LOCATION

The Palace is located in Largo S. Vincent, on

the corner to the street Voz do Operário and to

Telheiro de S. Vicente, belonging to the parish

of St. Vicente de Fora.

São Vicente de Fora is a parish in the

municipality of Lisbon, with 0.3 km2 and 4,267

inhabitants (2001). Density: 13,853.9 hab/km2.

Here is located the church of Santa Engracia,

which has the dignity of the National

Pantheon.

HISTORY

One of the finest examples of seventeenth-

century architecture ordered to be built during

the reign of Philip II by Diogo Soares, who sold it

to General D. Manuel Meneses whose arms are

exposed.

In the Gardens of the Palace there are several

panels of ceramic tiles from different periods.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PROPERTY

The Palace has undergone restoration and

maintenance works over the , and the last occurred

about 11 years where it was renewed the electrical

and fire installations. It was also replaced the

windows frames (aluminum thermo-lacquered

frames with double glass) and the attic was

arranged.

The Palace Teles de Meneses in S. Vincent,

dating from the sec. XVII, consists of 1st floor,

2nd floor and attic in the main body, facing the

Largo de S. Vicente, and ground floor (garages),

onto the street Voz do Operário.

Has several interconnected rooms, with

architectonic characteristics of the time, in good

condition. Spacious gardens and cloisters with

different panels of ceramic tiles, swimming pool,

gym, and lift (goes through the floor of garages,

mezzanine floor and garden at the level of the

first floor)
