Two brownie young girls knock on the door of a house selling biscuits they have made, a sweet looking widowed old woman opens the door and looks happy, she asks them to come in which they do and offers them a drink for all their hard work, they sit at the table and have a drink and some food, the old lady asks to get her purse to pay them, yet when she comes back she is holding a baseball bat, the girls ask what it’s for but the lady just smiles and hits one then the other knocking them unconscious. We see the old woman stuffing and sewing something, and finally we see the two brownie girls sitting on the shelf of the old woman’s large dolls collection.

• The first shot is a close-up on a hand sewing something. We can see a needle, a hand and the body of a doll. For editing we would use a cross cut to the next shot to increase the pace of the sequence. We hear synchronous sewing and the duration of the shot is 5 seconds.

• The second shot is a medium tracking shot of two girls walking in the forest. For editing we would use a cross cut to the next shot to increase the pace of the sequence. We can hear synchronous walking and the duration of the shot is 5 seconds.

•The next shot is a close-up on a doll from the point of view of the man who is stuffing the doll. We would again use a cross cut to the next shot to increase the pace of the sequence. We can hear him breathing and the duration is 4 seconds.

• The next shot is a tracking shot of the girls walking up the stairs to the house and knocking on his door. We can hear tense music and synchronous sound of them knocking on the door and walking. The duration is 6 seconds.

• The next shot is a close-up on him sitting in the dark (face), it then zoom reverses and we can see him sitting on his chair with a needle and a doll. We can then see him walking towards the camera and placing the doll on the shelf. He then walks past and the camera zooms in on the doll he just placed on the shelf. We hear synchronous walking and the placing of the doll.

Shot types

• In the next shot we have a close-up of him opening the door and a over shoulder tilted high angle shot ofthe girls. The girls ask the man to buy their cookies. For editing we would use a cross cut to the next shotto increase the pace of the sequence. The duration of the shot is 10 seconds.

• In the next shot we have a point of view shot of the two girlslooking at him from a low angle to show his dominance. Wehear him say: “Sure, come right in while I get my money”. TheDuration is 4 seconds.

•In the next shot we have a wide shot of the girls entering his house and he checks outside before closing the door. We can hear tense non diegetic music as they walk in and it cuts to black when he closes the door.

• In the next shot we see a black screen and the title. We hear tense music.

• In the last shot we have a zoom reverse shot from an extremeclose up of two dolls (girls).

The idea is set in the past about 1970 It starts with a black screen and we can hear diegetic sound of sewing.

SCARY/TWISTED-Creepy setting, dark lighting, old musty house, misleading sweet old woman, scary dolls, de-saturated colour, old style filming, dilapidating house, blood, needles and threads, stuffed children.

The location of the house is not important but the mise-en-scene and feel of the house must be old and appear dilapidating and dusty. The house could be created in the studio or we could use a real house and create the atmosphere of an old ‘creepy’ house.
