,saying, Let us go and sacrifice to our God. Let heavier work be laid upon themen, that they may labor therein; and let them not regard lying words.

5:10 And the taskmasters of the people went out, and their officers, and theyspake to the people, saying, Thus saith Pharaoh, I will not give you straw. Goyourselves, get you straw where ye can find it: for nought of your work shallbe diminished. So the people were scattered abroad throughout all the land ofEgypt to gather stubble for straw. And the taskmasters were urgent saying,Fulfil your works, [your] daily tasks, as when there was straw. And theofficers of the children of Israel, whom Pharaoh`s taskmasters had set overthem, were beaten, and demanded, Wherefore have ye not fulfilled your taskboth yesterday and today, in making brick as heretofore?

5:15 Then the officers of the children of Israel came and cried unto Pharaoh,saying, Wherefore dealest thou thus with thy servants? There is no strawgiven unto thy servants, and they say to us, Make brick: and, behold, thyservants are beaten; but the fault it in thine own people. But he said, Ye areidle, ye are idle: therefore ye say, Let us go and sacrifice to Jehovah.5:18 Go therefore now, and work; for there shall no straw be given you, yetshall ye deliver the number of bricks. And the officers of the children ofIsrael did see that they were in evil case, when it was said, Ye shall notdiminish aught from your bricks, [your]

Les impondréis la misma tarea de ladrillo que hacían antes,y no les disminuiréis nada, pues están ociosos. Por eso claman diciendo:“Vamos o ofrezcamos sacrificios a nuestro Dios”. Que se les aumente eltrabajo, para que estén ocupados y no atiendan a palabras mentirosas.

5:10 Los cuadrilleros y sus capataces salieron y dijeron al pueblo: - Así hadicho el faraón: “Ya no os daré paja. Id vosotros y recoged la paja donde lahalléis, pero nada se disminuirá de vuestra tarea”. Entonces el pueblo seesparció por toda la tierra de Egipto para recoger rastrojo en lugar de paja.Los cuadrilleros los apremiaban diciendo: - Acabad vuestra obra, la tarea decada día en su día, como cuando se os daba paja. EX 6:1 And Jehovah said unto Moses, Now shalt thou see what I will do toPharaoh: for by a strong hand shall he let them go, and by a strong hand shallhe drive them out of his land.

EX 6:4 And I have also established my covenant with them, to give them theland of Canaan, the land of their sojournings, wherein they sojourned. Andmoreover I have heard the groaning of the children of Israel, whom theEgyptians keep in bondage; and I have remembered my covenant. 7:7 And Moses was fourscore years old, and Aaron fourscore and three yearsold, when they spake unto Pharaoh. EX 7:14 And Jehovah said unto Moses, Pharaoh`s heart is stubborn, herefuseth to let the people go. 8:8 Then Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron, and said, Entreat Jehovah,that he take away the frogs from me, and from my people; and I will let thepeople go, that they may sacrifice unto Jehovah.And Moses said unto Pharaoh, Have thou this glory over me: against whattime shall I entreat for thee, and for thy servants, and for thy people, that thefrogs be destroyed from thee and thy houses, and remain in the river only?And he said, Against to-morrow. And he said, Be it according to thy word;that thou mayest know that there is none like unto Jehovah our God.

EX 8:11 And the frogs shall depart from thee, and from thy houses, and fromthy servants, and from thy people; they shall remain in the river only. AndMoses and Aaron went out from Pharaoh: and Moses cried unto Jehovahconcerning the frogs which he had brought upon Pharaoh. And Jehovah didaccording to the word of Moses; and the frogs died out of the houses, out ofthe courts, and out of the fields. And they gathered them together in heaps;and the land stank. But when Pharaoh saw that there was respite, hehardened his heart, and hearkened not unto them, as Jehovah had spoken.

Ex 8:11 Las ranas se apartarán de ti y de tus casas, de tus siervos y de tupueblo, y solamente quedarán en el río. Entonces salieron Moisés y Aarón dela presencia del faraón. E hizo Jehová conforme a la palabra de Moisés:murieron las ranas de las casas, de los cortijos y de los campos. Las juntaronen montones, y apestaba la tierra. Pero al ver el faraón que le habían dadoreposo, endureció su corazón y no los escuchó, tal como Jehová lo había dicho.

8:19 Then the magicians said unto Pharaoh, This is the finger of God: andPharaoh`s heart was hardened, and he hearkened not unto them; as Jehovahhad spoken. And Jehovah said unto Moses, Rise up early in the morning, andstand before Pharaoh; lo, he cometh forth to the water; and say unto him,Thus saith Jehovah, Let my people go, that they may serve me. Else, if thouwilt not let my people go, behold, I will send swarms of flies upon thee, andupon they servants, and upon thy people, and into thy houses: and the housesof the Egyptians shall be full of swarms of flies, and also the ground whereonthey are.

8:22 And I will set apart in that day the land of Goshen, in which my peopledwell, that no swarms of flies shall be there; to the end thou mayest know thatI am Jehovah in the midst of the earth. And I will put a division between mypeople and thy people: by to-morrow shall this sign be. And Jehovah did so;and there came grievous swarms of flies into the house of Pharaoh, and intohis servants` houses: and in all the land of Egypt the land was corrupted byreason of the swarms of flies.

8:25 And Pharaoh called for Moses and for Aaron, and said, Go ye, sacrificeto your God in the land. And Moses said, It is not meet so to do; for we shallsacrifice the abomination of the Egyptians to Jehovah our God: lo, shall wesacrifice the abomination of the Egyptians before their eyes, and will they notstone us? We will go three days` journey into the wilderness, and sacrifice toJehovah our God, as he shall command us.

8:28 And Pharaoh said, I will let you go, that ye may sacrifice to Jehovahyour God in the wilderness; only ye shall not go very far away: entreat for me.And Moses said, Behold, I go out from thee, and I will entreat Jehovah thatthe swarms of flies may depart from Pharaoh, from his servants, and from his

Ex 8:16 Entonces Jehová dijo a Moisés: - Di a Aarón: “Extiende tu vara ygolpea el polvo de la tierra, para que se convierta en piojos por todo el país deEgipto”. Ellos lo hicieron así; Aarón extendió su mano con la vara y golpeó elpolvo de la tierra, el cual se convirtió en piojos que se lanzaron sobre loshombres y las bestias. Todo el polvo de la tierra se convirtió en piojos en todoel país de Egipto. Los hechiceros también intentaron sacar piojos con susencantamientos, pero no pudieron. Hubo, pues, piojos tanto en los hombrescomo en las bestias.

8:19 Entonces los hechiceros dijeron al faraón: - Es el dedo de Dios. Pero elcorazón del faraón se endureció, y no los escuchó, tal como Jehová lo habíadicho. Jehová dijo a Moisés: Levántate de mañana y ponte delante del faraón,cuando él salga al río, y dile: “Jehová ha dicho así: Deja ir a mi pueblo paraque me sirva, porque si no dejas ir a mi pueblo, yo enviaré sobre ti, sobre tussiervos, sobre tu pueblo y sobre tus casas toda clase de moscas; las casas de losegipcios se llenarán de toda clase de moscas, y asimismo la tierra donde ellosestén.

8:22 Aquel día yo apartaré la tierra de Gosén, en la cual habita mi pueblo,para que no haya en ella ninguna clase de moscas, a fin de que sepas que yosoy Jehová en medio de la tierra. Y yo pondré redención entre mi pueblo y eltuyo. Mañana será esta señal. Jehová lo hizo así, y vino toda clase de moscasmolestísimas sobre la casa del faraón, sobre las casas de sus siervos y sobretodo el país de Egipto; la tierra fue corrompida a causa de ellas.

8:25 Entonces el faraón llamó a Moisés y a Aarón, y les dijo: - Andad, ofrecedsacrificios a vuestro Dios, pero dentro del país. Moisés respondió: - Noconviene que hagamos así, porque ofreceríamos a Jehová, nuestro Dios, lo quees la abominación para los egipcios delante de ellos, ¿no nos apedrearían?Iremos por el desierto, tres días de camino, y ofreceremos sacrificios a Jehová,nuestro Dios, como él nos diga.

8:30 And Moses went out from Pharaoh, and entreated Jehovah.And Jehovah did according to the word of Moses; and he removed the swarmsof flies from Pharaoh, from his servants, and from his people; there remainednot one. And Pharaoh hardened his heart this time also, and he did not let thepeople go.

9:1 Then Jehovah said unto Moses, Go in unto Pharaoh, and tell him, Thussaith Jehovah, the God of the Hebrews, Let my people go, that they may serveme. For if thou refuse to let them go, and wilt hold them still, behold, thehand of Jehovah is upon thy cattle which are in the field, upon the horses,upon the asses, upon the camels, upon the herds, and upon the flocks: [thereshall be] a very grievous murrain. And Jehovah shall make a distinctionbetween the cattle of Israel and the cattle of Egypt; and there shall nothing dieof all that belongeth to the children of Israel.

9:5 And Jehovah appointed a set time, saying, To-morrow Jehovah shall dothis thing in the land. And Jehovah did that thing on the morrow; and all thecattle of Egypt died; but of the cattle of the children of Israel died not one.

9:8 And Jehovah said unto Moses and unto Aaron, Take to you handfuls ofashes of the furnace, and let Moses sprinkle it toward heaven in the sight ofPharaoh. And it shall become small dust over all the land of Egypt, and shallbe a boil breaking forth with blains upon man and upon beast, throughout allthe land of Egypt. And they took ashes of the furnace, and stood beforePharaoh; and Moses sprinkled it up toward heaven; and it became a boilbreaking forth with blains upon man and upon beast. And the magicianscould not stand before Moses because of the boils; for the boils were upon themagicians, and upon all the Egyptians.

9:12 And Jehovah hardened the heart of Pharaoh, and he hearkened notunto them, as Jehovah had spoken unto Moses.

8:30 Entonces Moisés salió de la presencia del faraón, y oró a Jehová.Jehová hizo conforme a la palabra de Moisés y apartó todas aquellas moscasdel faraón, de sus siervos y de su pueblo, sin que quedara una. Pero tambiénesta vez el faraón endureció su corazón y no dejó partir al pueblo.

EX 9:13 And Jehovah said unto Moses, Rise up early in the morning, andstand before Pharaoh, and say unto him, Thus saith Jehovah, the God of theHebrews, Let my people go, that they may serve me. For I will this time sendall my plagues upon thy heart, and upon thy servants, and upon thy people;that thou mayest know that there is none like me in all the earth. For now Ihad put forth my hand, and smitten thee and thy people with pestilence, andthou hadst been cut off from the earth: but in very deed for this cause have Imade thee to stand, to show thee my power, and that my name may bedeclared throughout all the earth. As yet exaltest thou thyself against mypeople, that thou wilt not let them go?

9:18 Behold, to-morrow about this time I will cause it to rain a very grievoushail, such as hath not been in Egypt since the day it was founded even untilnow. Now therefore send, hasten in thy cattle and all that thou hast in thefield; [for] every man and beast that shall be found in the field, and shall notbe brought home, the hail shall come down upon them, and they shall die. Hethat feared the word of Jehovah among the servants of Pharaoh made hisservants and his cattle flee into the houses. And he that regarded not the wordof Jehovah left his servants and his cattle in the field.

9:22 And Jehovah said unto Moses, Stretch forth thy hand toward heaven,that there may be hail in all the land of Egypt, upon man, and upon beast, andupon every herb of the field, throughout the land of Egypt. And Mosesstretched forth his rod toward heaven: and Jehovah sent thunder and hail,and fire ran down unto the earth; and Jehovah rained hail upon the land ofEgypt. So there was hail, and fire mingled with the hail, very grievous, suchas had not been in all the land of Egypt since it became a nation.

9:25 And the hail smote throughout all the land of Egypt all that was in thefield, both man and beast; and the hail smote every herb of the field, andbrake every tree of the field. Only in the land of Goshen, where the childrenof Israel were, was there no hail. And Pharaoh sent, and called for Moses andAaron, and said unto them, I have sinned this time: Jehovah is righteous, andI and my people are wicked. Entreat Jehovah; for there hath been enough of[these] mighty thunderings and hail; and I will let you go, and ye shall stay nolonger.

Éx 9:13 Luego Jehová dijo a Moisés: - Levántate de mañana, ponte delantedel faraón y dile: “Jehová, el Dios de los hebreos, dice así: Deja ir a mi pueblo,para que me sirva, porque yo enviaré esta vez todas mis plagas sobre tucorazón, sobre tus siervos y sobre tu pueblo, para que entiendas que no hayotro como yo en toda la tierra. Por tanto, ahora yo extenderé mi mano paraherirte a ti y a tu pueblo con una plaga, y desaparecerás de la tierra. A laverdad yo te he puesto para mostrar en ti mi poder, y para que mi nombre seaanunciado en toda la tierra. ¿Todavía te opones a mi pueblo y no lo dejas ir?

9:18 Mañana, a esta hora, yo haré llover granizo muy pesado, cual nuncahubo en Egipto, desde el día que se fundó hasta ahora. Envía, pues, a recogertu Ganado y todo lo que tienes en el campo, porque todo hombre o animal quese halle en el campo y no sea recogido en casa, el granizo caerá sobre él, ymorirá”. De los siervos del faraón, el que tuvo temor de la palabra de Jehovárecogió a sus criados y a su Ganado en casa, pero el que no puso en su corazónla palabra de Jehová, dejó a su criado y a su ganado en el campo.

9:22 Entonces Jehová dijo a Moisés: - Extiende tu mano hacia el cielo, paraque caiga granizo en toda la tierra de Egipto sobre los hombres, sobre lasbestias y sobre toda la hierba del campo en el país de Egipto. Moisés extendiósu vara hacia el cielo, y Jehová hizo tronar y granizar; el fuego se descargósobre la tierra, y Jehová hizo llover granizo sobre la tierra de Egipto. Hubo,pues, granizo, y fuego mezclado con el granizo, tan grande cuan nunca huboen toda la tierra de Egipto desde que fue habitada.

9:25 Aquel granizo hirió en toda la tierra de Egipto todo lo que estaba en elcampo, así hombres como bestias; también destrozó el granizo toda la hierbadel campo, y desgajó todos los árboles del país. Solamente en la tierra deGosén, donde estaban los hijos de Israel, no hubo granizo. Entonces el faraónenvió a llamar a Moisés y a Aarón, y le dijo: - He pecado esta vez; Jehová esjusto y yo y mi pueblo impío. Orad a Jehová para que cesen los truenos deDios y el granizo. Yo os dejaré ir; y no os detendréis más.

9:29 And Moses said unto him, As soon as I am gone out of the city, I willspread abroad my hands unto Jehovah; the thunders shall cease, neither shallthere be any more hail; that thou mayest know that the earth is Jehovah`s.But as for thee and thy servants, I know that ye will not yet fear Jehovah God.And the flax and the barley were smitten: for the barley was in the ear, andthe flax was in bloom. But the wheat and the spelt were not smitten: for theywere not grown up.

9:33 And Moses went out of the city from Pharaoh, and spread abroad hishands unto Jehovah: and the thunders and hail ceased, and the rain was notpoured upon the earth.

10:1 And Jehovah said unto Moses, Go in unto Pharaoh: for I have hardenedhis heart, and the heart of his servants, that I may show these my signs in themidst of them, and that thou mayest tell in the ears of thy son, and of thyson`s son, what things I have wrought upon Egypt, and my signs which I havedone among them; that ye may know that I am Jehovah. And Moses andAaron went in unto Pharaoh, and said unto him, Thus saith Jehovah, the Godof the Hebrews, How long wilt thou refuse to humble thyself before me? letmy people go, that they may serve me.

10:4 Else, if thou refuse to let my people go, behold, to-morrow will I bringlocusts into thy border: and they shall cover the face of the earth, so that oneshall not be able to see the earth: and they shall eat the residue of that which isescaped, which remaineth unto you from the hail, and shall eat every treewhich groweth for you out of the field: and thy houses shall be filled, and thehouses of all thy servants, and the houses of all the Egyptians; as neither thyfathers nor thy fathers` fathers have seen, since the day that they were uponthe earth unto this day. And he turned, and went out from Pharaoh.

10:7 And Pharaoh`s servants said unto him, How long shall this man be asnare unto us? let the men go, that they may serve Jehovah their God:knowest thou not yet that Egypt is destroyed?

9:29 Moisés le respondió: - Tan pronto salga yo de la ciudad, extenderé mismanos a Jehová; los truenos cesarán y no habrá más granizo, para que sepasque de Jehová es la tierra.Pero yo sé que ni tú ni tus siervos temeréis todavía la presencia de JehováDios. El lino, pues, y la cebada fueron destrozados, porque la cebada estaba yaespigada, y el lino en caña. Pero el trigo y el centeno no fueron destrozados,porque eran tardíos.

9:33 Cuando Moisés salió de la presencia del faraón, fuera de la ciudad,extendió sus manos a Jehová, y cesaron los truenos y el granizo, y la lluvia nocayó más sobre la tierra.

Ellas comerán lo que escapó, lo que os quedó del granizo; comeráasimismo todo árbol que crece en el campo. Llenará tus casas, las casas detodos tus siervos y las casas de todos los egipcios, cual nunca vieron tus padresni tus abuelos, desde que ellos aparecieron sobre la tierra hasta hoy”. 10:7 Entonces los siervos del faraón le dijeron: - ¿Hasta cuándo será estehombre una amenaza para nosotros? Deja ir a estos hombres, para que sirvana Jehová, su Dios. ¿Acaso no sabes todavía que Egipto está ya destruido?

EX 10:12 And Jehovah said unto Moses, Stretch out thy hand over the landof Egypt for the locusts, that they may come up upon the land of Egypt, andeat every herb of the land, even all that the hail hath left. And Moses stretchedforth his rod over the land of Egypt, and Jehovah brought an east wind uponthe land all that day, and all the night; and when it was morning, the eastwind brought the locusts. And the locusts went up over all the land of Egypt,and rested in all the borders of Egypt; very grievous were they; before themthere were no such locusts as they, neither after them shall be such.

10:15 For they covered the face of the whole earth, so that the land wasdarkened; and they did eat every herb of the land, and all the fruit of the treeswhich the hail had left: and there remained not any green thing, either tree orherb of the field, through all the land of Egypt. Then Pharaoh called forMoses and Aaron in haste; and he said, I have sinned against Jehovah yourGod, and against you. Now therefore forgive, I pray thee, my sin only thisonce, and entreat Jehovah your God, that he may take away from me thisdeath only. And he went out from Pharaoh, and entreated Jehovah.

10:19 And Jehovah turned an exceeding strong west wind, which took up thelocusts, and drove them into the Red Sea; there remained not one locust in allthe border of Egypt. But Jehovah hardened Pharaoh`s heart, and he did notlet the children of Israel go. And Jehovah said unto Moses, Stretch out thyhand toward heaven, that there may be darkness over the land of Egypt, evendarkness which may be felt. And Moses stretched forth his hand towardheaven; and there was a thick darkness in all the land of Egypt three days;they saw not one another, neither rose any one from his place for three days:but all the children of Israel had light in their dwellings.

10:24 And Pharaoh called unto Moses, and said, Go ye, serve Jehovah; onlylet your flocks and your herds be stayed: let your little ones also go with you.And Moses said, Thou must also give into our hand sacrifices and burnt-offerings, that we may sacrifice unto Jehovah our God. Our cattle also shallgo with us; there shall not a hoof be left behind: for thereof must we take toserve Jehovah our God; and we know not with what we must serve Jehovah,until we come thither.10:27 But Jehovah hardened Pharaoh`s heart, and he would not let them go.

Pero os ruegoahora que perdonéis mi pecado solamente esta vez, y que oréis a Jehová,vuestro Dios, para que aparte de mí al menos esta plaga mortal. Salió Moisésde delante del faraón, y oró a Jehová.

10:19 Entonces Jehová trajo un fuertísimo viento occidental que se llevó lalangosta y la arrojó en el Mar Rojo; ni una langosta quedó en todo el país deEgipto. Pero Jehová endureció el corazón del faraón, y este no dejó ir a loshijos de Israel. Jehová dijo a Moisés: - Extiende tu mano hacia el cielo, paraque haya tinieblas sobre la tierra de Egipto, tanto que cualquiera las palpe.Extendió Moisés su mano hacia el cielo, y por tres días hubo densas tinieblassobre toda la tierra de Egipto. Vayan tambiénvuestros niños con vosotros.Moisés respondió: - Tú nos darás los animales para los sacrificios yholocaustos que ofreceremos a Jehová, nuestro Dios. Y nuestro ganado irátambién con nosotros. No quedará ni una pezuña, porque de él hemos detomar para server a Jehová, nuestro Dios, y no sabemos con qué hemos deservir a Jehová hasta que lleguemos allá.

10:27 Pero Jehová endureció el corazón del faraón, y este no quiso dejarlos ir.

EX 11:1 And Jehovah said unto Moses, Yet one plague more will I bringupon Pharaoh, and upon Egypt; afterwards he will let you go hence: when heshall let you go, he shall surely thrust you out hence altogether. Speak now inthe ears of the people, and let them ask every man of his neighbor, and everywoman of her neighbor, jewels of silver, and jewels of gold. And Jehovahgave the people favor in the sight of the Egyptians. Moreover the man Moseswas very great in the land of Egypt, in the sight of Pharaoh`s servants, and inthe sight of the people. And Moses said, Thus saith Jehovah, About midnightwill I go out into the midst of Egypt: and all the first-born in the land ofEgypt shall die, from the first-born of Pharaoh that sitteth upon his throne,even unto the first-born of the maid-servant that is behind the mill; and all thefirst-born of cattle.

11:6 And there shall be a great cry throughout all the land of Egypt, such asthere hath not been, nor shall be any more. But against any of the children ofIsrael shall not a dog move his tongue, against man or beast: that ye mayknow how that Jehovah doth make a distinction between the Egyptians andIsrael. 11:10 And Moses and Aaron did all these wonders before Pharaoh: andJehovah hardened Pharaoh`s heart, and he did not let the children of Israel goout of his land.

12:3 Speak ye unto all the congregation of Israel, saying, In the tenth [day] ofthis month they shall take to them every man a lamb, according to theirfathers` houses, a lamb for a household:

12:5 Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male a year old: ye shall take itfrom the sheep, or from the goats:

12:7 And they shall take of the blood, and put it on the two side-posts and onthe lintel, upon the houses wherein they shall eat it. And they shall eat theflesh in that night, roast with fire, and unleavened bread; with bitter herbsthey shall eat it. Eat not of it raw, nor boiled at all with water,

Éx 11:1 Jehová dijo a Moisés: - Una plaga más traeré sobre el faraón y sobreEgipto, después de la cual él os dejará ir de aquí. De seguro que os echará deaquí definitivamente. Habla ahora al pueblo, que cada uno pida a su vecino ycada uno a su vecina, alhajas de plata y de oro. Jehová hizo que el pueblo seganara el favor de los egipcios. También Moisés era considerado un granhombre en la tierra de Egipto, a los ojos de los siervos del faraón y a los ojosdel pueblo. 11:10 Moisés y Aarón hicieron todos estos prodigios delante del faraón, y esteno dejó salir a los hijos de Israel fuera de su país.

12:3 Hablad a toda la congregación de Israel, y decid: “El día diez de este mestomará cada uno un cordero según las familias de los padres, un cordero porfamilia.

12:12 For I will go through the land of Egypt in that night, and will smite allthe first-born in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all thegods of Egypt I will execute judgments: I am Jehovah. And the blood shall beto you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, Iwill pass over you, and there shall no plague be upon you to destroy you, whenI smite the land of Egypt.

12:14 And this day shall be unto you for a memorial, and ye shall keep it afeast to Jehovah: throughout your generations ye shall keep it a feast by anordinance for ever.

12:21 Then Moses called for all the elders of Israel, and said unto them, Drawout, and take you lambs according to your families, and kill the passover.And ye shall take a bunch of hyssop, and dip it in the blood that is in thebasin, and strike the lintel and the two side-posts with the blood that is in thebasin; and none of you shall go out of the door of his house until the morning.For Jehovah will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and when he seeth theblood upon the lintel, and on the two side-posts, Jehovah will pass over thedoor, and will not suffer the destroyer to come in unto your houses to smiteyou.

EX 12:29 And it came to pass at midnight, that Jehovah smote all the first-born in the land of Egypt, from the first-born of Pharaoh that sat on histhrone unto the first-born of the captive that was in the dungeon; and all thefirst-born of cattle. And Pharaoh rose up in the night, he, and all his servants,and all the Egyptians; and there was a great cry in Egypt, for there was not ahouse where there was not one dead.

12:31 And he called for Moses and Aaron by night, and said, Rise up, get youforth from among my people, both ye and the children of Israel; and go, serveJehovah, as ye have said. Take both your flocks and your herds, as ye havesaid, and be gone; and bless me also. And the Egyptians were urgent upon thepeople, to send them out of the land in haste; for they said, We are all deadmen.

12:34 And the people took their dough before it was leavened, their kneading-troughs being bound up in their clothes upon their shoulders. And thechildren of Israel did according to the word of Moses; and they asked of theEgyptians jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and raiment. 13:17 And it came to pass, when Pharaoh had let the people go, that God ledthem not by the way of the land of the Philistines, although that was near; forGod said, Lest peradventure the people repent when they see war, and theyreturn to Egypt: but God led the people about, by the way of the wildernessby the Red Sea: and the children of Israel went up armed out of the land ofEgypt.

13:19 And Moses took the bones of Joseph with him: for he had straitlysworn the children of Israel, saying, God will surely visit you; and ye shallcarry up my bones away hence with you. And they took their journey fromSuccoth, and encamped in Etham, in the edge of the wilderness. And Jehovahwent before them by day in a pillar of cloud, to lead them the way, and bynight in a pillar of fire, to give them light, that they might go by day and bynight: the pillar of cloud by day, and the pillar of fire by night, departed notfrom before the people.

EX 12:29 Aconteció que a la medianoche Jehová hirió a todo primogénito enla tierra de Egipto, desde el primogénito del faraón que se sentaba sobre sutrono hasta el primogénito del cautivo que estaba en la cárcel, y todoprimogénito de los animales. 12:31 He hizo llamar a Moisés y a Aarón de noche, y les dijo: - Salid de enmedio de mi pueblo vosotros y los hijos de Israel, e id a servir a Jehová, comohabéis dicho. 13:17 Luego que el faraón dejó ir al pueblo, Dios no los llevó por el camino dela tierra de los filisteos, que estaba cerca, pues dijo Dios: Para que no searrepienta el pueblo cuando vean la guerra, y regresen a Egipto. Por eso hizoDios que el pueblo diera un rodeo por el camino del desierto del Mar Rojo.Los hijos de Israel salieron de Egipto armados.

13:19 Moisés tomó también consigo los huesos de José, el cual había hechojurar a los hijos de Israel, diciéndoles: Dios ciertamente os visitará, y entoncesos llevaréis mis huesos de aquí con vosotros. Partieron de Sucot y acamparonen Etan, a la entrada del desierto. Jehová iba delante de ellos, de día en unacolumna de nube para guiarlos por el camino, y de noche en una columna defuego para alumbrarlos, a fin de que anduvieran de día y de noche. Nunca seapartó del pueblo la columna de nube durante el día, ni la columna de fuegodurante la noche.

14:1 And Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying, Speak unto the children ofIsrael, that they turn back and encamp before Pihahiroth, between Migdoland the sea, before Baal-zephon: over against it shall ye encamp by the sea.And Pharaoh will say of the children of Israel, They are entangled in the land,the wilderness hath shut them in. And I will harden Pharaoh`s heart, and heshall follow after them; and I will get me honor upon Pharaoh, and upon allhis host: and the Egyptians shall know that I am Jehovah. And they did so.

14:5 And it was told the king of Egypt that the people were fled: and theheart of Pharaoh and of his servants was changed towards the people, andthey said, What is this we have done, that we have let Israel go from servingus? And he made ready his chariot, and took his people with him: and hetook six hundred chosen chariots, and all the chariots of Egypt, and captainsover all of them.

14:8 And Jehovah hardened the heart of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and hepursued after the children of Israel: for the children of Israel went out with ahigh hand. And the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses [and]chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook themencamping by the sea, beside Pihahiroth, before Baal-zephon. And whenPharaoh drew nigh, the children of Israel lifted up their eyes, and, behold, theEgyptians were marching after them; and they were sore afraid: and thechildren of Israel cried out unto Jehovah.

14:11 And they said unto Moses, Because there were no graves in Egypt, hastthou taken us away to die in the wilderness? wherefore hast thou dealt thuswith us, to bring us forth out of Egypt? Is not this the word that we spakeunto thee in Egypt, saying, Let us alone, that we may serve the Egyptians? Forit were better for us to serve the Egyptians, than that we should die in thewilderness. And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and seethe salvation of Jehovah, which he will work for you to-day: for the Egyptianswhom ye have seen to-day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.

14:14 Jehovah will fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace. And Jehovahsaid unto Moses, Wherefore criest thou unto me? speak unto the children ofIsrael, that they go forward. And lift thou up thy rod, and stretch out thyhand over the sea, and divide it: and the children of Israel shall go into themidst of the sea on dry ground.And I, behold, I will harden the hearts of the Egyptians, and they shall go inafter them: and I will get me honor upon Pharaoh, and upon all his host, uponhis chariots, and upon his horsemen.

14:18 And the Egyptians shall know that I am Jehovah, when I have gottenme honor upon Pharaoh, upon his chariots, and upon his horsemen. 14:21 And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and Jehovah caused thesea to go [back] by a strong east wind all the night, and made the sea dry land,and the waters were divided. And the children of Israel went into the midst ofthe sea upon the dry ground: and the waters were a wall unto them on theirright hand, and on their left. And the Egyptians pursued, and went in afterthem into the midst of the sea, all Pharaoh`s horses, his chariots, and hishorsemen.14:24 And it came to pass in the morning watch, that Jehovah looked forthupon the host of the Egyptians through the pillar of fire and of cloud, anddiscomfited the host of the Egyptians. And he took off their chariot wheels,and they drove them heavily; so that the Egyptians said, Let us flee from theface of Israel; for Jehovah fighteth for them against the Egyptians.

14:26 And Jehovah said unto Moses, Stretch out thy hand over the sea, thatthe waters may come again upon the Egyptians, upon their chariots, and upontheir horsemen. And Moses stretched forth his hand over the sea, and the seareturned to its strength when the morning appeared; and the Egyptians fledagainst it; and Jehovah overthrew the Egyptians in the midst of the sea. Andthe waters returned, and covered the chariots, and the horsemen, even all thehost of Pharaoh that went in after them into the sea; there remained not somuch as one of them. But the children of Israel walked upon dry land in themidst of the sea; and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand,and on their left.

14:30 Thus Jehovah saved Israel that day out of the hand of the Egyptians;and Israel saw the Egyptians dead upon the sea-shore.And Israel saw the great work which Jehovah did upon the Egyptians, and thepeople feared Jehovah: and they believed in Jehovah, and in his servantMoses.1. 14:18 Y sabrán los egipcios que yo soy Jehová, cuando me glorifique en elfaraón, en sus carros y en su gente de a caballo. El ángel de Dios, que ibadelante del campamento de Israel, se apartó y se puso detrás de ellos;asimismo la columna de nube que iba delante de ellos se apartó y se puso a susespaldas, e iba entre el campamente de los egipcios y el campamento de Israel;para aquellos era una nube tenebrosa, pero a Israel lo alumbraba de noche;por eso, en toda aquella noche nunca se acercaron los unos a los otros.

14:21 Moisés extendió su mano sobre el mar, e hizo Jehová que el mar seretirara por medio de un recio viento oriental que sopló toda aquella noche.Así se secó el mar y las aguas quedaron divididas. Entonces los hijos de Israelentraron en medio del mar, en seco, y las aguas eran como un muro a suderecha y a su izquierda. 14:26 Pero Jehová dijo a Moisés: - Extiende tu mano sobre el mar para quelas aguas se vuelvan contra los egipcios, sus carros y su caballería. Moisésextendió su mano sobre el mar y, cuando amanecía, el mar se volvió con todasu fuerza; al oír, los egipcios se encontraban con el mar. Así derribó Jehová alos egipcios en medio del mar, pues al volver las aguas, cubrieron los carros, lacaballería y todo el ejército del faraón que habían entrado tras ellos en el mar;no quedó ni uno de ellos. 14:30 Así salvo Jehová aquel día a Israel de manos de los egipcios; e Israel vioa los egipcios muertos a la orilla del mar.Al ver Israel aquel gran hecho que Jehová ejecutó contra los egipcios elpueblo temió a Jehová, y creyeron a Jehová y a Moisés, su siervo.1. EX 15:22 And Moses led Israel onward from the Red Sea, and they went outinto the wilderness of Shur; and they went three days in the wilderness, andfound no water. And when they came to Marah, they could not drink of thewaters of Marah, for they were bitter: therefore the name of it was calledMarah. And the people murmured against Moses, saying, What shall wedrink? And he cried unto Jehovah; And Jehovah showed him a tree, and hecast it into the waters, and the waters were made sweet. EX 16:1 And they took their journey from Elim, and all the congregation ofthe children of Israel came unto the wilderness of Sin, which is between Elimand Sinai, on the fifteenth day of the second month after their departing out ofthe land of Egypt. And the whole congregation of the children of Israelmurmured against Moses and against Aaron in the wilderness: and thechildren of Israel said unto them, Would that we had died by the hand ofJehovah in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the flesh-pots, when we did eatbread to the full; for ye have brought us forth into this wilderness, to kill thiswhole assembly with hunger.

16:4 Then said Jehovah unto Moses, Behold, I will rain bread from heavenfor you; and the people shall go out and gather a day`s portion every day, thatI may prove them, whether they will walk in my law, or not.

EX 16:12 I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel: speak untothem, saying, At even ye shall eat flesh, and in the morning ye shall be filledwith bread: and ye shall know that I am Jehovah your God. And it came topass at even, that the quails came up, and covered the camp: and in themorning the dew lay round about the camp. Llegaron a Mara,pero no pudieron beber las aguas de Mara, porque eran amargas; por eso lepusieron el nombre de Mara. El pueblo se puso a murmurar contra Moisés,diciendo : ¿Qué hemos de beber? 16:4 Jehová dijo a Moisés: - Mira como yo os hare llover pan del cielo. Elpueblo saldrá y recogerá diariamente la porción de un día, para que yo lapruebe si anda en mi ley, o no.

Ex 16:12 - Yo he oído las murmuraciones de los hijos de Israel. Háblales ydiles: “Al caer la tarde comeréis carne, por la mañana os saciaréis de pan. Asísabréis que yo soy Jehová vuestro Dios”. Al llegar la tarde, subieroncodornices que cubrieron el campamento, y por la mañana descendió rocíoalrededor del campamento. Cuando el rocío cesó de descender, apareció sobrela faz del desierto una cosa menuda, redonda, menuda como escarcha sobre latierra.

And he said untothem, This is that which Jehovah hath spoken, Tomorrow is a solemn rest, aholy sabbath unto Jehovah: bake that which ye will bake, and boil that whichye will boil; and all that remaineth over lay up for you to be kept until themorning.

16:24 And they laid it up till the morning, as Moses bade: and it did notbecome foul, neither was there any worm therein. And Moses said, Eat thatto-day; for to-day is a sabbath unto Jehovah: to-day ye shall not find it in thefield. Six days ye shall gather it; but on the seventh day is the sabbath, in itthere shall be none. And it came to pass on the seventh day, that there wentout some of the people to gather, and they found none. And Jehovah said untoMoses, How long refuse ye to keep my commandments and my laws?

16:29 See, for that Jehovah hath given you the sabbath, therefore he givethyou on the sixth day the bread of two days; abide ye every man in his place, letno man go out of his place on the seventh day. So the people rested on theseventh day.

EX 19:1 In the third month after the children of Israel were gone forth out ofthe land of Egypt, the same day came they into the wilderness of Sinai. Andwhen they were departed from Rephidim, and were come to the wilderness ofSinai, they encamped in the wilderness; and there Israel encamped before themount. And Moses went up unto God, and Jehovah called unto him out of themountain, saying, Thus shalt thou say to the house of Jacob, and tell thechildren of Israel: have seen what I did unto the Egyptians, and how I bareyou on eagles` wings, and brought you unto myself.

19:5 Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant,then ye shall be mine own possession from among all peoples: for all the earthis mine: and ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and a holy nation.These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel. AndMoses came and called for the elders of the people, and set before them allthese words which Jehovah commanded him. And all the people answeredtogether, and said, All that Jehovah hath spoken we will do. And Mosesreported the words of the people unto Jehovah.

Descendió, pues, Moisés del monte al pueblo, ysantificó al pueblo y ellos grabaron sus vestidos. Dijo al pueblo: - Estadpreparados para el tercer día, y absteneos de mujer.

trembled. And Moses brought forth the people out of the camp to meet God;and they stood at the nether part of the mount. 19:20 And Jehovah came down upon mount Sinai, to the top of the mount:and Jehovah called Moses to the top of the mount; and Moses went up. AndJehovah said unto Moses, Go down, charge the people, lest they breakthrough unto Jehovah to gaze, and many of them perish. And let the priestsalso, that come near to Jehovah, sanctify themselves, lest Jehovah break forthupon them.

19:23 And Moses said unto Jehovah, The people cannot come up to mountSinai: for thou didst charge us, saying, Set bounds about the mount, andsanctify it. And Jehovah said unto him, Go, get thee down; and thou shaltcome up, thou, and Aaron with thee: but let not the priests and the peoplebreak through to come up unto Jehovah, lest he break forth upon them.So Moses went down unto the people, and told them.

20:1 And God spake all these words, saying, I am Jehovah thy God, whobrought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.

20:3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

20:4 Thou shalt not make unto thee a graven image, nor any likeness [of anything] that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in thewater under the earth.

20:5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself unto them, nor serve them, for IJehovah thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers uponthe children, upon the third and upon the fourth generation of them that hateme, and showing lovingkindness unto thousands of them that love me andkeep my commandments.

20:7 Thou shalt not take the name of Jehovah thy God in vain; for Jehovahwill not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.

20:8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labor,and do all thy work; but the seventh day is a sabbath unto Jehovah thy God:[in it] thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy

20:1 Habló Dios todas estas palabras: Yo soy Jehová, tu Dios, que te saqué dela tierra de Egipto, de casa de servidumbre.

20:3 No tendrás dioses ajenos delante de mí.

20:4 No te harás imagen ni ninguna semejanza de lo que esté arriba en elcielo ni abajo en la tierra, ni en las aguas debajo de la tierra.

20:5 No te inclinarás a ellas ni las honrarás, porque yo soy Jehová, tu Dios,fuerte, celoso, que visito la maldad de los padres sobre los hijos hasta latercera y cuarta generación de los que me aborrecen, y hago misericordia pormillares a lo que me aman y guardan mis mandamientos.

20:7 No tomarás el nombre de Jehová, tu Dios, en vano, porque no dará porinocente Jehová al que tome su nombre en vano.

20:20 And Moses said unto the people, Fear not: for God is come to proveyou, and that his fear may be before you, that ye sin not. And the people stoodafar off, and Moses drew near unto the thick darkness where God was.thy man-servant, nor thy maid-servant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that iswithin thy gates: for in six days Jehovah made heaven and earth, the sea, andall that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore Jehovah blessed thesabbath day, and hallowed it.

20:20 Moisés respondió al pueblo: - No temáis, pues Dios vino para probaros,para que su temor esté ante vosotros y no pequéis. Y mientras el pueblo semantenía alejado, Moisés se acercó a la autoridad en la cual estaba Dios.

EX 24:1 And he said unto Moses, Come up unto Jehovah, thou, and Aaron,Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel; and worship ye afaroff: and Moses alone shall come near unto Jehovah; but they shall not comenear; neither shall the people go up with him. And Moses came and told thepeople all the words of Jehovah, and all the ordinances: and all the peopleanswered with one voice, and said, All the words which Jehovah hath spokenwill we do. And Moses wrote all the words of Jehovah, and rose up early inthe morning, and builded an altar under the mount, and twelve pillars,according to the twelve tribes of Israel.

24:5 And he sent young men of the children of Israel, who offered burnt-offerings, and sacrificed peace-offerings of oxen unto Jehovah. And Mosestook half of the blood, and put it in basins; and half of the blood he sprinkledon the altar. And he took the book of the covenant, and read in the audienceof the people: and they said, All that Jehovah hath spoken will we do, and beobedient. And Moses took the blood, and sprinkled it on the people, and said,Behold the blood of the covenant, which Jehovah hath made with youconcerning all these words.

32:1 And when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down from themount, the people gathered themselves together unto Aaron, and said untohim, Up, make us gods, which shall go before us; for as for this Moses, theman that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we know not what is becomeof him. And Aaron said unto them, Break off the golden rings, which are inthe ears of your wives, of your sons, and of your daughters, and bring themunto me. And all the people brake off the golden rings which were in theirears, and brought them unto Aaron.

32:4 And he received it at their hand, and fashioned it with a graving tool,and made it a molten calf: and they said, These are thy gods, O Israel, whichbrought thee up out of the land of Egypt. And when Aaron saw [this], he builtan altar before it; and Aaron made proclamation, and said, To-morrow shallbe a feast to Jehovah. And they rose up early on the morrow, and offeredburnt-offerings, and brought peace-offerings; and the people sat down to eatand to drink, and rose up to play.

32:7 And Jehovah spake unto Moses, Go, get thee down; for thy people, thatthou broughtest up out of the land of Egypt, have corrupted themselves:

Ex 24:1 Dijo Jehová a Moisés: - Sube ante Jehová, junto con Aarón, Nadab,Abiú y setenta de los ancianos de Israel; y os inclinaréis de lejos. Pero soloMoisés se acercará a Jehová; que ellos no se acerquen ni suba el pueblo con él.Moisés fue y le contó al pueblo todas las palabras de Jehová, y todas las leyes.Y todo el pueblo respondió a una voz: - Cumpliremos todas las palabras queJehová ha dicho. 32:1 Al ver el pueblo que Moisés tardaba en descender del monte, seacercaron a Aarón y le dijeron: - Levántate, haznos dioses que vayan delantede nosotros, porque a Moisés, ese hombre que nos sacó de la tierra de Egipto,no sabemos qué le haya acontecido. Aarón les dijo: - Quitad los zarcillos deoro que están en las orejas de vuestras mujeres, de vuestros hijos y de vuestrashijas, y traédmelos. Entonces todo el pueblo se quitó los zarcillos de oro quetenían en sus orejas y los trajeron a Aarón.

32:4 Él los recibió de sus manos, les dio forma con un buril e hizo de ello unbecerro de fundición. Entonces ellos dijeron: - ¡Israel, estos son tus dioses, quete sacaron de la tierra de Egipto! Cuando Aarón vio esto, edificó un altardelante del becerro y proclamó: - ¡Mañana será un día de fiesta dedicado aJehová! Wherefore should theEgyptians speak, saying, For evil did he bring them forth, to slay them in themountains, and to consume them from the face of the earth? Turn from thyfierce wrath, and repent of this evil against thy people. 32:14 And Jehovah repented of the evil which he said he would do unto hispeople. And Moses turned, and went down from the mount, with the twotables of the testimony in his hand; tables that were written on both theirsides; on the one side and on the other were they written. And the tables werethe work of God, and the writing was the writing of God, graven upon thetables. And when Joshua heard the noise of the people as they shouted, he saidunto Moses, There is a noise of war in the camp.

32:18 And he said, It is not the voice of them that shout for mastery, neither isit the voice of them that cry for being overcome; but the noise of them thatsing do I hear. And it came to pass, as soon as he came nigh unto the camp,that he saw the calf and the dancing: and Moses` anger waxed hot, and he castthe tables out of his hands, and brake them beneath the mount.

32:20 And he took the calf which they had made, and burnt it with fire, andground it to powder, and strewed it upon the water, and made the children ofIsrael drink of it. And Moses said unto Aaron, What did this people untothee, that thou hast brought a great sin upon them? And Aaron said, Let notthe anger of my lord wax hot: thou knowest the people, that they are [set] onevil.

Vuélvete del ardor de tu ira yarrepiéntete de este mal contra tu pueblo. 32:14 Entonces Jehová se arrepintió del mal que dijo habría de hacer a supueblo. Moisés se volvió y descendió del monte, trayendo en sus manos las dostablas del testimonio, tablas escritas por ambos lados; de uno y otro ladoestaban escritas. Las tablas eran obra de Dios, y la escritura era escritura deDios grabada sobre las tablas. Cuando Josué oyó el clamor del pueblo quegritaba, dijo a Moisés: - Hay gritos de pelea en el campamento.

32:18 Pero Moisés respondió: - No son voces de vencedores, ni alaridos devencidos; oigo cánticos de coros. Aconteció que cuando Moisés llegó alcampamento y vio el becerro y las danzas, se enfureció y arrojó también desus manos las tablas, y las quebró al pie del monte.

32:20 Luego tomó el becerro que habían hecho, lo quemó en el fuego y lomolió hasta reducirlo a polvo, que esparció sobre las aguas y lo dio a beber alos hijos de Israel. Y dijo Moisés a Aarón: - ¿Qué te ha hecho este pueblo paraque hayas traído sobre él tan gran pecado? Aarón le respondió: - No se enojemi señor. Tú conoces al pueblo, que es inclinado al mal.

we know not what is become of him. And I said unto them, Whosoever hathany gold, let them break it off: so they gave it me; and I cast it into the fire,and there came out this calf. And when Moses saw that the people werebroken loose, (for Aaron had let them loose for a derision among theirenemies,) then Moses stood in the gate of the camp, and said, Whoso is onJehovah`s side, [let him come] unto me. And all the sons of Levi gatheredthemselves together unto him.

32:27 And he said unto them, Thus saith Jehovah, the God of Israel, Put yeevery man his sword upon his thigh, and go to and fro from gate to gatethroughout the camp, and slay every man his brother, and every man hiscompanion, and every man his neighbor. And the sons of Levi did accordingto the word of Moses: and there fell of the people that day about threethousand men. And Moses said, Consecrate yourselves to-day to Jehovah,yea, every man against his son, and against his brother; that he may bestowupon you a blessing this day.

32:30 And it came to pass on the morrow, that Moses said unto the people, Yehave sinned a great sin: and now I will go up unto Jehovah; peradventure Ishall make atonement for your sin. And Moses returned unto Jehovah, andsaid, Oh, this people have sinned a great sin, and have made them gods ofgold. Yet now, if thou wilt forgive their sin-; and if not, blot me, I pray thee,out of thy book which thou hast written. And Jehovah said unto Moses,Whosoever hath sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book.

32:34 And now go, lead the people unto [the place] of which I have spokenunto thee: behold, mine angel shall go before thee; nevertheless in the daywhen I visit, I will visit their sin upon them. And Jehovah smote the people,because they made the calf, which Aaron made.

NU 12:1 And Miriam and Aaron spake against Moses because of the Cushitewoman whom he had married; for he had married a Cushite woman. Andthey said, Hath Jehovah indeed spoken only with Moses? hath he not spokenalso with us? And Jehovah heard it.

12:3 Now the man Moses was very meek, above all the men that were uponthe face of the earth. And Jehovah spake suddenly unto Moses, and untoAaron, and unto Miriam, Come out ye three unto the tent of meeting. Andthey three came out. And Jehovah came down in a pillar of cloud, and stoodat the door of the Tent, and called Aaron and Miriam; and they both cameforth. And he said, Hear now my words: if there be a prophet among you, IJehovah will make myself known unto him in a vision, I will speak with him ina dream. My servant Moses is not so; he is faithful in all my house: with himwill I speak mouth to mouth, even manifestly, and not in dark speeches; andthe form of Jehovah shall he behold: wherefore then were ye not afraid tospeak against my servant, against Moses?

12:9 And the anger of Jehovah was kindled against them; and he departed.And the cloud removed from over the Tent; and, behold, Miriam was leprous,as [white as] snow: and Aaron looked upon Miriam, and, behold, she wasleprous. And Aaron said unto Moses, Oh, my lord, lay not, I pray thee, sinupon us, for that we have done foolishly, and for that we have sinned. Let hernot, I pray, be as one dead, of whom the flesh is half consumed when hecometh out of his mother`s womb.

12:13 And Moses cried unto Jehovah, saying, Heal her, O God, I beseechthee. And Jehovah said unto Moses, If her father had but spit in her face,should she not be ashamed seven days? let her be shut up without the campseven days, and after that she shall be brought in again. And Miriam was shutup without the camp seven days: and the people journeyed not till Miriam wasbrought in again. And afterward the people journeyed from Hazeroth, andencamped in the wilderness of Paran.

13:1 And Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying, Send thou men, that they mayspy out the land of Canaan, which I give unto the children of Israel: of everytribe of their fathers shall ye send a man, every one a prince among them.

12:3 Moisés era un hombre muy manso, más que todos los hombres que habíasobre la tierra. Luego dijo Jehová a Moisés, a Aarón y a María: Salid vosotrostres al tabernáculo de reunión. 12:9 Entonces la ira de Jehová se encendió contra ellos; luego se fue.Tan pronto la nube se apartó del tabernáculo, María se llenó de lepra, y teníala piel blanca como la nieve. Cuando Aarón miró a María y vio que estabaleprosa, dijo a Moisés: ¡Ah! señor mío, no pongas ahora sobre nosotros estepecado, porque locamente hemos actuado y hemos pecado. No quede ellaahora como el que nace muerto, que al salir del vientre de su madre tiene yamedio consumida su carne.

12:13 Entonces Moisés clamó a Jehová diciendo: Te ruego, Dios, que la sanesahora. Respondió Jehová a Moisés: Si su padre hubiera escupido en su rostro,¿no se avergonzaría durante siete días? Sea expulsada, pues, fuera delcampamento durante siete días, y después volverá a la congregación. AsíMaría fue expulsada del campamento durante siete días, y el pueblo no siguióadelante hasta que se reunió María con ellos. Después el pueblo partió deHazerot, y acamparon en el desierto de Parán.

13:1 Jehová habló a Moisés y le dijo: Envía unos hombres que reconozcan latierra de Canaán, la cual yo doy a los hijos de Israel; enviaréis un hombre porcada tribu paterna, todos ellos príncipes.

13:3 And Moses sent them from the wilderness of Paran according to thecommandment of Jehovah: all of them men who were heads of the children ofIsrael. And Moses sent them to spy out the land of Canaan, and said untothem, Get you up this way by the South, and go up into the hill-country:and see the land, what it is; and the people that dwell therein, whether theyare strong or weak, whether they are few or many; and what the land is thatthey dwell in, whether it is good or bad; and what cities they are that theydwell in, whether in camps, or in strongholds; and what the land is, whetherit is fat or lean, whether there is wood therein, or not. And be ye of goodcourage, and bring of the fruit of the land. Now the time was the time of thefirst-ripe grapes.

13:21 So they went up, and spied out the land from the wilderness of Zin untoRehob, to the entrance of Hamath. And they went up by the South, and cameunto Hebron; and Ahiman, Sheshai, and Talmai, the children of Anak, werethere. (Now Hebron was built seven years before Zoan in Egypt.)

13:23 And they came unto the valley of Eshcol, and cut down from thence abranch with one cluster of grapes, and they bare it upon a staff between two;[they brought] also of the pomegranates, and of the figs. That place wascalled the valley of Eshcol, because of the cluster which the children of Israelcut down from thence. And they returned from spying out the land at the endof forty days.

13:26 And they went and came to Moses, and to Aaron, and to all thecongregation of the children of Israel, unto the wilderness of Paran, toKadesh; and brought back word unto them, and unto all the congregation,and showed them the fruit of the land. And they told him, and said, We cameunto the land whither thou sentest us; and surely it floweth with milk andhoney; and this is the fruit of it. Howbeit the people that dwell in the land arestrong, and the cities are fortified, [and] very great: and moreover we saw thechildren of Anak there.

13:29 Amalek dwelleth in the land of the South: and the Hittite, and theJebusite, and the Amorite, dwell in the hill-country; and the Canaanitedwelleth by the sea, and along by the side of the Jordan. And Caleb stilled thepeople before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we arewell able to overcome it. But the men that went up with him said, We are notable to go up against the people; for they are stronger than we.

13:32 And they brought up an evil report of the land which they had spiedout unto the children of Israel, saying, The land, through which we have gone

Los envió, pues, Moisés a reconocer la tierra de Canaán, diciéndoles:Subid de aquí al Neguev y luego subid al monte.Observad cómo es la tierra y el pueblo que la habita, si es fuerte o débil,escaso o numeroso; cómo es la tierra habitada, si es Buena o mala; cómo sonlas ciudades habitadas, si son campamentos o plazas fortificadas, y cómo es elterreno, si es fértil o estéril, si en él hay árboles o no. Esforzaos y traed de losfrutos del país. Era el tiempo de las primeras uvas.

13:21 Ellos subieron y reconocieron la tierra desde el desierto de Zin hastaRehob, junto a la entrada de Hamat. Subieron al Neguev y llegaron hastaHebrón. Allí vivían Ahimán, Sesai y Talmai, hijos de Anac. Hebrón fueedificada siete años antes de Zoán en Egipto.

13:23 Llegaron hasta el arroyo Escol y allí cortaron un sarmiento con unracimo de uvas, el cual llevaron entre dos en un palo, y también granados ehigos. Y se llamó aquel lugar el valle del Escol, por el racimo que allí cortaronlos hijos de Israel. Al cabo de cuarenta días regresaron de reconocer la tierra.

13:26 Fueron y se presentaron ante Moisés, Aarón y toda la congregación delos hijos de Israel, en el desierto de Parán, en Cades. Les dieron lainformación a ellos y a toda la congregación, y les mostraron los frutos de latierra. También les contaron: Nosotros llegamos a la tierra a la cual nosenviaste, la que ciertamente fluye leche y miel; estos son sus frutos. Pero elpueblo que habita aquella tierra es fuerte, y las ciudades muy grandes yfortificadas; también vimos allí a los hijos de Anac.

13:29 Amalec habita en Neguev; él heteo, el jebuseo y el amorreo habitan enel monte; el cananeo habita junto al mar y a la ribera del Jordán. EntoncesCaleb hizo callar al pueblo delante de Moisés, y dijo: - Subamos luego, ytomemos posesión de ella, porque más podemos nosotros que ellos. Pero loshombres que subieron con él dijeron: - No podemos subir contra aquelpueblo, porque es más fuerte que nosotros.

eateth up the inhabitants thereof; and all the people that we saw in it are menof great stature. And there we saw the Nephilim, the sons of Anak, who comeof the Nephilim: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so wewere in their sight.

14:1 And all the congregation lifted up their voice, and cried; and the peoplewept that night. And all the children of Israel murmured against Moses andagainst Aaron: and the whole congregation said unto them, Would that wehad died in the land of Egypt! or would that we had died in this wilderness!and wherefore doth Jehovah bring us unto this land, to fall by the sword? Ourwives and our little ones will be a prey: were it not better for us to return intoEgypt?

14:4 And they said one to another, Let us make a captain, and let us returninto Egypt. Then Moses and Aaron fell on their faces before all the assemblyof the congregation of the children of Israel. And Joshua the son of Nun andCaleb the son of Jephunneh, who were of them that spied out the land, renttheir clothes: and they spake unto all the congregation of the children ofIsrael, saying, The land, which we passed through to spy it out, is an exceedinggood land.

14:8 If Jehovah delight in us, then he will bring us into this land, and give itunto us; a land which floweth with milk and honey. Only rebel not againstJehovah, neither fear ye the people of the land; for they are bread for us: theirdefence is removed from over them, and Jehovah is with us: fear them not.

14:10 But all the congregation bade stone them with stones. And the glory ofJehovah appeared in the tent of meeting unto all the children of Israel. AndJehovah said unto Moses, How long will this people despise me? and how longwill they not believe in me, for all the signs which I have wrought amongthem? I will smite them with the pestilence, and disinherit them, and willmake of thee a nation greater and mightier than they.

14:13 And Moses said unto Jehovah, Then the Egyptians will hear it; for thoubroughtest up this people in thy might from among them; and they will tell itto the inhabitants of this land. They have heard that thou Jehovah art in themidst of this people; for thou Jehovah art seen face to face, and thy cloudstandeth over them, and thou goest before them, in a pillar of cloud by day,and in a pillar of fire by night.14:15 Now if thou shalt kill this people as one man, then the nations whichhave heard the fame of thee will speak, saying, Because Jehovah was not ableto bring this people into the land which he sware unto them, therefore he hath

14:4 Y se decían unos a otros: Designemos un capitán y volvamos a Egipto.Moisés y Aarón se postraron sobre sus rostros delante de toda la multitud dela congregación de los hijos de Israel. Y Josué hijo de Nun y Caleb hijo deJefone, que eran de los que habían reconocido la tierra, rompieron susvestidos y dijeron a toda la congregación de los hijos de Israel: - La tierra querecorrimos y exploramos es tierra muy buena.

14:8 Si Jehová se agrada de nosotros, él nos llevará a esta tierra y nos laentregará; es una tierra que fluye leche y miel. Por tanto, no seáis rebeldescontra Jehová ni temáis al pueblo de esta tierra, pues vosotros los comeréiscomo pan. Su amparo se ha apartado de ellos y Jehová está con nosotros: nolos temáis.

14:10 Entonces toda la multitud propuso apedrearlos. Pero la gloria deJehová se mostró en el tabernáculo de reunión a todos los hijos de Israel. YJehová está dijo a Moisés: - ¿Hasta cuándo me ha de irritar este pueblo?¿Hasta cuándo no me creerán, con todas las señales que he hecho en medio deellos? Yo los heriré de mortandad y los destruiré, y a ti te pondré sobre gentemás grande y más fuerte que ellos.

14:13 Pero Moisés respondió a Jehová: - Lo oirán luego los egipcios, porquede en medio de ellos sacaste a este pueblo con tu poder, y se lo dirán a loshabitantes de esta tierra, los cuales han oído que tú, Jehová, estabas en mediode este pueblo, que cara a cara aparecías tú, Jehová, y que tu nube estabasobre ellos, que de día ibas delante de ellos en una columna de nube, y denoche en una columna de fuego.14:15 Si haces morir a este pueblo como a un solo hombre, las gentes quehayan oído tu fama dirán: “Por cuanto no pudo Jehová introducir a estepueblo en la tierra que había jurado darle,

14:18 Jehovah is slow to anger, and abundant in lovingkindness, forgivinginiquity and transgression; and that will by no means clear [the guilty],visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, upon the third and uponthe fourth generation. Pardon, I pray thee, the iniquity of this peopleaccording unto the greatness of thy lovingkindness, and according as thouhast forgiven this people, from Egypt even until now.

14:20 And Jehovah said, I have pardoned according to thy word: but in verydeed, as I live, and as all the earth shall be filled with the glory of Jehovah;because all those men that have seen my glory, and my signs, which I wroughtin Egypt and in the wilderness, yet have tempted me these ten times, and havenot hearkened to my voice; surely they shall not see the land which I swareunto their fathers, neither shall any of them that despised me see it: but myservant Caleb, because he had another spirit with him, and hath followed mefully, him will I bring into the land whereinto he went; and his seed shallpossess it.
