Week I: Stationary

I really like plain, simple business cards saying name, function and how to contact that person. Therefore I created a clean logo by scanning the imprint of old hot type letters and just added my name - as guideline for my complete stationary.

Über das Projekt:

Das Projekt „wEck“ zeigt Außenaufnahmen ehemaliger Eckgeschäfte in der Dortmun-der Nordstadt. Es geht in dieser Arbeit um den Einfluss des Leerstands auf die Erschei-nung der Bauten aus der Gründerzeit. Das ästhetische Bild steht hier im Vordergrund. Ein frischer Anstrich, eine veränderte Ober-flächenstruktur und sogar die vollständige Entfernung der Eingangstüren und Treppen-stufen sollen die Vornutzung dieses Raums „unsichtbar“ machen. Oft bedarf es eines zweiten Blickes um diese Transformation der „Ecken“ zu erkennen. Die Gruppierung einer Bildauswahl soll die Vergleichbarkeit vereinfachen und einen Über-blick über die Spuren des massiven Struktur-wandels im einstigen Arbeiterviertel geben.

Make a vinyl for you exhibition title!When I was struggling working out a title design and concept about a fictional photography exhibition, my boyfriend - who actually studies photography - had a very succesful exam show-ing his recent pro- ject „wEck“. Since I had figured out this title I asked him whether I could use his work as basis for my „home- work“. He liked the idea of simulating a big exhibition of his pictures and chose an exhibition ground. Since the series is about visually recreating spaces who disap-peared due to the industrial change, the exhibition title had to be spacial. I was inspired by this example at commu-nication consultan- cy Leftloft, Milano (Italy). I would like to have the title built of styrofoam as the mockup beneath shows. Though not perfect regarding the perspective it gives a good impression of the effect. It might even be better when the w is places apart from the other letters, e.g. around a corner. The color of wall and letter is supposed to be more eggshell, not plain white.
